Jesus Begins His Ministry

Baptism + Temptation of Jesus
Ian's teaching this week on Mark 1:9-13, on the beginning of Jesus' ministry. Jesus' baptism was an example for his followers, and how he can relate to us in temptation through his time in the wilderness.

Preparing the way of the Lord
This was the first Sunday in our new series through the book of Mark. Steve taught on Mark 1:1-8. This was a description of John the Baptist and his ministry, preparing the way for Jesus to come.

Core Values | Walk in Truth + Led by the Holy Spirit
In the final week of our Core Values series, Steve explained that while many churches distinguish between being bible based churches or Spirit led churches, the two go hand in hand.

Core Values | Love One Another + Proclaim the Gospel
Week two of our core Values series. This week's teaching was on the values of Love One Another and Proclaim the Gospel. These are foundational for who we are as a church on mission to reach, teach, and release people with the gospel message.

Core Values | Glorify Jesus + Pursue Excellence
Steve talked about two of our core values this week. At Ekklesia, we want to Glorify Jesus above all else. We also want to Pursue Excellence as an act of honoring God. As well, we introduce our next texting service. You can text in any prayer request you may have or text the word "beyond" to 833-304-2585 to be added to a list of action steps that will be texted out on Monday mornings.

The Prayers of the Faithful
James 5:12-20 finishes with a call to prayer in all things. Steve challenged out church body to come forward and receive prayer for sin, sickness, and forgiveness. It was a powerful day where the Holy Spirit moved.

Life is a Mist
Steve taught on James 4:11-5:6. James challenged his audience to stop thinking of themselves over others. They kept what was for God for themselves, a cautious reminder for us today.

Resistance Starts with Submission
Brad’s teaching on James 4:7-10 shed light on the idea that God doesn’t want us to try our way into being good Christians. He wants us to submit to His leading in our lives.

God Desires Your Devotion
God declares he is a jealous God. He doesn't want part of us, he wants all of us. James 4:4-6

Life Without Prayer
James 4:1-3 is clear that life without prayer produces a frustration with God. When we operate in our own power, we are never satisfied with the results.

Wisdom From Above
The wisdom of God is not like what the world would encourage us to do. James makes the distinction in James 3:13-18.

Words Have Power
James 3:1-12 is a convicting reminder that what we say has the power to do good or do harm. Jesus followers are to pursue Christ in all things and the way we talk will be a byproduct of the condition of our hears.

Dead Faith
Ken Carson brought another convicting teaching from James 2:14-26. Real faith in Jesus for salvation has evidence in our daily lives.

Impartial Neighbors
James 2:1-13 gives clear direction that no matter someones status or position, Jesus followers are to show no partiality. We are instead called to love everyone as our neighbors.

Faith is Action
James 1:22-27 is all about actions. Jesus followers are called to not just hear the truth of God's word, but also do what it says. We are called to live our our faith.

Listening With Humility
In James 1:19-21, James warns against letting anger blind you and directs us to live with humility and seek God through his word.

The Allure of Temptation
Steve continues in James 1:13-18 where James relates temptation to sin to the trials we may experience.

Joy in Trials
Our new series in the Book of James began with Steve teaching through James 1:1-12 as James introduces the book with the idea that trials are often used by God for our good and His glory.

God Dwells With Us

Shining with Glory
Steve's teaching on Exodus 34-35 was a reminder of how good God is and how he welcomes us into his presence.

The Golden Calf
Ian's teaching on Exodus 32 reminded us how quick we are to create idols to worship when our worship fails to focus on God.

Cleaned, Clothed and Anointed
Steve unpacked Exodus 28-31. God gave instructions to the priests and the tabernacle but there is more meaning for us than what you might expect.
