On a Sunday morning nestled in the Nations neighborhood in Nashville, TN, a distillery awaits a release on Monday of their four year Tennessee Sour Mash Whiskey. That distillery, Pennington Distilling Co., also was sitting on the huge news they were working with Ashley Barnes (former Buffalo Trace and Four Roses guru) and Monica Wolf (bourbon business guru) for the release. The Dads see what's going on in Fort Collins, Colorado as they sip on Old Elk Bourbon and Dry Town Gin from Old Elk Distillery. This episode, the Dads see what Memphis has to offer when they sip on Old Dominick's Huling Station which was a pre-prohibition bourbon brought back to life. This is a 100 proof NAS bourbon, but with former Wild Turkey distiller Alex Castle at the helm, the Dads are really interested to see what this one is all about. The Dads were pretty lucky to come across some Michter's 20 Year, so we knew we had to share it with all of you. We found out after the fact there were two batches. Proving yet again that we're not afraid of trying some new things, this week we set our sites on Ireland and Powers John's Lane 12 Year Old Irish Whiskey. Admittedly, John is more of a fan of the offerings from across the pond than Zeke, but we assure this you this is a fun ride you'll want to take with us. Every once in a while we get our hands on a special bottle that is one of a kind. This Angel's Envy Rye Cask Strength Unicorn Blend is one of those bottles. Every year Stranahan's releases a limited edition blend called Snowflake but is also named after one of Colorado's fourteeners (that's one of their mountains over 14,000 ft.).
