Summary
Elon Musk has officially moved the headquarters of his social media platform, X, from San Francisco, California to Bastrop, Texas. The move follows Musk's previous statements about relocating the company to Austin, Texas. The change in headquarters coincides with the company's closure of its San Francisco office and the relocation of employees to the Bastrop location. While the move was initially motivated by Musk's disagreement with a California law regarding transgender students, the transition had been in the works for several months, with X signing a lease in Bastrop and subleasing its San Francisco office space earlier this year. This move brings X closer to other Musk-owned companies in Texas, including SpaceX and The Boring Company, and further strengthens the state's position as a hub for Musk's enterprises.
