Summit in a Box – Krista Miller Virtual Summits are now the most popular way to grow your online business. You can be in ministry and hold revivals online. I know. I did that when the COVID shutdowns first happened. Our ministry was one of the first in the nation to hold an online ministry summit after the shutdown.We had 40 some pastors and ministers from around the nation come on the program over three days. We had over 700 visitors during the summit as we discussed the situation in light of Biblical prophecy and the need for repentance, etc.But, I pieced that summit together using about four different platforms!  It took three of us to run it when we went live… plus the emails and promotions… It was a success… but it was the LAST ONE I did for over two years…Then, a month or two ago, the Lord put on my heart it was time for another summit of pastors to discuss prophecy in light of current events – again!  I’m being honest, I was not thrilled He had put that in my heart and mind… amen!But, a week or so after that day, I seen an email or something that caught my attention. It was from a wonderful young lady named Krista Miller and her business is called, “SUMMIT IN A BOX!”  Folks, I’m telling you, this was an answer to my prayers. Amen!  I am so impressed by what I’ve learned so far… and we are now in the planning stages of holding our next online ministry summit… and I will be incorporating the summit concept into our podcast and marketing program as well.  That’s how simple of a process Krista has made this – even I am wanting to do more summits!  Amen!Krista has this summit thing down to a fine art. She has helped so many people to run their summits, gain followers, make sales, etc. – I call her the “Summit Queen.” Amen!If you are looking at a way to generate an increase in whatever it is you are doing, you need to grab a pen and paper and take notes today. Vertical Momentum Resiliency Richard KaufmanLet me ask you a question…Have you ever failed in life? Have you ever done things you are not proud of? How did you deal with it?For many, it can turn to violence. It can turn to drugs. It can turn to alcohol. It can turn into purely destructive habits. Eventually, it turns inward even more and becomes self-destructive. Often to the point of no return. People just loose hope and give up.My guest and I are here today to tell you, you don’t have to give in to those temptations and succumb to destruction.Richard Kaufman’s father left when he was just 3 years old. He grew up moving from school to school. He dropped out of school in 9th grade. He had already become addicted to alcohol by the time he was 12 years old. He joined the Army at age 17.Because of these untreated alcohol issues coupled with the immaturity, Richard eventually was discharged from the military. This led him to becoming hooked on drugs and even found himself homeless.He eventually was arrested and then given the option to either attend rehab or go to prison.He made the correct choice and went to rehab. Eventually, he was able to obtain a special good conduct waiver and reenlisted in the Army. He spent a total of 24 years in military service. But even that was not without mishap. I’ll let him tell the story on that…On that infamous day of 9-11, Richard, after seeing the tragedy that had unfolded, made the decision that he was going to change his life forever. He dedicated himself to helping others. On the darkest day in American history, Richard Kaufman seen the light and changed his life.Now honorably discharged, married with 3 children, he is sharing his story about his journey. Fitness and Faith - Derrick JohnsonPhysical fitness is something that every person, regardless of age, needs to keep up on. When we think of physical fitness, a lot of time we think of dirty gyms, nasty locker rooms, big hunks that smell and look down on anyone that is not like them. Amen.But it is not that at all. When I was growing up in high school, I was anything but fit. I played sports, but was not considered an “athlete” by any stretch of the imagination. But, once I joined the military, they “kind of have a way” of getting you into shape right away. I was impressed with what I had become and decided to continue down that road of physical fitness. This lasted through my time in the military and then as a police officer. My main outlet was running. I loved to run. I was putting in anywhere between 12-15 miles running a day, plus the weight room, etc.  That discipline was a daily routine in my life. But, as a police officer, once I was injured, I have to admit, I let things slip. Amen. No matter what our past may be all about. Explain that for us…I know you talk about the “runners high” and things like that when you push your body past what it (the body) thinks is the limit. Can you share with us a little bit about that…I loved working out in the morning. In the Army, I would wake up at 430am, drive to the unit and go for a run 3 or 4 mile run before PT at 6am.  I just loved working out in the morning.  When did you – and when do you recommend – for people to get their workouts in?How does physical fitness relate to business success, relationship success – and our own self esteem?I enjoyed working out on my own. Competing with myself. Lifting more each week, going faster each week, etc. What are your thoughts on working out alone or with others?How does our physical fitness relate to our spirituality?You share we should make a list of things we DO NOT WANT and the “flip the pain” into fuel to move forward. Church Apps – Michael ByrdTechnology can sometimes be a “four letter word” when it comes to how churches feel about it. The truth is, technology is what helps to spread the Gospel around the world faster than at any time since the days of Jesus. Amen!Think about this, 200 years ago, if you wanted to go and minister in, let’s say Africa. You would spend years preparing. Then travel for a couple of months or more, sailing on a ship, until you were finally there. You would not just do a weekend revival, get back on the ship and go home. No! You would spend many months, sometimes years, ministering there before you left.  Then, with the invention of steamships, you could cut that travel time to a week or so! Praise God!  Now, you could go over there, spend a few months and come back home. Often within the same year. With the invention of airplanes and commercial jet travel, you could go anywhere in the world in just a day or two! Praise God!  Minister for a few days and fly back home. Maybe even in the same 7 day week!That’s what technology has accomplished! Amen! Using technology almost ALWAYS helps you to spread the Gospel faster, more often and a lot easier than at any time in human history!Computers now allow us to do this easier than ever before! IF you know what to do and how to use the technology.Unfortunately, many churches are not as proficient at this as they should be. Sometimes, it is the technology itself. For others, it’s the cost factor. For others it’s “new” and they are afraid of using it.Well, having been in online ministry since 2009, I’m telling you right now, the Lord allowed computer technology to be used in this day and time to help further the accomplishment of the “Great Commission” faster than ever before. It is not possible to minister around the world, anywhere there is an internet or wifi or cell phone signal – simultaneously, while you are sitting behind your computer or preaching from the platform in your church. AGAINST THE ODDS – Anthony RazzanoImagine this…your family has a linage of football greatness. As a young, 12 year old boy, you know this is in your blood too.  Your family, your coaches – everyone, is telling you to “never give up” on your dreams.Very often, we allow things to hold us back. We get angry things did not turn out the way we pictured or planned. We end up accepting these limiting beliefs as “the truth” of who we are.  But, in reality, it’s not the setbacks that define us. It’s how we respond to the setbacks. It’s how WE DECIDE HOW WE RESPOND – that’s what truly determines the outcome.The Bible says, in Proverbs 24 that “A righteous man may fall seven times and rise again.”  I like to say, “If you fall seven times, then get up eight!” Amen!Our guest today knows all too well how your attitude will determine your altitude…At the age of 12, Anthony Razzano followed the script of many young boys. He wanted to play football. It was in his family DNA. Amen!  But, on the evening of October 31, 1987 as he was preparing to play in an important Pop Warner football game under the lights at the historic Taggart Stadium, things changed in one instant of time.With the flick of one match in his family's garage, a catastrophic incident forced Anthony out a side door, engulfed in a ball of flames. Neighbors acted quickly to extinguish the fire and summon paramedics, who rushed him to a nearby hospital. He was then airlifted was transported by helicopter to one of the top Burn Trauma Centers in the country, the West Penn Burn Unit in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. While the medical staff worked to save his life the doctors explained the seriousness of the situation to his family. His family was told to make funeral arrangements. The doctors said, they would do everything in their power to save his life, but did not give any hope for him to survive. Zero percent. They said he probably would not live through the night.But God had a different plan. Amen! After battling multiple bouts of sepsis and receiving over 134 blood transfusions - and being given his last rights three times, he survived! Amen! Anthony was released from the hospital on January 14, 1988. When Anthony walked out of West Penn, he didn’t walk alone. With his family by his side and halls lined with patients, medical staff and members of the media applauding, he beat the odds. But surviving wasn’t the end of the journey. He now had to face the painful recovery, the intense physical therapy, and every other obstacle in his way to live a meaningful life. Although he lost the fingers on his left hand and suffered scarring all over his body, he continued to fight back and ultimately resumed playing football for the New Castle Red Hurricanes. In fact, again defying the odds, Anthony was a two year letterman on the varsity football team, and starting outside linebacker his senior year. Amen!Anthony knows his survival was a blessing from God. He believes he was blessed with this miraculous recovery for the purpose of inspiring others to keep fighting when they are hardest hit and the odds are stacked against them. Against YOU. No matter what it is! Amen!Anthony is now a Certified Public Accountant. No back up plan. I was 100% committed to the Army (and my record showed it). But, I had 10 days’ notice that my lifelong dream was over due to the “Reduction in Force” which took place in 1989, starting with the officer corps.It took me a good 12 years of bouncing around to get over that. Vanguard Veteran – Kathy GallowitzFor those of you who have followed this program for a while, you’ve heard some of my stories from the military. In fact, just two and half years after leaving my military career, is when I came the decision to end my life. I had not meaning. I had not money. I was in a dead end job, etc. etc. etc.If it had not been for that act if Divine intervention that night on January 29, 1992 at 11:35pm ET in that little empty apartment in Columbus, GA – on January 30th 1992, I would not have been here on this earth.Leaving service is hard. A lot harder than I had imagined. I left service thinking, “I’m former Army Officer, I’ll find somebody that wants to hire me pretty quick.”  There were almost NO systems in place back in July 1989 for transitioning veterans. None.Even with the systems and resources that are in place today, we are still failing to help the many veterans who are transitioning from a life of meaning, order and familiarity – to one of uncertainty. More than 2.6 million Americans have served in the Armed Forces since that tragic day of 9/11.Almost 240 thousand military members leave active duty each and every year, ready to help companies and communities with their skill sets.Retired Air Force Lt. Colonel Kathy Gallowitz has formed an absolutely essential organization called, “Vanguard Veterans.” She served 29 years in the Air Force as a nurse and also as a Public Affairs Officer. Psalm 34 verse 7, which says, “The Lord has heard this poor man cry and shall deliver him from all his troubles.”  That one verse, changed my life forever. Although it was only 2 ½ years since I left the active duty when that night happened, I still struggled for the next 10 years, until I found my calling as a police officer. That job gave me purpose again. I was born again from that night in January 1992. I even attended Bible School, was Ordained in 2001. I was a Chaplain for our department, etc. But the struggle was real for a very, very long time. I wish there was a program like this back then. A Prisoner’s Pardon – Michelle JacksonAs we witness the continuous degradation of our society, one thing that continues to catch news headlines is the rampant violent crime happening all over America right now. Mainly in our inner cities, but it is not exclusive to those cities.Teenagers taking guns to school. Elementary kids taking guns to school. Kids killing kids over things that used to result in fist fights. Now, they settle it with guns.Add to that, the ever increasing alure of “money and fame” by so called, music icons whose lyrics does nothing but promote violence and things like that.“Well, Brother Bob, that’s just the culture. The music reflects what’s happening in the streets.”My response, “Why is happening to begin with?”  What has caused us to accept it as normal?Take just one city in America.  Chicago. There have been more murders there over the last ten years than the military experienced over ten years in Afghanistan. Think about that. But yet, it’s just “normal.”Here in Baltimore, whenever this is a brazen, daylight shooting, inevitably, during a news interview, someone will say something to the effect of, “Well, that’s just living in Baltimore.”Why have we accepted this as normal?What can be done about it?What are some of the personal ramifications that others experience, besides the victims and the perpetrators?Our guest today is Michelle Jackson. Can explain that for us?I was listening to a radio interview several days ago, and the expert they had on was attributing a lot of the youth violence we have been seeing and experiencing to several factors. But the one he kept coming back to was “no authority figure in the family.” He said that mothers were doing their best, but when a boy hit his teenage years and that testosterone was kicking in, there came a point when the mother could no longer invoke a sense of fear and retribution in the boy – but would actually begin to fear him a bit. Have you seen or discovered any information in this area?What about the church influence?  Do you feel the church has failed in this area?I see in your book you discussed the fact that churches are failing to address sin. Explain that for us.One guest I had on a few years back, I can’t remember the name right now, he said the church leadership, especially in the African-American communities, has sided up with the politicians for political favors and even monetary favors. This has led to a watering down of the Gospel and actual care for the members. All of this, coupled with the social programs aimed at destroying the family unit in favor of “Government is your provider” type mentality, has actually worked to the opposite effect of their intentions. How do you see this issue? Back on the topic of your book, “A Prisoner’s Pardon,” I read in one instance, you asked your brother “Why” he kept doing these things. His response was because he “thought he could get away with it.”  How true that statement is. Not just for criminals, but for US as well. Whenever we do something that we KNOW is wrong in God’s eyes, it’s because: A. We want to, and B. We think we can get away with it. Often it is just because we tell ourselves, “I’ll ask forgiveness later.” Can you shed some light on that area for us?In your book, you present a very compelling example of what happens when a person “represents themselves” in a court of law. Chaselynn Fitness – Chase Williams pt 2During the COVID lockdowns, a lot of businesses found themselves in deep, deep financial chaos. Most businesses run on a shoestring anyway. They have bills coming and the rely on the consistent income to make sure those bills get paid, including salaries, etc. The government reaction to COVID took everyone by surprise. The draconian shutdowns were especially tough for business owners who had poured their life savings into the business, only to be told, “tough.” I never could figure out how or why it was not allowed for small, mom & pop stores to remain open and only allow one or two people at a time to come, shop, spend some money and allow the business owners to remain viable – but it was OK to allow big box stores to remain open and have 500 people inside, six feet apart.But that is not the reason for today’s discussion. The point I’m making is there were massive, massive shifts in businesses during the COVID lockdowns. Some businesses closed and never recovered. Some are still suffering today. But – for others, it was a time of transition. A time to reflect on what was important and use that time to make changes for the better. This applied to individuals as well. Some people longed to go back to the 9-5 grind while others became entrepreneurs and pursued their God given calling outside of the norm.That is what happened with our guest today.Chase Williams was the fitness director in the corporate world. All was well, but she still had a desire to step out on her own. She knew God had given her a calling and a passion. The COVID shutdown allowed her the time to turn that passion into action! Chaselynn Fitness – Chase Williams pt 1During the COVID lockdowns, a lot of businesses found themselves in deep, deep financial chaos. Most businesses run on a shoestring anyway. They have bills coming and the rely on the consistent income to make sure those bills get paid, including salaries, etc. The government reaction to COVID took everyone by surprise. The draconian shutdowns were especially tough for business owners who had poured their life savings into the business, only to be told, “tough.” I never could figure out how or why it was not allowed for small, mom & pop stores to remain open and only allow one or two people at a time to come, shop, spend some money and allow the business owners to remain viable – but it was OK to allow big box stores to remain open and have 500 people inside, six feet apart.But that is not the reason for today’s discussion. The point I’m making is there were massive, massive shifts in businesses during the COVID lockdowns. Some businesses closed and never recovered. Some are still suffering today. But – for others, it was a time of transition. A time to reflect on what was important and use that time to make changes for the better. This applied to individuals as well. Some people longed to go back to the 9-5 grind while others became entrepreneurs and pursued their God given calling outside of the norm.That is what happened with our guest today.Chase Williams was the fitness director in the corporate world. All was well, but she still had a desire to step out on her own. She knew God had given her a calling and a passion. The COVID shutdown allowed her the time to turn that passion into action!
