On this episode of the podcast I sit down with my second cousin Nick Dempsey, Nick is one of those people you meet and can’t help but feel his positivity rub off on you in some way.He has the special ability of seeing the good in everything and can really make you question what you see as a negative or a positive, he is a glass half full kind of person that has made it his mission to help others in whatever way he can.He grew up in Albury/Wodonga and lived a normal rural county life style of playing sports and learning a trade, everything seemed to be going the right direction for Nick until unfortunately on his 21st birthday he dove head first into his family pool, this resulted in C3/4 spinal injury that left Nick as a quadriplegic, since that day Nick has gone through extensive rehab and many ups and downs yet even through all this Nick still sees the world through very positive eyes and uses his story to help inspire and help others that may be struggling in some way in their life.Even though Nick and I are second cousins this was actually the first time we have officially met.Hope you all enjoy the chat and can take something away from it.Side note: This podcast has an sudden ending as the camera unfortunately cut out, sorry. Ep 54Episode 54 - Don't Let Good Get In The Way Of Great
A podcast I recorded as I was traveling up the east coast in my van making my way to my new home in Palm Beach. It’s amazing to me the amount of people that message me saying “they wish they could do what I’m doing.” This always trips me out a little as I believe what I’m doing isn’t that far out of the ordinary, I’m just traveling solo through this country making new friends and catching up with old ones along the way, I think this something we should all do more of, step outside our comfort zone and really experience life to its fullest. We never know when everything will change and how long for, so stop what you’re doing and take a big breath, think about what you want out of this life and then go into it headfirst!Enjoy!www.deanlucasracing.com Hosted on Acast. Ep 53Episode 53 - Joe McDonald & Sultan Kirby // Babying Friends, OnlyFans & Escaping Covid
Joe McDonald and Sultan Kirby: All aboard the Banter train! This one is a little different sports team! Where usually I try delve into my guests backstories and figure out what makes them tick and how they view the world, there's none of that here today.I sit down with my housemate Sultan and one of my good friends Joe to chat about anything and everything. From things that grind our gears to semi-incriminating tales of past situations. We don't really chat about anything in particular but we laugh pretty much the entire time and it's full of banter and high energy. These two guys are both hilarious and full of one liners, easy to chat with and seem to get along with eachother judging by the amount of crap that gets chatted on this podcast.Overall these two boys are brilliant energy to be around and this conversation was one of the most ridiculous and enjoyable chats I've had in a long time! Hope you enjoy the laughter! Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Ep 51Episode 51 - Cameron Shean // Pushing Limits
On this episode of the podcast I sit down with my newly found fitness coach Cameron Shean, we both linked up while training at Never Quit Burleigh and haven’t looked back since.Cam is an excellent coach that not only pushes his clients but also himself, seeing him chase after his 100% in the gym was a massive motivational factor to want to start working with him now and in the future.Cam is someone that likes to step out of his comfort zone, whether it be in the gym or packing his life and move to Australia, Cam is one to lean into it.Moving from Bristol in the UK and leaving behind a successful personal training career Cam set his eyes on Australia and a new found adventure with his partner Leah, together they travelled around Aus collecting amazing stories and life long friends before landing themselves on the Gold Coast and a new found home. Also on this podcast we go in-depth on the struggle of growing up in a lower class environment and the power it can give you if you let it.The energy you get from the people around you.Pushing yourself to the limit and how that’s where you find your true self.Being a good human being for no other reason that it feels good for you and others.Enjoy! Ep 49Episode 49 - Jase McAlpine AKA Gypsy Tales // Life of a Gypsy
Jase McAlpine aka the Gypsy!Three years ago I reached out to Jase to see if I could have the opportunity to come onto his podcast “Gypsy Tales” and help my story, Jase accepted the offer and what followed was something quite life changing for myself, it showed me the reach and power my words could have on so many different people, it also showed me where my true fulfilment came from. Can’t thank Jase enough for giving me that opportunity back then, we joked about when I would finally make the move up here that he would come and be a guest on my podcast, and guess what, we got there.Jase is the voice behind one of the fastest growing action sports podcast in the world “Gypsy Tales” and has had on such guest as Daniel Ricciardo, Sam Hill, Dean Wilson and Jeffrey Herlings to name a few.Jase started this whole journey as a film maker that headed to the US to film Pro Motocross at the highest level, when this didn’t work out as planned and Jase was forced to move back to Australia that’s when he put all his eggs in the basket and backed himself and the podcast. We go over a wide range of topics from the future of the podcast and moving to Dubai to balancing your work and personal life while also filming half of everything you do.Really enjoyed this one and hope you do too!Enjoy! Ep 48Episode 48 - Cooper Chapman // Finding Happiness in More Than Success
Cooper Chapman is the man, hands down! It’s not every day you meet a person that seems to be on the exact same path as you but a few steps further ahead, that’s how it felt when I first got the opportunity to meet Cooper.Cooper first busted onto the seen as an up an coming surfer that quickly put himself at the pointy end of competitive surfing in Australia and then around the world.Cooper, like most athletes based so much of his identity around his craft and as a result when things didn’t start going right later in his career he became lost and looked at his entire life not going right. When he lost his ride this gave Cooper a new opportunity, instead of dwelling on it Cooper decided to start up a mental health organisation called “The Good Humans Factory” based around making mental health cool and giving everyone the tools to keep their mental health in a positive state. All around I loved doing this podcast because I feel the things Cooper is bring to the conversation can help so many people in a vast variety of ways.Enjoy! Ep 47Episode 47 - Knowing Your Triggers
What are your triggers? What sets you off on a great day filled with nothing but excitement and optimism and what sets you off and makes you wish you never even got out of bed?I think most of us know what our triggers are, and what we will get out of them, but that’s not really the issue here, knowing what something is, is only half the battle, the second part of the battle is actually putting effort toward doing or not doing the thing you will either get a positive or negative repones out of.That’s where it gets tricky, that’s where we stop watching ourselves and breaking down what we need to be our very best.I think a big part of this comes from our want to observe others through social media, we end up knowing more about our friends, family, colleagues, athletes, actors, and even complete strangers than we know about ourselves, and this leaves us with no direction to what we truly want and leaves us in comparison based mindset that ultimately robs us of our happiness.I find the best way to get around this is to really check in with yourself and even view yourself in the third person to understand better what drives your “WHY” and what your intention is in any given situation.Understand yourself first before you try and start understanding the rest of the world.Enjoy! Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Ep 46Episode 46 - Baxter Maiwald // Bike's & Balance
On this episode of the podcast, I sit back down with fellow nomad and all-around legend Baxter Maiwald as we are both currently traveling up the coast in our van/bus escaping the wild weather back in Victoria.Baxter loves riding his bike, period! The type of bike doesn’t really matter, as long as he is on two wheels you will see a smile on his face.Starting out as a racer with a very successful junior career Baxter has now moved more into the freeride media side of the industry, saying that he’s still one of the fastest downhill riders in the country with him finishing 3rd at national champs earlier this year in Tasmania. He has shifted his focus now to fit in with what he gets the most enjoyment out of, such as trail building, video projects, photo shoots, the odd race, traveling in his bus, and hanging out with his trail dog “Gnala”.He talks about the negatives and positives of walking his own path and the setbacks he has been facing lately. We go in-depth with the state of trail building in Australia currently and how it needs to change. All and all I always enjoy chatting with Baxter and hope you enjoy the convo!Cheers! Ep 45Episode 45 - What's On The Other Side Of Anxiety?
How do you deal with anxiety? It is something every single one of us has had to deal with and overcome at some point in our life’s, something that you can’t see but is always there in some way, something that can either leave us frozen in time or something we can overcome and leave behind us.Just because it’s easy at one point doesn’t necessarily mean it’s always going to be that way, it is going to change depending on you current circumstances and might be even harder then it used to be in the past but that doesn’t mean you still can’t overcome it like you have before. The more you can do this, the easier it gets! The conversation you have in your own head suddenly starts to sound a little bit nicer and opportunity’s seem to get a little bit closer.Over time this will compound on itself and make situation you used to dread seem like a walk in the park.Right now I’m currently in the process of compounding those habits to quit that anxious voice that stops me from getting the most out of every opportunity I’m given.Enjoy! Ep 44Episode 44 - Jack Moir & Jake Newell // Keep Showing Up
I have been looking forward to recording this podcast for years now and have finally been able to track down Mr. Legs aka Jack Moir to his house just outside of Newcastle to record this episode, Jake Newell also jumps on to share his thoughts on starting out in World Cups, rallying cheap cars and why he is called magpie. We go into the injuries and struggles Jack had to overcome throughout his career and how it has ultimately made him into the person he is today, a true champion.Seeing Jack go through these struggles firsthand makes it even more impressive that he’s been able to bounce back to the level he is at today, proves if you just keep showing up every day no matter what you never know how far it can take you.Along with all this, we also have a good laugh reminiscing about the good old days growing up racing in Australia and around the world and friends and teammates.Enjoy! Ep 43Episode 43 - Elias Schwaerzler // Anything is Possible
Podcasts like this are the reason I like creating them so much and continue to do so, when I am truly inspired and motivated by another human being due to their ethos and outlook on life that’s when I know I’m in the right place, doing the right things.I only met Elias Schwarzler a couple days before recording this interview at the Scott athlete summit in Aosta Italy, straight away though we hit it off on a range of different topics and also shared a very similar outlook on life and creativity. We both share the passion for pushing limits and stepping outside of our comfort zone, this is quite easy to understand when you see Elias has set the world record for the fastest man on a stock mountain bike, assisted by a motorcycle with a speed of 272km/h.Elias is a person that likes to link outside the box and push what he thinks is humanly possible along the way.Hope you enjoy the chat and I hope it motivates you to push past what you think you’re capable of.Here are the links to some of Elias’s best videos:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jNtpEDnOn48 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kZfTlYzoyAI Hosted on Acast.
