Hope Rogers, USA Women's Eagles No 223 has been around the park as an International rugby player. On the eve of her 28th cap she chats with Earful of Dirt’s Aaron Castro about her rugby journey from high school to present day.

Following Rounds 3's matches we were able to speak with Captain Gaelle Hermet and Head Coach Annick Hayraud of France, Head Coach Glenn Moore of the Black Ferns, Captain Elissa Alarie of Canada Women, and Head Coach Simon Middleton of the Red Roses.

Aaron sits down with Kristine Sommer to discuss her journey in advance of the 2019 Super Series. Kristine is a Lock/Flanker for the USA Women Eagles. Kristine was a multi-sport athlete growing up and thru High School before she found Rugby at UCSB. At every level she has achieved and always sought to better herself. In 2017 she earned her first cap as Eagle #263 and has been a key part of the tight-five since.

Aaron gives an overview of the US Women Eagles selected for the 2019 World Rugby Women's Super Series in San Diego. After that he sits down with Rob Cain to discuss most of the development year going back to the November Tour, Opportunity Development Camps, and the victory over the Women Barbarians. With the seawall in full effect, the Seattle Seawolves mauled over San Diego Legion for a last second try, thus becoming two-time MLR champs!

The 2019 Major League Rugby semifinals took place last weekend and they were a couple of show stoppers. San Diego squeaked past Rugby United New York, while Seattle handled their business against Toronto.

The 2019 Major League Rugby playoff field is set. The guys recap this past week and look forward to the Semi-Finals. Also, staff changes are happening quickly as the season draws to a close.

Houston gets its first winning streak, RUNY escapes NOLA, Toronto rolls over Glendale and Utah draws with Seattle. Featuring special guest host Craig Gridelli.

The Houston SaberCats pulled off a huge upset, beating NOLA. The San Diego Legion secured a playoff spot with a win over Utah. RUNY and Seattle are making the race for the last playoff spots very interesting.

Toronto won twice in a four day span, San Diego leaped to the top of the standings and Seattle held on to defeat RUNY in New York.

NOLA keeps bringing in the bonus points with a win over Austin, Glendale put up a record-tying 64 points against Utah, Toronto wins in last minute against Legion, and RUNY shuts out Houston.

Glendale recovers from last week’s shellacking, Utah out-muscles Austin in the second half, Toronto beats Seattle whistle to whistle, and San Diego makes a play for the top spot in MLR.

RUNY & Seattle both won close battles, San Diego crushed Glendale, and Houston couldn't keep it up in Toronto.

NOLA wins ugly against Utah, the turf gets destroyed in Houston, San Diego runs over RUNY and weather causes the postponement of Austin vs. Toronto.

The more things change, the more they stay the same. Utah, Houston, Toronto, and Austin started strong and finished poorly. The top teams (RUNY, Glendale, NOLA, San Diego, Seattle) are starting to separate themselves.

In Major League Rugby Week 10 action, RUNY scrapes by Austin, Toronto sets records against Utah, Glendale leaves it till the end against NOLA, while Seattle & San Diego get enough cards to play poker.

Houston earns its first win of the season over a team not based in Texas. Austin shows growth in a close loss to NOLA. And RUNY takes the Raptors for a ride at Coney Island.

If drama is what you crave, then MLR week 8 was just what you wanted to see. There were last minute wins, a couple blowouts, one big fight and of course a draw. The guys go over all this and more this week on Earful of Dirt.

In what would have been a crowning match for the San Diego Legion to solidify their position on top of the table sees them defeated by the visiting Toronto Arrows. The Raptors and Seawolves climb the ladder.

There was a lot of snow and a couple surprise results in Major League Rugby, while NOLA Gold found their way back to the top of the standings. Meanwhile, USA national team falter in Seattle against Uruguay. The guys break down all the action and more this week!

The guys look at all the week 5 action including tough losses in Texas for AER and SaberCats, while San Diego ascend to the top spot Major League Rugby during NOLA's bye week. And lest we forget, MLR experienced its first-ever draw over the weekend as well.

In a factually challenged edition of Earful of Dirt, the guys discuss New York handing NOLA its first loss of the season. The Legion make it three straight while the Raptors notch their first win. Finally, Seattle stayed strong at home against Toronto. All this and more in Major League Rugby week 4.

Welcome to Gold Reign and Gumbo Rugby as NOLA Gold continue their climb to the top of the standings. The Seawolves find the league tougher than their championship season, while Toronto brings a win home from Austin. The Eagles are smacked down by the Argentina XV in a contentious battle in Argentina. Canada continues their plunge.

In week two of Major League Rugby action the Utah Warriors opened on the road against Austin Elite. NOLA Gold - missing internationals - still managed to defeat the Raptors. And San Diego battled the Seawolves in hurricane-like conditions leading to a Legion win.

The first week of Major League Rugby has come and gone. It was a weekend full of parity with all matches being decided by a combined ten points. Houston SaberCats defeated Austin Elite Rugby, NOLA Gold snuck past Toronto Arrows, Rugby United New York bested San Diego and the Seattle Seawolves repeated its championship victory over Glendale Raptors.

We're five days out, time for the guys to come to blows over team standings at the start of the season. Aaron, Liam and Corey also look at the last batch of preseason matches that took place last weekend.

Lots of preseason matches over the weekend, but not for RUNY after a bus accident in Manhattan ended their planned face off with the Arrows in Buffalo. The Houston Sabercats hosted a Friday night fixture against the Austin Elite for Rugby enthusiasts that attended the National Development Summit. Glendale Raptors traveled to San Diego in a pre-season test winning 38-31. USA Rugby and Canterbury have signed a long term kit provider deal.

With Aaron lost out in the wilderness, it falls to Liam and Corey to cover all the Major League Rugby action from the weekend. Rugby United New York traveled to Boston to face the New England Free Jacks, barely making it out of there alive, while the Sabercats knocked off the Austin Blacks with relative ease.

The USA Eagles have reached 12th place in world rankings after a year's worth of hard work and the leadership of Coach Gary Gold. The guys talk over the Ireland and Romania match and look ahead to Americas Rugby Championship.

Major League Rugby announced its 2019 schedule, giving the boys plenty to talk about. They also talk through USA’s historic win over Somoa and consider Canada’s tough road through the repechage tournament to RWC2019.

The Earful of Dirt boys (at least half of them, anyway) were in Chicago last weekend for the Rugby Weekend featuring men's and women's USA teams facing New Zealanders, along with Ireland against Italy. They go over all the happenings in the Windy City, along with news from Major League Rugby.

Glendale hosted the Americas Combine last week, culminating in the Raptors losing an exhibition match to the America's Rugby Selects team 59-31. The guys also look at Major League Rugby’s representation on USA men’s team for the autumn tour as well as RUNY’s newly announced U-20 program.

The New England Free Jacks traveled north to Halifax, Nova Scotia, only to come home defeated by the Ontario Arrows. And Josh Fredlund drops in with a match report from the HSBC women’s 7s tour stop in Glendale.
