Retired agent Peter Welsh reviews his 1974 investigation of the kidnapping of 12-year-old Jan Broberg, who was abducted by Bob Berchtold, a trusted and close family friend. Pete Welsh spent three years trying to unravel the bizarre twist and turns of the case. Pete was interviewed on camera for the Netflix documentary, Abducted In Plain Sight, about the Jan Broberg kidnapping. It was during the filming that he learned about all the methods used by his subject, Bob Berchtold to groom and manipulate young Jan and her parents, Bob and Maryann Broberg. Former agent Ali Soufan reviews his investigation of the attack on the USS Cole, where suicide terrorists exploded a small boat alongside the Navy Destroyer—as it was refueling in the Yemeni port of Aden. The blast ripped a 40-foot-wide hole near the waterline of the Cole, killing 17 American sailors and injuring many more. Retired agent William "Bill" Plunkett reviews the 1929 Bureau of Investigation case featuring the mysterious death of Virginia McPherson; attractive young nurse found semi-nude in her apartment with a pajama cord around her neck. Retired agent Dave Richter reviews his investigation of the Johnston Gang, a violent family-based robbery, and burglary ring responsible for millions of dollars of thefts and convicted of the murders of six witnesses. The gang operated for more than 20 years in the rural areas of Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware, and New York, stealing everything they could get their hands on, especially farm machinery. Dave Richter believes that the investigation was a success and the Johnston brothers were brought to justice due to the combined efforts of the federal, state, county, and local law enforcement agencies assigned. Retired agent Herbert Cousins, Jr. reviews his investigation of self-proclaimed black messiah and cult leader Hulon Mitchell Jr., also known as Yahweh Ben Yahweh, who led the Florida-based Nation of Yahweh Temple. Retired agent Ed Petersen reviews the investigation of the kidnapping and murder of Exxon Oil Executive Sidney Reso. While they negotiated for his release for 52 days, what investigators didn't know was that Reso had been shot in the arm during the kidnapping, and had died three days later. Upon retiring, SA Petersen became the Director of Security for Major League Baseball (MLB), Office of the Commissioner.
