Saul sat under a tamarisk tree — consumed by insecurity, fear, and self-preservation. One built a future; the other destroyed what was entrusted to him. He looked forward, trusted God, and built something that would last. Saul sat under a tamarisk tree — a symbol of entitlement, fear, and isolation. He chose control over surrender, comfort over calling. The Contrast: Abraham’s heart: humble, faithful, centered on God’s promises. Saul’s heart: insecure, prideful, disconnected from God’s presence. Abraham planted; Saul uprooted.
