Stop Making Excuses and Take Action

I recently had the pleasure of chatting with Robert J. Hunt about the power of accountability. Robert shared openly about his own journey to financial freedom and how taking ownership changed his life. In our conversation, Robert explained why accountability leads to true freedom - when we stop making excuses and take action. His book "Nobody Cares Until You Do" tells the story of paying off $90k in debt through some difficult decisions. We also discussed how to live out our faith in everyday life, not compartmentalizing it to Sundays. Robert challenged us to view even our workplace as a mission field and glorify God in all we do. I'd highly recommend checking out Robert's book to learn more about embracing accountability. He's graciously offering the first two listeners a free copy just for being a fan of this podcast! Simply go to NobodyCaresPod.com, fill out the contact form, and use code FULLYENGAGED to claim your free book. Let me know what you think about accountability and bringing your faith to work. Discovering Grace Despite Religious Roots

I recently had the pleasure of chatting with Amelia Walden, author of the inspiring new book "From Jew to Gentile." In our conversation, Amelia shares her incredible story of coming from a Jewish/Catholic background to discovering a personal relationship with Jesus. Even after attending Catholic school, she realized she knew little about the Bible or what it means to know God. It wasn't until attending a local church service as an adult that the gospel truly clicked for Amelia. She vividly recalls hearing the pastor mention the book of "Johnny" (John), which opened her eyes to how much she still needed to learn. From that point on, she was hungry to dive deeper into scripture and build an authentic faith of her own. Amelia is so transparent about the ups and downs of her journey - from having a negative view of Christians to finally embracing the grace Jesus offers. No matter your background, I think you'll find a lot of wisdom and encouragement in her story. We also talk about the divide in our culture and how we can stand for truth while still loving others well. This is so key right now! If you want to connect with Amelia or get a copy of her book, I've included links below. I'd highly recommend giving it a read - it blessed me tremendously. From $200k to $20 Million: A Christ-Centered Approach to Wealth

I'm back with another faith-focused chat that I think you'll find super valuable. Today I had the pleasure of talking with Wyatt Simon, a real estate investor who has built an incredible $20 million portfolio starting with just a $200k line of credit. In our laid-back discussion, Wyatt shares his origin story of how he got into real estate investing, including the mindset shifts and practical steps he took. I think you'll be encouraged and motivated by his perspective on using wealth and assets to glorify God, rather than hoarding riches for selfish gain. We also talk about common obstacles that hold people back from financial growth and stability. Wyatt offers some great advice on getting out of your own way, doubling down on your talents, and hiring out the rest. A few key takeaways: - Mindset is key - believe you're worth what you say you're worth and develop the discipline to stick to it - Focus on your highest-value tasks and outsource the rest - Interdependence is powerful - do what you're uniquely gifted at so we can all prosper Whether you're hoping to grow in financial wisdom or be inspired by Wyatt's faith-fueled mindset, I think you'll enjoy our conversation. A Wife's Ultimatum: Finding Redemption From Sexual Sin

I recently had an impactful chat with Logan Hufford, a man who has an incredible story of finding hope and healing from sexual addiction. Logan was trapped in a cycle of porn, affairs, and seeing prostitutes for years. He felt overwhelmed by shame and like there was no way out. But when his wife gave him an ultimatum to get help or lose his family, it was a wake-up call. In this video, Logan walks through his journey to recovery. He shares about the Christ-centered 12-step program he joined, about retraining his brain and building new neural pathways, and the vital role community played. I loved hearing how Logan emphasizes recovery must address all areas - spiritual, scientific, and practical. Just "getting your heart right" isn't enough. Lasting change requires tangible actions too. Logan also talks about resources that were helpful for him, like the Psalms, his Instagram account @nolongerinbondage, and the Conquer Series. I hope Logan's story gives hope to anyone feeling trapped in sexual sin or addiction. There is a way forward, and people who will walk with you. Recovery is possible through God's redemption and the support of others. What stood out to you most from Logan's journey? What questions do you have for him about the recovery process? How One Man's Mission Trip Sparked a Movement to Rescue Sex Trafficking Victims

I recently had the privilege of chatting with Kenny Sacht, founder of Wipe Every Tear. His story is so compelling - while on a mission trip, he witnessed firsthand the horrors of sex trafficking that so many vulnerable young women face. As a father of five daughters, his heart broke and he felt called to do something. What began as a desire to help just one victim transform into a life of freedom has blossomed into an entire organization rescuing and restoring dozens of precious lives. In this interview, Kenny shares: - The origins of Wipe Every Tear and how his passion to help was ignited - Practical ways average people can get involved in supporting victims - Stories of survivors and how love and education is changing their lives - Why we must see all people, even perpetrators, through God's eyes I was so moved by Kenny's vision to simply "love them justly" - no judgment, no hero complex. Just meeting victims right where they're at with the heart of Jesus. If you feel stirred to help or learn more, check out the links below! I'd love to hear your thoughts in the comments too. Violence in Politics: A Call to Prayer and Renewal of the Mind LIVEstream Replay

Today's Faithful Friday LIVE, Johnny discusses yet another attempt on former President Donald J. Trump's life, as he tried to enjoy a game of golf on Sunday. The Scripture focus is Romans 12:2 (ESV), which reads:"Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.""Violence in Politics: A Call to Prayer and Renewal of the Mind" will cover topics such as:1. Prayer for Unity and Healing: Regardless of political or religious views, we need to unite in prayer for the safety and protection of our nation's leaders, including former President Donald Trump.2. Media Responsibility: The power of media influence should be acknowledged, and the language used to describe political figures can have real-world consequences, as seen in recent weeks. The incessant comparisons to Hitler over the last 12 years have no doubt had a direct impact. The Mainstream media doesn't just have a rhetoric problem, they have a heart problem. #HeartsMustChange3. Biblical Call for Transformation: Romans 12:2 calls us to reject worldly division and seek the renewal of our minds to discern God's will, focusing on what is good, acceptable, and perfect.4. Protecting Life Above Politics: No one should face death threats or violence for their political role or candidacy—our faith calls us to value life and seek peace for ALL.This episode is sure to be 🔥🔥🔥 so grab your Bibles and buckle up!Don't miss out! Do you ever feel stuck in a career or life rut? My chat today with midlife career change coach Lisa Mustard is packed with inspiration. Lisa shares her own story of burning out in counseling and having a "wake-up call" at 40. Rather than staying stuck, she got curious about her skills and passions. Equipping Impoverished Churches: Raw Faith Amidst Persecution with Dr. David Chotka

I recently had the privilege of chatting with Dr. David Chotka, a pastor and author who has traveled the world equipping persecuted and impoverished churches. His stories of seeing the raw faith of believers in places like Ukraine and Uganda firsthand were incredibly inspiring. These persecuted Christians had next to nothing materially, yet their joy and trust in God in the midst of horrific circumstances was profound. Dr. Chotka shared transparently about his own journey with his wife's battle with a wasting muscle disease. After years of praying, they realized they needed to shift their focus from seeking healing to seeking the Healer himself. Soon after, on a trip to serve churches in Africa, Dr. Chotka witnessed his wife miraculously healed after over 20 years of living with her condition worsening. It's a powerful testament to what God can do when we seek him above all else! As always, share your thoughts in the comments below!Podmatch:Want to be a podcast guest? Respectfully Disagreeing in a Polarized World - Philip Blackett's 5-Step Method

My guest today is Philip Blackett, an author, consultant, and entrepreneur with an intriguing background. We get into some interesting topics like respectfully disagreeing in today's polarized climate and how Philip's Christian faith transformed him from having more liberal leanings to adopting a conservative worldview. I was drawn to Philip's book "Disagree Without Disrespect" and his framework for having debates and tough conversations while building relationships. He shares a simple 5-step approach that anyone can apply to politics, religion, family matters - you name it! Philip also opens up about his personal journey shifting from liberal to conservative beliefs within the Black community, which became the premise for his book "Jesus Over Black." We talk about the importance of basing your politics on biblical principles rather than personality or peer pressure. And with the 2024 election heating up, Philip offers great advice for Christians thinking through who to vote for when both sides have flaws. Guys, this conversation barely scratched the surface! Philip drops so much wisdom here on voting, the church, scripture, and more. I could have talked with him for hours. Bringing the Bible to Life: Behind the Scenes with a Christian Media Producer

I recently had an awesome chat with my guest Craig about how Christians can use media and film to positively impact culture. As a video producer, Craig shared some fascinating behind-the-scenes stories of creating biblical documentaries and traveling to the Holy Land. Here's the key takeaway: We don't have to ask Hollywood's permission anymore. With affordable equipment and online training available, Christians can create high-quality, God-honoring content that engages audiences. Craig's organization, Appian Media, is a great example of using media to inspire people with the truth of Scripture. They've produced dozens of hours of free videos, podcasts and other resources to help reengage people with the Bible. I'd love to hear your thoughts on this conversation! What kind of content would you be interested in creating or consuming as a Christian? How could we support each other in using modern media for the glory of God? Let me know in the comments below. From Manuscript to Published: An Author's Journey to Seeing the Unseen

I recently had the joy of chatting again with my mom, DeAnna Sanders. As some of you may remember, she joined me last year when she was still writing her book. Identity in Christ: Moving Past Labels Like Anxiety and Depression

I recently had the pleasure of chatting with Healy Ikerd, a licensed counselor with over 15 years of experience integrating biblical truth and mental health guidance. As someone striving to parent gender-confused children from a Biblical perspective, I was thrilled to pick Healy's brain. We covered so much helpful wisdom for anyone seeking Christ-centered solutions for anxiety, depression, and other struggles. A few key takeaways: - God cares more about our holiness than our happiness. Let's pursue what aligns with His heart, not simply what feels good. - Emotions are a gift from God, but shouldn't be what guides us. We can acknowledge them without letting them rule us. - Our identity is in Christ alone. We aren't defined by anxiety, depression, past hurts, etc. We're defined by who God says we are. I'd love to hear your thoughts and experiences on this topic! Has biblical truth shaped your mental health journey? Let me know in the comments. Marxism, Gender Ideology, and the Plot to Undermine Families

I'm back with another insightful conversation that I think you'll really enjoy. Today I spoke with Joy Pullmann, Executive Editor at The Federalist, about her new book, False Flag: Why Queer Politics Mean the End of America. Joy offers an in-depth look at how the LGBT movement and sexual politics aim to undermine the family unit and traditional values that have upheld our civilization for generations. While an uncomfortable topic for some, I believe it's a critical one to address openly and honestly. In our chat, Joy helps peel back the layers on the coordinated effort to dismantle the building blocks of society. We also discuss practical ways everyday citizens can get involved in local politics to push back against destructive cultural influences. I found so much of our discussion enlightening and empowering. My hope is that it inspires thoughtful reflection and activism within your own communities. If you feel moved to dig deeper on this topic, please check out Joy's book over at Bookshop.org. Just search for her name and the title. The Social Justice Backlash: Protecting Faith in Counseling

I recently had the pleasure of chatting with Dawn Irons, a counselor educator with over 15 years of experience in private practice. She shared some eye-opening insights into the rising influence of social justice ideology in counseling programs and how it can negatively impact religious clients. Dawn explained how today's counseling students receive very biased training that pits protected classes against each other. Many programs aggressively push LGBTQ causes while dismissing religious beliefs as something to "correct." This prevents therapeutic self-exploration and infringes on clients' cultural rights. We discussed the importance of informed consent so people can choose counselors who respect their worldview. Dawn also offered practical tips for religious counselors to stand up professionally while avoiding legal trouble. Overall, it was an enlightening discussion about protecting diversity of thought in counseling. Dawn wants to equip therapists to serve people of faith well, not treat them as problems to fix. Let me know what intrigued or surprised you most! And stay tuned - we talked about Dawn's upcoming book that dives deeper into these topics from a clinical perspective.Parenting Gender Confused Children Support Group:https://faithfullyengaged.com/support-group/Podmatch:Want to be a podcast guest? Guarding Against Deception: Seeking Biblical Truth in a Confusing World

In this Faithful Friday episode, Johnny addresses the prevalent issue of deception in today's world, drawing parallels to themes discussed with Ari Mendelson, the author of the Kingmaker series. Johnny highlights the deceptive tactics often seen in politics and other areas of life, using 2 Timothy 4:3-4 as the foundation for understanding and combating deception. He emphasizes the importance of sound doctrine and the dangers of seeking teachings that only satisfy personal desires. Through a thorough examination of scripture, Johnny encourages listeners to seek truth and stay grounded in their faith, even in the face of misleading messages.Parenting Gender Confused Children Support Group:https://faithfullyengaged.com/support-group/Podmatch: Want to be a podcast guest? Redemption and Persuasion: An Author's Cautionary AI Tale

I recently had the pleasure of chatting with author Ari Mendelson about his fascinating Kingmaker book series. Ari's personal journey of rediscovering his Jewish faith and learning ancient Hebrew texts using memory techniques was truly inspiring. But what really captured my attention was the underlying premise of his books - the terrifying prospect of AI "persuasion technology" being weaponized to manipulate human behavior. Ari vividly describes his villain using algorithms to electronically seduce women and influence families. It raised profound ethical questions around consent, free will, and moral culpability that gave me chills! I don't want to give away any spoilers, but Ari ultimately proposes that the key to resisting high-tech persuasion is to see the world as a collection of "tiny facts" rather than easily manipulated grand narratives. Understanding truth at a granular level protects us from the tyranny of weaponized storytelling. Ari also stresses the importance of sharing stories that reflect our values. Politics flows downstream from culture, so we need compelling counter narratives to push back against the woke dominance of pop culture. Ari sees his novels as a small contribution to that effort - but we all have a role to play. From Atheist & Addict to New Life - One Woman's Incredible Redemption Story

I recently had an inspiring chat with Caleigh Weichbrodt, who has an incredible testimony of being radically transformed from hardcore atheism and addiction to finding new life in Jesus. In this video, Caleigh vulnerably shares her journey into sexual addiction and prostitution, and how she eventually found freedom through God's grace and deliverance ministry. I was so moved by her realization that despite all she had done, God still wanted her and had an amazing purpose for her life. Caleigh also talks about the importance of knowing our identity in Christ, and how healing begins when we fully grasp how loved we are by Him. She offers hope and practical advice for others struggling with shame or addiction. I found so much wisdom in Caleigh's thoughts on getting involved in politics, the power of prayer, and how we can make a real difference standing up for truth - no matter where we live. She challenges all of us to use our voice. If you need some inspiration today, I encourage you to hear this powerful testimony of redemption. Balancing Body Image and Faith: Understanding Our Worth in God

In this Faithful Friday episode, Johnny delves into the complexities of body image issues, often perceived as a predominantly female concern, but affecting men as well. Reflecting on his recent conversation with Eleanor Clark, Johnny explores the societal pressures of body positivity and the importance of grounding our self-worth in Biblical truth. Through scriptures such as Psalm 25:5 and 1 Corinthians 6:19-20, he emphasizes that while caring for our bodies is essential, our ultimate hope must be in God. From Body Positivity to Body Neutrality - A More Sustainable Approach?

Hey friends! I recently had the pleasure of chatting with Eleanor Clark, a fellow therapist who specializes in treating eating disorders and struggling with body image. Eleanor shares so openly about her own journey recovering from an eating disorder, and how that personal experience led her into this field and helped grow her passion for helping others. I found it insightful how she talks about the uniqueness of each person's eating disorder - it's not a one-size-fits-all approach. A big theme from our discussion was around the concept of body neutrality rather than body positivity. Eleanor explains how body positivity, while sounding good in theory, often sets people up for failure and guilt when they can't live up to loving their bodies all the time. She realized the approach of body neutrality was more sustainable for her clients long-term. Towards the end, Eleanor also opens up about starting her podcast and speaking out on some controversial issues around gender-affirming care for minors. It was so inspiring to hear how she found the courage to use her voice, even when it goes against the grain. I'd love to hear your thoughts in the comments below! The Bible Compares Us to Clay - This Artist Lives It

I'm back with an inspiring chat with ceramic artist Morgan McCarver. She shares her journey into pottery after back surgery ended her dance career. Through sculpting clay, Morgan deepened her connection with God. The Bible compares us to clay and God the potter - molding and shaping us. Morgan found healing by leaning into her creative talents. She advises finding your creative outlet to grow closer to God. We all express creativity differently - even in spreadsheets or organization! God speaks through our unique passions. Morgan also runs her own pottery business, selling online and at festivals. She is transparent about the challenges but keeps going because of her purpose. Balancing a day job allows her to pace herself physically while still pursuing her dream. Finally, hear the story behind Morgan's new book God the Artist. After failure years ago, she surrendered her writing plans to God. His perfect timing brought the book together - and a publisher! Let Morgan's journey inspire you to embrace your creativity, follow your purpose, and trust God's plans. What stuck out to you most? Finding Hope in God's Story: Understanding Suicide, Purpose, and Faith

In this episode of Faithful Fridays, Johnny delves into a thought-provoking topic that stemmed from a billboard he saw advertising the new suicide hotline number, 988. He reflects on the importance of the message but also critiques the cultural mindset that places too much emphasis on individual stories and accomplishments. Drawing from Scripture, Johnny emphasizes God's role in shaping our lives and fulfilling His purposes through us. He shares verses like Ephesians 2:10, Proverbs 16:9, and Psalm 138:8 to underscore the importance of trusting in God's plan rather than relying solely on our own abilities.Parenting Gender Confused Children Support Group:https://faithfullyengaged.com/support-group/Podmatch: Want to be a podcast guest? Modeling The Difference: A Pastor's Journey From Near-Death To Inner Peace

I recently had an eye-opening chat with pastor and author Robert Bass about the connection between our physical and spiritual health. As someone who used to struggle to balance those areas of my life, our conversation really hit home. After a bad motorcycle accident, Robert learned firsthand how being physically healthy can aid recovery. But more than that, he discovered the deeper links between caring for our bodies and nurturing our relationship with God. I loved Robert's perspective on living purposefully through that connection, not chasing external destinations. He shared how having inner peace, joy, and love - despite tough situations - attracts others who want what we have. His advice? Ask God to transform you from within, let your "light shine", and model the difference to those around you. If you want to hear more of Robert's wisdom, check out his book "Hidden Fruit" on the Fruit of the Holy Spirit. He's offering a free sample for my listeners at hiddenfruitbook.com (use code SAMPLE). Let me know what you think! What stood out from our chat? How do you balance your physical and spiritual health? I'd love to hear your experiences in the comments.Parenting Gender Confused Children Support Group:https://faithfullyengaged.com/support-group/Podmatch: Want to be a podcast guest?
