What is failure for you? It is something you should be afraid of and that’s why you should out and challenging yourself to fail. If you are not failing at something it means you’ve set your goals to succeed and they are not set high enough for growth and achievement. I knew going into all the challenges I have taken that was there a high possibility of failing, it took me several attempts to achieve and it was failing that drove me to ultimately succeed. Without failure you don’t accomplish anything, you are looking for those seconds and the feeling when you finally work out how to succeed at the challenge facing you. Most of us fail in life because we are worried about what everyone else is thinking, we live by the narrative of other people. You’ve commercialised very well, how have you managed to pivot into business? I’m not about money, you have to first be authentic and know what your brand is, everything I do and say is authentic to me. When you truly want to help someone out that’s when you have a business. Your business is when you have a good product that helps others. My business is true to who I am, I’m here to help you. Ryan Pinnick joins Rob in this episode to discuss his past trauma as well as his beliefs and philosophies. This is an experimental episode of Disruptors, full of raw, philosophical and authentic content, not to be missed! Ryan is the CEO of SuperGenius and has a tremendous passion for applying Superconsciousness in Life Mastery and Entrepreneurship. Born in Cape Town, South Africa he moved to London in 2000 as an electrical engineer. Having had a traumatic childhood as a result of his abusive alcoholic father and sexual violence as a young adult, he failed to deal with the challenges he faced and he tried to suppress his demons with alcoholism and recreational drug addiction. At 26 he started his recovery and healing which lead him to the world of personal development entrepreneurship. During that journey he was introduced to what he now calls Superconsciousness and this was for him the key to creating a life beyond his wildest dreams. Trauma can ruin a person, yet if you look at almost every successful person alive they have had to deal with adversities and trauma to become successful. Podcasting, like all forms of content creation entails putting yourself out there. But you will learn from the mistakes, the embarrassing moments more than you will from the ‘good’ content; the bad times will be the stories you tell. Ultimately shame is what we fear other people will think about us. Through criticisms and negative feedback we get given an opportunity, to evaluate and decide whether to change what it is we are doing. Make a budget, adjust your living costs and aim to save 5-10% of what you earn. Once you have a good amount of savings as an emergency fund, start to invest.
