Workers' rights and labor unions have been dominating the headlines in the US for the last few months. While that is probably the most culturally relative sentence we've ever put in our shownotes, it is also the sentence that inspired today's dumb bit. November 19, 2006, also known as the day the Earth stood still, saw the release of S-tier console, the Nintendo Wii. Unbeknownst to most, the rise of the Nintendo Wii awoke an ancient sleeping monstrosity that had laid dormant in the games industry since the SNES era. That ancient monstrosity was a type of games called "Shovelware." For the uninitiated, shovelware is a term for games that were hastily developed to showcase quantity over quality. In the earliest days of 2017, a new gaming style swept the nation as PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds introduced the world to the Battle Royale.
