I'm discussing two topics in this episode: 1. If you're an ENFP, you have to consider your ENFP superpowers in order to choose the right work environment for yourself and be happy with your career. What is the best workplace for us ENFPs? Can we find our happiness in the corporate world or is it better to stick to smaller companies? 2. Personality typing systems allow us to better communicate to different personality types and the more we learn about them, the better. But... We should be careful about this one thing that might ruin our chances of developing some great relationships. Assuming someone's personality traits based on their personality type can cause lots of misconceptions and ultimately prevent us from meeting people properly. As an ENFP, I tried to give an example with some of my ENTP friends and how different or the same they are. Both my close friend/business partner and romantic partner are INTJs and we all seem to just make a powerhouse team. This partnering seems to really surprise some people and, granted, none of us are great on day to day tasks! However, we seem to always be on the same wavelength and can make fairly enormous and immediate impacts when we all set our minds to the same goal. On the whole I think INTJs get a very bad reputation. Mainly from people who just don't take the time to understand or can't see beneath the armor. When I was younger, and don't ask me how this was possible being an ENFP, I had (what I thought was) a highly analytical view of the world, all logic. Of course, this "supposed" analytical view wasn't really very intelligent or logical at all, because I lacked a huge wealth of knowledge about myself and human nature in general... Here's the full question sent in from an ENFP. I'm sure some of you may have found yourselves in a similar situation at some point, whatever your personality type. "I've been listening to your YouTube videos on and off and just started again as I've been having difficulties in my life. I've reached the point where I'm not sure what to do anymore. I'm burned out and have no motivation, drive, dreams, or money to do anything except stay at my dead-end job that I once again got back to because the grass wasn't greener on the other side. I had hoped to start in total the last 2 plus years a work from home job, but I know nothing about the motivation of running my own business, but I can't stand the cubicle grind in data-entry long term. My feelings get in the way of dictating what I should do in almost everything I do in my life. I've realized I can't always feel good about being a business owner because every choice of being an employee or business owner has its own pros and cons. I don't have any direction in my life, I'm all over the map, I can't choose a destination and if I do, I either get bored after a while or I can't see things through completion. Being 37 years old and making less than $14/hr with a 2-hour commute every day is not my idea of fun. It's absolute hell. Any advice in what I should do?" It seems that they don't get along very well, I've talked to each of them and they all have some kind of negative opinion about the other two.
