Pastor Andy Cass
Sometimes we dress Jesus in outfits He never wore—branding Him based on our disappointment, expectations, or pain. But the real Jesus doesn’t need a rebrand—He just wants to be remembered as He truly is: Savior, King, and Friend.
TEXT:
Luke 23:9–11, Luke 23:39–43, 2 Kings 9:6, 2 Kings 9:11–13, Zechariah 9:9, 2 Samuel 6:12–16, 2 Samuel 6:22, 2 Timothy 3:5, Luke 19:35–40
NOTES:
-Today I want to remind you: brand has power—more than we’d like to admit. The same is true when it comes to Jesus. How you see Him will shape how you think, act, and live.
-How has your disappointment dressed (branded) Jesus?
-How has your desires dressed Jesus?
Superhero Jesus:
“Jesus shows up just in time... until He doesn’t.”
Genie Jesus:
“I do my part, and He delivers exactly what I want.”
“It’s like the vending machine ate your prayer.”
Firefighter Jesus:
“I got my salvation card—now I’m good!”
“Jesus isn’t just fire insurance for emergencies—He wants to be part of every season.”
Cotton Ball Cloud Jesus:
“He’s beautiful and distant—probably too busy.”
