Show Notes
The first of April is no joke in the world of wild caught Australian prawns. It is the opening day of the largest prawn fishery in Australia, the Banana prawn.
The Northern Prawn Fishery, is Australia’s largest and most valuable prawn fishery, and is one of the most abundant, isolated and sustainable prawn fisheries in the world.
It’s often referred to as Australia’s last ‘wild frontier’ and is situated across Australia’s top end.
Austral Fisheries is Australia’s largest fishing company with a range of diverse fishing interests from the Antarctic to the Gulf of Carpentaria. They are regarded as one of the worlds most progressive, vertically integrated fishing businesses but more impressively are at the vanguard of next generation fishing with sustainability a deep and real part of the business DNA.
Dylan Skinns reflects the optimism, enthusiasm, and energy of Austral. As a 20 year veteran of the business and the Northern Prawn Fishery, he is both part of the vision and the delivery of this exciting fishery.
