Contest Email/WoW Minis and Episode 100 Lunar Festival until Feb 12th What We've Been Doing: Aprillian Cabana Chat - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=opM49V9Fa6Q I feel like I blossomed in Nagrand Mithril spurs helps Auruk keep up with the DK's, had the twins and Auruk in Nagrand doing a lot of quests. They got some good upgrades and both dinged 66 The servers were down on Friday morning but came back up a little after one. I was doing a disk repair on an external drive on the iMac so I was only on one computer. I felt bad leaving Auruk out, but I took the twins to do [Wanted: Zorbo the Advisor]. Of course the XP is better without Auruk. Ending up sticking around the Warmaul area grinding for powder and beads. The level 65 and 66 mobs were easy. I was mostly took on one each. Also found several mining nodes including Khorium. Finally got the iMac back up and brought in Auruk and she kept getting Warmaul skulls. I brought in Aprillian to do Tusker and when they were done, they got the achievement White Elek Nesingwary completion. Aprillian continued on to do Dailies, while the twins and Auruk rode down into Terrakor to quest down there. Realized I need a high level DE, I have a Veyle, my level 40 Rogue who can DE up to 300, she can do Outland greens right now, so that's cool. But I have Primall who is level 55 but is only 107. Do I try to power level Veyle to Then I realized Aprillian was at 400 Tailoring, only 10 away from, so I spent money Friday night buying Frostweave Cloth Saturday I wanted to do the Lunar Festival but got hung up levelling Primall in enchanting. She had a bunch of BOE stuff that she had gotten from Instances but wasn't high enough to DE. But finally after getting Enchanting to 130, she and Veyle went to Valley of Wisdom and starting the Lunar Festival. While in Moonglade Veyle ran up to Nighthaven to get the Runed Arcanite Rod recipe Locksmith? when asking for directions to Tailor. Veyle is donating mageweave and silk cloth to up her xp. Guy begging in TB. Wanted 5g, I said I would give it to him in exchange for some leather. Elder Ezra replaced Elder Proudhorn Back in TB with Veyle and Primall. Hopping around getting coins and in between stopping to level enchanting, and LW on Primall, the LW to get greens to DE. Aprillian in Blade's Edge doing the Mana cell one and netherstorm doing the fury plans and Shutting Down Manaforge B'naar ended up teaming up with a Warlock 72 from Demise with Felhunter Sunday morning I took Epril, JC and Miner Level 66 to train, she hit 350 making an Adamanite ring, and she was able to train 59 recipes plus Grand master JC, 100g! Then she found the Lunar Festival Exclamation mark in Dalaran. I logged on Elyte and the two of them did the initial quest. Then I see people doing the [Frenzied Firecracker] and the [The Rocket's Red Glare] achievements hard to do in laggy areas Then took Primall and Veyle to TB to start coin collecting out that way but stopped in for the Un goro soil quest because Primall had it and there was some soil in the bank. Primall dinged 56. Then they headed to Camp T Decided to take Primall and Veyle to RFD, yes I have ADD. We got into the instance and a couple of greens dropped but decided to go back to do some more coins. Veyle ported to Dalaran and summoned Primall, she still had Scryer for hearth. Then went to the Lunar festival in Dalaran, but they no longer had scrolls in their inventory. They were able to get more from the Lunar chick After doing some research, I realized Primall could Ashayo Chef Ashayo at last! 3.0.8 added more cooking recipes so that the 45 version of The Northrend Gourmet was achievable. Either I miscounted, or they changed the total recipes available down from 46 because I was sure I could leave one out. The Fish Feast required 450 cooking to use, so I left it out. But it turned out I needed it. Which meant levelling cooking from 420 to 450, and since there wasn't any fish in the AH, I had to fish up about 50 of two kinds of fish and 50 rhino meat. I chose the Small Feast, since the fish it requires are both available in schools, so are easier to ensure you catch. Finally got enough mats and cooked up to 450... only to find the Fish Feast recipe required 5 Dalaran Cooking awards instead of the normal 3, and I only had 3 left. Waited for daily change-over, and it was the damn wine/cheese quest that only gives one cooking award. So I had to wait another 24 hours. In the meantime, made damn sure I had enough fish to actually make a Fish Feast once I learnt it. I was out when the dailies reset, and so finally and 2am this morning, I completed the cooking quest and got the Chef title. Phew! Worked on getting my enchanter up to 350 so he could DE level 78 gear. Wasn't too hard ; I'd stockpiled quite a few mats and the vellum's help alot. 2nd egg from Oracles hatched on my holidays - unfortunately both were aged yolk. Waiting for 3rd to hatch. 3.0.8 changes - Mining - don't have to loot to get skill up. - Rain of Fir

Aprillian, Glanthur and Ashayo discuss another week of playing World of Warcraft, Blizzard's great MMORPG. Actually no Ashayo this week. But he'll be back next week. Write us at Contest for WoW Mini's Contest for emails What We've Been Doing: Aprillian Quad boxed in Nagrand, it was quite the experience. Epril, Elyte, Auruk and Aprillian. Finished the Crone quest and then hearthed to Dalaran and did some maintainance and prof training. Epril got her JC up over 325 and headed back to Nagrand where she ran into that chick with the many hides quest. Aprillian needed training, hadn't been to a Warlock Trainer in ages, spent over 50 g and finally figured out how to socket her boots. Sometimes you have to take the time to read. Elyte made some glyph, turned out she had some open spaces Went to do the mana cell daily with Aprillian, fell off of the Landing, had to run around to get back to the town and find a Spirit Healer Took Auruk and the twins back to Nagrand. Did the War on Warmual quest, freeing those guys out of the cage. Auruk had done the quests but he managed to ding 66, so that was cool. I have to remember to take him back to train. There was some tricky stuff, for instance Elyte needed Obsidian beads so she needed to do the looting but Epril needed the powder. New transfers off of ER. I transfered the Death Knight that wasn't one of the twins, started a DK gnome, her blade goes through the ground. Then I panicked because Thejasper was my high level DE'er and now I didn't have any. So I decided to get out Veyle, my level 40 rogue enchanter BS and Tiiaa my mage enchanter skinner. Veyle has Enchanting maxed at 300 because she needs to get to 50. I brought my level 39 Mage along, she was 3 bubbles from 40. I want her to get portals. I took the 3 out to the Badlands where Tiiaa got those two gathering quests Glanthur Transferred from Earthen Ring on my Alliance alts (Glanthur and Arlaerus) to Wyrmrest Accord, a RPPvE realm. I was so new I actually got a realm first for 450 in cooking achievement. There were only 20-something 80s on the whole server the first day, so I joined a great guild called Lost Chapter (a raid guild) and we ran Obsidian Sanctum. Since we were the first, we got another Realm First, and I'm now officially Obsidian Slayer Glanthur. So cool! Also been leveling Arlaerus, since the guild needs more healers. It's tough though finding good plate spell-casting gear. Great Ventrillo client for Mac is Ventrilo (also has a PC and Linux client). The Bladed Edge Now... this week's been busy in real life, so Ol' Blade doesn't have a lot of news to report... my little project is coming along... hit a few snags here and there... but I hope by next week to be back in Northrend hammering my way up to 80... Got things to do, you know... gotta level my Engineering skill, too! That said, if you need any tinkering or sudden miraculous inventions to be made... Ol' Blade's not half-bad... but I *did* come across someone who totally bests me in the 'miraculous invention' department... McGoyver... Ya... seriously... he's in Howling Fjord... admittedly, it's a bit of a lunch-bag let-down that he's a Gnome... but regardless... he's on the beach at Volgarde... he's even got a tag under his name... very apt for one of the best inventors of miraculous stuff... Moving on. From the 'Dirty Little Tricks' Department: For the Hunters... a two in one... 'cause... if you're like me on Wolftusk... not the *best* Hunter in the world... but not so clueless as to be called a 'Huntard' (those are the ones that let their pet Growl the aggro off the Tank... you know who you are...) The rest of us get tarred with a nasty brush every time one of you jokers goofs up in a dungeon... so hopefully this two-shot of macros will help that from happening a little less often... Two-shot... see what I did there? I made a punny! Step one: /Focus Target Manually select your target (player, pet, or even a mob) you want as a focus, and hit the macro. They now have a shiny glow around their character picture, showing them as your focus... and yes, your focus can also be an enemy mob; you may be on CC (crowd control) duty and assigned to chain trap a particular mob. This macro does its part by making the mob your focus... making it easier to keep track of your enemy. Now... step 2... /Target Focus /Assist Target /Cast Auto Shot (or whatever... some folks like to have an instant-cast shot like Arcane Shot in here... it's personal preference, really... some prefer a slower-acting shot like Serpent Sting to allow the tank to generate a little Threat before the damage starts...) Assuming that you used the macro we just mentioned to choose the Tank as your Focus, this macro will allow you to /assist your focus (the tank) and let fly with one of your attacks. If you *remove* the third line and don't have an attack launched at the tank's target as soon as you hit this macro, then you select the tank's target as your own (that's what /

Aprillian, Glanthur and Ashayo discuss another week of playing World of Warcraft, Blizzard's great MMORPG. Actually no Ashayo this week. But he'll be back in a couple of weeks. Write us at Contest Reminder: Submit an email and be placed in a drawing. iTunes Reviews - please! What We've Been Doing: Aprillian Levelling Enchanting on The Jasper [Large Radiant Shard] [Greater Nether Essence] [Lesser Eternal Essence] Saw a level 11 in Stormwind yelling for 4g to buy him some boots. Spent Friday morning transferring over pets to the alliance side. Aprillian went out on the Mana cells daily. Thinking of transferring some toons to the new realm. Playing WoW while eating breakfast in Denny's. Did the Bring me the Egg Quest in the Nagrand with the two DK's Epril and Elyte. It was hard getting the trampoline just right. But one egg worked for both, so that was cool. On the train back, wasn't too sure about the signal. Took Epril to get the Tortured Stone quest. Try to do quest that require individual looting when I can only play one. Also transferred over Pets for my alliance toon to sell. Doing a brisk business. My horde toon at the NAH in BB is a level 39 mage. Comes in handy. I set her hearth to BB, she can teleport to UC and TB for cockroaches and prairie dogs respectively and then hearth back to BB. I still have a toon on that account in Eversong Woods to buy dragonhawk hatchlings. Sunday night queue queue on ER so went to Lethon. I had Belover in WC grinding leather. She was at 60 this pass week, I'm getting her to 150 in WC and then she'll move on. She summoned Aprillian, a level 13 Rogue and Aprillian is getting nice drops including the Gloves of Fang. Monday night I was stuck in Chicago, I was put up in a room and played WoW. I took Aprillian out to do a daily. Monday evening queues on ER, logged into Lethon and took my DK's there out skinning and herb picking in WC. Why are the herbs in WC 100 Kingsblood and 125 Bruiseweed Logged into ER a little later on. Fought Bangar, one of the Nessinwary Elite with the two DK's, a piece of cake. Went over to the consortium and turned in some crystals and became friendly. Epril, the miner, bought some JC patterns she can't use yet. Nothing for inscripters, poor Elyte Did some more Consortium quests, but then some horde were attacking Haala. I was going from DC to Providence and thought I had a good connection One small problem, find herb and find minerals resetting at log in, a pain if I forget to turn it on. Decided to check on my AH alt, almost sold out of everything. Also decided to Glanthur Respeced Arlaerus from Protection to Holy and leveled him from 70-73 Doing Heroics with Glanthur and collecting Badges of Heroism Lots of Icecrown dailies Dwarven Alliance is a good guild! The Bladed Edge So there I was... wandering through Grizzly Hills on my way to snapping up my Northrend Explorer achievement... while listening to Episode 96 (specifically the emails section)... when I came across some critters in the pvp area of Venture Bay. As Forlornelf said... four deer and four mice! So... to answer the question: yes, I did know about them (about fifteen minutes before I heard it mentioned in Episode 96)... but Ol' Blade's not so egotistical to not be able to admit when he doesn't know something about something... WHY those critters are there, specifically... and why they're in the configuration they're in - four deer and four mice... and why they have multiple groups of them all climbing the hill every thirty seconds or so from 20,77 to 20,72 (I saw two distinct paths of them)... I have NO idea. But yeah... good find, Forlornelf... not many people travel out that way. I debated and debated as to whether I wanted to do the world pvp in the area... the quests being worth xp and all... and decided to continue my solo project... the results of which I hope to be able to provide soon... As mentioned, Ol' Blade's been travelling hither and yon across the world of Azeroth (and Outland) striving towards a few achievements - partly because the best way to experience the game is by going there. So I went. To Stormwind. And took the tram to Ironforge... but not before jumping off midway to catch a look at Nessy the Sea Serpent! Also... what's the deal with the gnomes in the Deeprun Tram tunnel? One's named Haggle... he seems to be a /nod to the movie Labyrinth and the character 'Hoggle'... he was short and ugly too... but there's a second gnome... Monty... and he's got three boxes behind him... perhaps a 'Let's Make a Deal' Monty Haul reference... the problem is... each of those boxes is full of rats... and as this Monty fellow is a 'Rat Extermination Specialist'... I somehow doubt there's a wad of cash in Box Number Three. Onward... to Ironforge... fished up my Fishing Diplomat achievement while I was there... and nearly ran afoul of some over-eager Alliance players that thought

Aprillian, Glanthur and Ashayo discuss another week of playing World of Warcraft, Blizzard's great MMORPG. Actually no Glanthur this week. But he'll be here next week. Write us at Visit us at http://ctrlaltwow.com If you get a chance, review us in iTunes and we'd be ever so grateful. What We've been Doing Aprillian Doing a couple of dailies a day on Aprillian. Mostly trying to get my DK's up so they can play with her. Friday Morning, grinding in Nagrand with theprimall. Didn't realize it was possible for a zombie to loot. Theprimall dinged 63 at 7:11am on Friday and I've been playing her straight through on the train to Washington. She's grinding in the Spirit field, there are mobs galore. Got to 63.5 by BWI Airport at 12:30p In the Train station grinding the Vir'Ani and killed an Arcanist, a Four of Lunacy dropped In Chicago playing in the First Class Lounge, Theprimall dinged 64. She went to the Consortium's camp and turned in over a 100 [Oshu'gun Crystal Fragment]. Then I logged off and went to the website so I can change her name and appearance and I'm thinking of doing a Figure print with her. Then I pulled out Epril to do get her to 64. I'm doing it mostly because at 64 they can get the quests in Nagrand, especially the nessingwary, I love those Renamed ThePrimall to Elyte. I was surprised that was available. I had them grinding in Oshu'Gun because once they hit 64, they can turn in the following quest: Stealing from theives A Head full of ivory Epril dinged 64, then went to Garadand and picked up a mess of quests. Then I decided I want to level a Priest with RAF. I made a Troll Priest and teamed her with my level 6 Orc Shaman who hadn't done the starting are quest there because I took her to Eversong Woods to farm eggs with a BE Hunter. I do not want a way to start at a certain level on any race/class like the DK. This is a horrible idea and would make it impossible for new people to ever get into WoW. Took the twins Epril and Elyte to Ebon Hold for Training. DK training is expensive. Good thing they made money grinding. I don't know what the time limit is but I am sure glad that when you dc, you don't get put back in queue if you log back in right away Lost internet for a while. But when it came back the queue was way too long, went to Lethon server. Got back on later Sunday night, short queue, everybody must be going back to work/school tomorrow. Was actually on a 3G network for a while and able to Dual Box Epril and Elyte. Doing the Nessingwary quest, too bad I don't have a skinner. Got this [Crystalblade of the Draenei] in Nagrand. Crystalblade of the Draenei Binds when equipped One-Hand Sword 70 - 131 Damage Speed 1.60 (62.8 damage per second) 195 Armor +18 Stamina Durability 90 / 90 Requires Level 66Equip: Increases defense rating by 13 (6.76 @ L66). Elyte turned in the osh powder and got her first Halla token. I am thinking of trying the whole pvp aspect in Nagrand this week Ashayo Gobu invited to raid for Vault of Archavon - an instance you can run when you own Wintersgrasp Very quick instance - about 10 minutes, and the boss drops tier 7 loot. Unfortunately you can only run once a week. Tried to run the 25 man variant with 10 players ; cleared the trash fine, but not enough DPS for the boss. Then headed to The Obsidium Sanctum underneath Wyrmrest. Jekle and Hiide started questing in Howling Fjord. Probably only done a dozen or so thus far, but quite enjoyable! Hiide even ran an instance! Dills tanked on his DK and Cairubel healed on her druid. Jekle has healed Utgarde Keep - with Aprillian! Asheal is now fully Holy Tried healing oculus - failed on last boss (while mounted) Heal Heroic Utgarge Keep Try to heal Culling of Strat ; wipeage NYE Alliance Boss raid - Ashayo now has a [Black War Bear] Starting Knights of the Ebon Blade quest lines in Icecrown Death Knight is levelling waaay fast - currently 65 just by running some instances. Blade here... With the Winter Veil festivities all week long in real life, ol' Blade hasn't spent a lot of time in Azeroth... so nothing's really changed... Aprillian, Glanthur and Ashayo discuss another week of playing World of Warcraft, Blizzard's great MMORPG. What We've Been Doing Aprillian: This has been my best week ever. 12/22/08 @ 2141 server time, Aprillian dinged 68. At the advice of Glanthur and Ashayo, she headed to Northrend. It was great and overwelming at the same time. I enjoyed Howling Fjord, the quest were different and fun and I read the quest text. Only got a little confused by the two quest you have to fly to. The first time I did the bombing ship quest, I didn't realize I was suppose to drop the bombs from the air, so I flew out and back and had to go again. Each quest were intricate and not the normal kill and loot and return. I loved fighting side by side with our own NPC's. Plenty of herbs in NR. I loved the dudes in Baleheim, they were suppose to be these nordic giants but their hair looked like dreadlocks. I hope we get that hair style in the game the next exp. Joined a level 70 for the quest and she immediately popped up Free for all and so I left the group. Plays with her boyfriend, ended up being pretty cool. I continued to play just Aprillian. It was very hard to do, I kept wanting to have my skinner with me or a miner. Summoning Felguard when current one loses health. And on Christmas eve she dinged 69. I loved the New Agammand and the gathering of the body quest. The one where you went into the plagued village and made one of those UC guard things and then exploded on the plagued Valkri guys was fun. I am loving the feel of Northrend. Got to the Tusky people, the icebergy look is cool Pumped to get to 70. Christmas day, grinding so hard in NR, it's crazy. Aprillian dinged 70 on Christmas even on her lunch hour Starting to have Space management issues. Bought another Guild Bank tab for We Live to serve Did my first Daily. I suppose I need to go to that island now. And no, I am no hurry to get to 80. Went to put on my first gem and it didn't work. I am loving flying. Aprillian bought the Mythic Spellthread from Scryer, and made one Encountered Queues on Sunday night. Monday I pulled both Epril and ThePrimall and Auruk down to Nagrand. Epril is 63 and Theprimall is 62, so they can't do any quests, but they just followed Auruk and helped him when needed Making money on the AH Talked with nieces and nephews about WoW at Family gathering, way cool Glanthur Ashayo Full week! A second 80 - Asheal dings! Topped and tailed by instance runs on Death Knights. Looks like I'll be levelling just by running instances. Running them with 3 DK's, 1 Hunter, and Jekle for heals. Ramparts, Blood Furnace, Slave Pens, Underbog. Already 63. Tried keyclone with two DK's but because they are both melee, it is hard to position them Professions: - Stopped 'learning' from daily inscription research. There are only 60 minor glyphs - 6 per class. You just stop learning ; it doesn't say anything useful like "you know them all" - Levelled inscription to 425 so I can use the epic offhand. (Ponfarr PM'ed me to say that restriction is being removed in the next patch. YAY) - Cooking achievements to get over 3000 - Sous Chef - 100 recipes ; good money making in AH by looks of it Daily quests: - "Aces High!" Wyrmrest quest opens up at 80. Fairly tricky vehicle quest (flying dragon). Much easier in a party - or dual boxing with key clones - Started doing Oracle dailies - three, but varies each day, and an achievement to do them all. Egg that hatches into things including pet or mount... waiting! Respec! - Changed Ashayo from affliction for 1st time ever. Now a hybrid Destruction/Demonology. DPS much improved. Increased from around 800 dps to 1500. Started running some Heroics with Ashayo, and the difference a strong group makeup makes is significant. Missing: Siphon Life CoExhaustion Dark Pact Unstable Affliction Haunt Gained soul link Fel Domination Demonic Empowerment Summon felguard Heroics - Azjol'Nerub ; trash on first boss tough without cleansing - humbling - Utgarde Keep - easy - Drak Tharon keep - achievements - Better off Dred, Oh Novos! (Palatinus mad tank, Onassi mad healer) Random note of the week: Can fly onto Zepp while leaving Borean Tundra enroute to Org Asheal has managed to heal some more instances: Ran Halls of Stone in Storm Peaks. It includes very "Indiana Jones" type event, followed by a long lore discussion. Quite interesting! Tried helping out with healing in Riversky's Naxx group on Asheal Managed to down 4 Horsemen, Patchwerk, and Grobbulus (first time kill) Winter's Veil Presents! Love having so many alts - got all the presents easily, including jingling bell and both red and green winter helpers. Had decided the jingling bell was most rare, then logged onto alliance and got four of them! Emails and PM From Blade Hey guys... "Professor" Blade here... In my quest to optimize my characters with well-put together macros, I hit a stumbling block. Also... there's a bit of a snag coming up for hunters in patch 3.0.8... we / they are losing a fair c

Aprillian, Ashayo and Glanthur discuss another week of playing World of Warcraft, Blizzard’s great MMORPG. What We've Been Doing: Aprillian Had 2 sex changes - Theardrion became Epril and Rifire became Auruk Brought Death Knights to Nagrand and did some other fp's in Outland with Aprillian DK can kill mobs 4 or 5 levels above them. Decided I wanted to do some instances with my DK's, tried Hellfire Citadel, doable but lots of time is needed and concentration. Then I tried upper and lower Black Rock and then Strolohome in EP. It was fun, but then I went back to Nagrand with Aprillian and Auruku Got Ding Recorder Addon and Epril dinged 63 but it didn't show the interface so all you see is her in a could of ding dust. Read the info and found out how to turn on "show interface" Got my Figure Print of Aprillian: Bought a Sun Scope +40 Haste for Auruku and found out he couldn't equip it, needed a level 70 or above. Been carrying the crossbow from Nessingwary in Nagrand. Shoutout to Mollyshot for putting the scope on for me. Got TheJasper up to 275 in Enchanting and now can de Outland Greens Glanthur Finally got to exalted with Kalu'ak. I love the penguin! Now I need to farm fishing. I also got ALL of my weapon skills to 400 that I had - including unarmed. I got the "Knuckle Sandwich" achievement. Also got "Ultimate Triage" which was unexpected and cool. Disappointed about lack of dailies for Argent Crusade. I want the gun, but it'll be forever until I get enough rep through the dailies to get it. Should be exalted with The Oracles within 12 days. I have a Mysterious Egg that I'm hoping will hatch into a Green Proto-Drake. I doubt that it will. Respeced my Unholy Death Knight, Herid, to Blood and my Frost Mage, Palanor, to Arcane. Working on getting my pet bear, Dov, to 80 on Glanthur. Got all confused with my DK in Hellfire. I kept wanting to ride into Honor Hold - but they don't like Horde very much there. Old habits die hard. Also, will be getting a better microphone after Christmas with expected Christmas cash. I'm having an inferiority complex compared to Ashayo and Aprillian's sound quality. I was affected by the Comcast/Verizon issue. It was so frustrating! I hope that they figure out what the cause was. Yeah, Comcast. . Ashayo Ran Violet Hold on both Asheal (as healer) and Ashayo (as dps) Ran Oculus on Ashayo - lots of fun doing the last boss while flying! Ashayo dinged 80 in Sholazar Basin (shortly after getting the Nessingwary achievements) Levelling Mining to 450 on two miners for titansteel cooldown. Fairly easy in Sholazar Basin. Death Knights questing in Outlands - ran Ramparts & Blood Furnace Levelling Jewelcrafting - tough around 410-420 Levelling Alchemy - research once a week - nice trinket for level 75 - tough at 420 - green to 425, then can transmute earthsiege diamond (no cooldown!) Levelling Inscription - learnt epic offhand at 400, but can't use till 425 :( Ashayo just waiting on Crashin' Thrashin' Racer to complete Winter's Veil achievements Winter's Veil questing is resulting in some nice presents in the mail! - tailor green suit - enchanting frost weapon - lw gloves - green holiday shirt - elixir of frost power Emails: Email 1 - From Blade Hey April! Feel free to edit as necessary... I did this one a bit 'on the fly' and grabbed a bunch of screenshots. Let me know when it's 'too much'... lol Michael Hey guys... Blade here... Congrats to all the winners of the contest (and kudos to those who contributed)... it's always interesting to see the variance in lifestyles of Warcraft players... Now... Ol' Blade's been doing some looking around... and has decided - for all you folks that have found your way to Dalaran and are less than impressed at how laggy it is... - to take you on a tour of the sewers... Why? It's a little less congested with mindless drones running around bogging up the server... and THAT's just the NPCs! (See? I didn't say ANYthing nasty about Alliance players there at all! "Diplomacy" for the win!) So... find the stairs up to the flightpath... see the hole-in-the-wall beside it? That leads down. There's a few of these tunnels scattered around Dalaran... Beneath the hustle-bustle of the lag-infested metropolis that is Dalaran, there is a different place... Lots of darker-looking wizardy types like these guys... personally I think they've read one too many Harry Potter books (whatsit... "Nock-Turn Alley?")... but that's just me... they're dressing to fit in, you see... The Dalaran sewers is a darker, quieter place where Ol' Blade and other rogues and nefarious ne'er-do-wells like me can relax... kick back... and not have to pretend we're 'For the Light' or other such nonsense... We're creatures of shadows... and the sewers is a nice dark place... However... You'll want to be aware of where you step in the sewers... there'

Aprillian and Ashayo discuss another week of playing World of Warcraft, Blizzard's great MMORPG. Glanthur join in with the Alliance POV. New weekly prize contest - enter a drawing to win one month's play time. What We've been doing: Aprilian Got Aprillian in Nagrand with Rilfire and grabbed every quest I could find. Using Cartographer and Gatherer. Funny thing is when Rilfire arrived, she had no ammo, just had her do hunter's mark and send in her ravager while Aprillian and her Felhunter did the rest. Picked up the Nessingwary quest Monday morning, off today!! Did some of the Nessingwary quest and Aprillian dinged 66. Tuesday morning, no maintenance, just server restarts. Sent ThePrimall back to Thrallmar to level up herbalism, she was 300+ but needed 315 for Dreaming glory in FW. Sent Theardrion back to Kalimdor to mine thorium and truesilver for JC. Although I'm sure I could just do quest in Outland and use all the gold I make to buy the mats I need. I was in Dalaran with TheJasper enchanting DK getting stuff from the WLTS gb. He was leveling by doing the speed enhancement to boots and putting them on scrolls. There was someone in trade chat saying they were giving away all of their mats, he mocked TheJasper for being only 221 in Enchanting Took Aprillian out in Nagrand solo on Friday, then Rilfire. Ashayo Witness Protection Scheme - $15 per toon! Warlock Spellstone / Firestone - applied to weapon since 3.0.2 !! Blessed Wizard oil and Superior Wizard Oil (58) can't apply to weapon - "too high"! Trying to get Asheal to catchup to Ashayo - heal Nexus, dps Azjol-Nerub and Grundrak Asheal 77 - training + cold weather flying + epic flying + mount 6800 -> 184 Matahorn dinged 80 on hunter - helped with Ring of Anguish in Zul'Drak (Ring of blood achievement) Matahorn pointed out -explore before you hit 80 for the XP: Ashayo the Explorer (easy with flyer) Death Knight overpowered examples: 58 DK vs 55 Elite Devilsaur - hardly lost any health vs lvl 60 Elite stone guardian - I got down to about 60% health Soloed Baron Char ( was reasonably tough, but I'm a noob DK ) Ashayo ran Drak'Tharon Keep - FUN - turned into ghouls on last boss ; DK type attacks Discovered you can JC dailies at 70 ; just need to kill a level 70 mob, plus some green gems. Conquest Hold - pit fighting ; very average cloth rewards. Where's the real replacement for Ring of Blood? Aprillian: Took the twins to Outland for the outland loot, but soon scurry back to level up herbalism and mining. Theardrion-Glacierthief Theprimall-Ratmasher Tuesday morning and evening running around the crater for TheArdrion and Arathi Highland for thePrimall. Of course Theardrion had a quicker leveling because he got points for smelting Dreamt about farming ore and herbalistm in Arathi Highland all night Tues. But couldn't right click on nodes. Thursday both Theardrion and Theprimall got to 300 in mining/herbalism. Sent them to Outland. Did go to Stonebreaker but then skipped to Falcon Watch 9days left on Tuesday, so by Sun 5 or 4 days left on the mail returned from the great Mail debacle. Friday and Sat morning had Theprimall and Theardrion in Falcon Watch with Rilfire skinning. Did the collassal and the demonic essence and freeing the hooded people. Using the rod to reduce the big Vamithrax like guy. Both went back to Ebon Hold to train and use a runeforge. Much harder to level herbalism than mining. Theardrion dinged 62. Sat Theardrion-Grubreaver Theprimall-Dirtleaper Aprillian got 2 shards once so far with the soul shard minor glyph Moved stuff to ally side, selling a lot. The Contest Reading and Results Thanks to everyone who submitted entries. We got a lot of good responses. Honorable Mentions Heya Ctrl Alt Wow folks! I just thought that I'd enter the contest to win the CE for Wrath of the Lich King, So, here is my story: If I remember correctly, it is basically how do you balance WoW with home life. As a married man with a wife who does not play WoW, I sometimes find it difficult to get time in to play without getting into trouble. However, as my wife teaches a night class on Tuesdays, I can usually play then and not have to worry about anything. On other days, it becomes more difficult, what I have to do is play when she is watching TV shows that I dont particularly like, or when she is busy correcting exams or working on her dissertation. I try to make at least a couple of nights a week that I dont play at all so that I can spend time with her, even if it is just lying down on the couch with her watching TV while she corrects papers during commercials, and on weekends, she will usually sleep in so I can get a couple of hours in in the morning also. I basically just try to strike a balance between getting my addiction in and keeping my marriage intact.... I will always walk the dog with her on the weekends and we do the chores together, so I don't get yelled at for playing that damn game while she is doing all the work. Anyway, I hope that is sufficient, I am certainly not the best writer on the planet, but maybe that wont matter for the contest! Keep up the good work on the show. Numnug (Aka Steve) ________________ Greetings, Aprillian and Ashayo Please consider this my official entry into the contest. Yours is one of about three or four WoW podcasts that I am subscribed to on iTunes, but it became my favorite after only a couple of episodes. Your laid back approach to the game is one that I can appreciate because I am a very casual player. I have been playing for a couple of years. I once thought that creating too many alts was a sign of some degenerative mental condition. I don't know if it is or not, but at least I know now that I am not the only one that does it! Most of the other WoW podcats cater to the hardcore player who might be focused solely on one class or one activity. CtrlAltWow shows that there us much to appreciate about the game itself. I play on the Moonrunner server. My main characters are Faluciel (70 night elf druid), Conoreyna (70 human warlock), and Either (67 night elf death knight). Wrath of the Lich King has renewed my love for this game (it was starting to falter a bit after some glaring issues I had with TBC). The only problem I have with your podcast is that it makes me want to create even more alts and I need to focus on my d

What We Are Doing: Aprillian Got my Death Knights ThePrimall and TheArdrion out to Silvermoon to train herbalism/inscription and mining/jc. We ran up and down the scar collection nodes of ore and herbs. I also spent some money buying stuff for my herbalist/inscripter By Friday morning TheArdrion was up to 126 in JC and 161 in mining and ThePrimall was 104 herb and 160 inscribe. When I left for work TheArdrion was 129 in JC and 204 in mining. ThePrimall was 147 in herbs. All from running around Hillsbrad and up in the caves of Alterac Mountains. Friday I decided to get Rilfire my level 63 Tauren hunter skinner/LW trained in Skinning after 375, for 35g and took her first out to Falcon Watch to kill boars, she picked up a purple ravager. Sat morning quad boxing. ThePrimall in Hilsbrad picking flowers, came across an elite dragon Narillasanz, got a nice green piece for one of my enchanters to de. TheArdrion was in the cave in Alterac Mountains. Had spent the early morning getting JC to 200. Sent Rilfire to Nagrand to grind Skinning and had Aprillian in Terrakor forest grinding netherweave. Also doing exploration on Theprimall, she fully explored Arathi Highlands and Hillsbrad foothills Saturday, decided Veyle, my rogue, should be levelled so she can pick lockboxes. Took her to tanaris at first with The Ardrion, but the DK was too high. So I got Primall, level 55 hunter and Pulled out the Jasper to level Enchanting and was going to bring Velye home to make a silver rod but one of my bank alts Ashayo Hours cleaning out mail before it was deleted. I really should housekeep that stuff more often! Glaciuss disenchanted a bunch of level 68 gear, and got Northrend mats from them! Tanked Utgarde Keep on Ashield Completed the Wrathgate quest line on Ashayo and Asheal - Hint: Wait for Thrall at UC if event in progress. Tuskarr dailies - Should be exalted by Wednesday! Levelling mining - Need to get to 75 on Jekle and do JC dailies for tokens. Need to research new profession traits like that. Group quests in Dragonblight - Three of them that then open up a 5-man with a nice blue reward. (Don't start the event again by talking to quest giver!) The Old Kingdom. Tanked by a DK. Last boss is cool - Phase out and fight each other pvp style Quests are becoming more immersive. A quest in Dragonblight has "future me" turn up to help. Future me.. level 80. "keep us alive and get some better equipment" "look at you, no wonder I turned to drinking" Discovering more dailes - Daily flying fight in Wyrmrest Temple in Dragonblight (can't /follow when on these quest type mounts) Shaman Hinterlands - old school stuff! Re-specced my Priest from full Shadow to Holy/Shadow, with aim of being able to heal instances. Yet to try to determine success! Emails Hey guys... Blade here... I confess... I have tried dual boxing... See... the thing was... I bought my copy of Wrath like everyone else did... hung out in a lineup and everything... but what I had forgotten was that I super-jumped the gun last year... the DAY they released word that Blizzard was working on an expansion... I went to my local store and tossed them a down-payment for the Collector's Edition. Totally forgot about it, though... and bought my non-Collector's copy from ANOTHER store.... The local store didn't do 'refunds', only 'in-store credits'... and I didn't really plan to purchase any other games... mainly 'cause ol' Blade has barely enough time to play WoW let alone dumping time into console games... So I had two copies of Wrath. What to do? Totally stumbled my way through the sign-up process... and still haven't figured out the RAF thing... (a little help?) ... but I made a few new toons and have been toying around with them... I took Wolf all the way back to Orc Kindergarten to start helping another Hunter... and I'm quickly realizing that it may be a very long slog. Rolled a warlock team... and they're kinda fun... I'm looking forward to the huge gobs of dps they'll be unleashing in the higher levels... the new hunter, too... but I have to figure out a way to level him faster... And now for something I like to call... Blade's 'Sneaky Trick of the Week'... Tricks of the Trade... A Rogue skill you get at level 75... reads as follows: "The current party or raid member becomes the target of your Tricks of the Trade. The threat caused by your next attack and all actions taken for 6 sec afterwards will be transferred to the target. In addition, all damage caused by the target is increased by 15% during that instance." That's pretty nifty... naturally... you all can clearly see the benefit in a raid... the more uber-dps you are as a rogue...

Aprillian and Ashayo discuss another week of playing World of Warcraft, Blizzard's great MMORPG. A full week of WotLK, how are we doing guys? Contest is posted on the blog and we've received some entries. We want more. Aprillian Aprillian dinged 65 and went to train at the Landing. Wow, expensive! I've decided to move to a new server. I can't take the queues on ER. I already have limited play time and having to wait even 10 mins to get in, much less 45 mins is hard. Plus I play at work and sometimes I have to do something and I'm idle for more than 15 mins or I need to move my laptop from the office to the break room and I'm having to log back in. I'm in the process of moving 3 characters to Lethon. I already had a guild there named Ctrl Alt WoW. So I'm transferring over Iwari, Auntrillia and a new Dranei DK. Oh and I'm doing another RAF. I have Trez, level 14 Shaman in Eversong woods killing dragonhawks for their eggs. It's that time of the year again. Monday was a busy busy day. Transferring a character is a lot like moving. You need to pack up all the stuff you want to take and make sure you got everything you need because you can't come back. I also had to get stuff off of my "referred account" because I was going to let that one sit unrenewed for a while. Free server transfers. I sent some toons to Dawnbringer. Wed night, took off. Hubby is at work. Going to dual box 2 dk's RAF from start to finish. The Sweets Blood Elf and Belover Orc. So far no RAF exp. Nevermind we weren't grouped. There we go, yep RAF exp. They were 59 after turning in the quest to kill the villagers and crusaders and the skulls. Belover gave Thesweets a level, so now we're doing the persuader quest with the sweets at 60 and Belover at 59. Doing the horse quest was neat. I had Moved two DK to Dawnbringer for free. Had to get one up to the mail box because she had the pet in the mailbox. Unholy tree gives an extra speed when mounted and makes the one following break follow. The ghoul pets have strange names like the warlock pet. Pebbleravager Doing the flying thing with two is cool. Didn't realize I had to to start the battle at the end, I guess the last two times someone else started it. Did one last transfer to my new RAF account. Didn't have a level 55 on the referred because I transfered her to another account. So I decided to transfer a level 50 over to it. But then I wanted the pets and I had them but not the actual pet for the Netherwelp. I checked the account page and that account only had the Wrath CE, so I searched each toon and found the actual pet thing. I sent it to the level 50 I was transferring and then realized I had transferred a dk off at the account on to Dawnbringer and didn't give it the pet, so I made one real quick and now am getting it to the mailbox. Had the DK learn it and Friday morning, got chores done, did some exercises and now have an hour and a half to play. Goal today: Play the two RAF on ER Primall 50 and Ardrion 44 both Hunters to get them to 55, I got them to 55. At the same time I am running two DK's on the other two clients. TheJasper, a Tauren DK and Celeen a Dranei DK. I'm playing on ER during the day while there are no queues. There's some kid in the DK starting zone who says he has no more quest and he's 55 By the end of the morning, before I had to go to work, I had completed up to the Harvester quest on the DK and the Tauren dinged while the Dranei didn't. Hmm. I took them both back to Ebon Hold. Thejasper so he can train and Celeen and Thejasper so they could get rested exp. Every little bit helps. And I completed two quest on Ardrion and Primal. Well 1 and half, Ardrion finished the Ornament quest. I didn't take the time to let them both collect 30. I think I'll take them to Booty Bay after this. And Ardrion dinged 45, yeah. Friday night on my lunch and break at work, Ardrion and Primall did the Dew thingy and Thristleshrub quest. They eached dinged a level. Later Friday night, Belover and Thesweets are in Durator levelling skinning and herbalism. Kind of like the thought of the Mighty Death Knights having to level their skills so humbly. I love the way the citizens feared themselves and cowered. Saturday evening, did some AH stuff. Had pulled Ardrion out of Felwood to Tanaris for the neutral ah but Primall summoned him back. We flew to Moonglade earlier to get to the Furblogs up north. I was worried about going through the tunnel. Primall hadn't gotten hostile with them by accidentally killing one in Azhara. But I guess she had gotten to unfriendly by doing the southern furblog quest and now she was able to run through the tunnel. Noticed Primall wasn't getting the RAF rep and also that she had a level to give Ardrion. After she gave it to Ardrion and he got to 48, she got RAF rep but not exp. Hmm. Then they finished the quest and Ardrion dinged, cool. He's 49 and she's 51. Hopefully I'll get them to 55 this weekend. Decided to seed some realms to get the 4 year anniversary bear on cha

After the Wrath I am loving my Death Knight. I want an alliance DK, just because I love the way the Dranei DK looks, but I also want four Horde. I don't have any level 55's on any other server. I decided to see if I could transfer a DK to another server on another account, and it worked. Found out from Shat the quickest way to the Zep was through Silvermoon portal If you are grouped when you dual, each win counts for the both. Saw a Rhino in SW, ,way cool Still funny Ashayo In Outland and Northrend and on a Dark Knight Email Email 1 That last quest Ashayo was having such a tough time finding is an insanely random NPC spawn. I've only been able to catch it once leveling 4 toons through Nagrand even though I'm always looking for her to get the easy XP. He was very lucky to catch her. If you look up the quest on "Wowhead" you'll find out that the npc is named after one of the blizzard developers. *One more thing* Since you once recommended the podcast "Yet another world of warcraft" podcast, and eventually got tired of the abusive language, (just like I did.) I thought I'd recommend a wow podcast to you. Here's a podcast that's tagged "Explicit", but the show is very entertaining to listen to and the podcasters are a lot more mature than the YaWoW kids. Tryout "Outlandish: A World of Warcraft Podcast". Each episode starts with a song parody with WoW references. My favorite was "I had to leave Trade Chat" sung to the tune of the Billy Joel song "We didn't start the fire". It's hilarious. Plus, the guys dual-boxed a lot of alts up to level 60 using the Refer-a-Friend bonus, so they also (as you say) "love playing many Alts". Xannguyen-Khadgar Realm Email 2 Hello guys I don't have much to say. I just wanted to let you know that I prefer the mp3 version of the show because my mp3 player (Sansa SanDisk) does not play mp4's. Thank you Aprillian for taking the time and expense to host the show. And thank you both for doing it. Auho

Aprillian and Ashayo discuss another week of playing World of Warcraft, Blizzard's great MMORPG. Lots of complaints about the file Plans for Wed night: Aprillian will be in line at the local Gamestop handing out cards and candy and having a raffle to win a free Authenticator. What We've Done: Aprillian Did random stuff Monday night, all pretty stupid. Thought it would be good if Aprillian used her cloth cooldowns, but she didn't have any neitherweave cloth so I sent her to grind out by Falcon Watch Tues night, don't know which pair to work on. Then I decide I want a Devilsaur. Auntrillia ventured into the Crater alone. It didn't go well. I took my level 35 Druid, Drame and a level 30 something mage, we died Wed morning took Auntrillia, Rilfire and Aprillian into the Crater and got the Devilsaur. It's amazing. I'm hopelessly lost with the RAF. Two days left. Decided to focus on my Mage. I gave her some levels and now she's 38. Took her to the Flats, Then she had to go to Dustwallow marsh for some Warlock quests. Did some triple boxing with some higher toons. She got to 39. Got up Fri morning to play and the realms were down. Notice said rolling restarts but ER didn't come up for some time. I got on my Dunemaul Alliance toon. I had a level 2 on the main account running around with a level 9 in the Dranei starting area. I knew I had some levels to give but got him to 6 before I got to give him 3 levels. I changed to my Earthern ring account and my RAF was over. I felt all alone. So I thought I guess I should focus on getting to 70 Figureprints Ashayo Still trying to get the epic undead chest piece for Hiide, which means Glaciuss has been collecting more void crystals. Alot of fun to AOE the undead - am now revered with Argent Dawn on both Pally and Warlock. Cleared a couple with Mata, who got his Rogue geared. Cleared a few with Tarqq, Deirdrea, Sigurn and Johnni 3.0.3 patch - 3 sec broom cast time :( Updated Ark Inventory - search function Working on achievements with Ashayo - Snuck into Zul'Gurub to get the fishing achievement - Working on Heroics - Completed daily cooking achievement - Completed Nagrand achievement - only needed 1 quest, and had real problems finding one - Stratholme ; quested too to get trinket that increases vs undead damage Jekle got ZA achievement ; wondering if I should've made my healer the achievement toon. Guild MC run - 9 red core hounds, including one for Hiide! Black Temple run - Downed High Lord Naj'entus and Supremus in our first night there. Sunwell Plateau Suicide run - Wiped over and over on trash ; even after finding Eye of Kilrogg 'exploit' ZF with Shaman Email Email 1 Hey guys... In response to your request - as you know ol' Blade will deliver when asked - I'll tell you all about how my family reacts to my Warcraft play... Now... ol' Blade works hard at his job and at school... and I don't think it'd have been possible for me to have gotten Bladetusk or any of my alts to lv70 without someone as understanding as Mrs. Blade. Before you ask... no she doesn't play, yes she does listen to me rant about the few things that might irritate me in the game (mainly how I think there should be a curfew for Alliance toons)... and she does so with one-part patience and two parts skepticism... yeah she'll listen - and even offer advice now and then... but By The Fist of My Old Uncle Throgg is her tongue sharp! So I get support... she reads and does her own projects while Ol' Blade is mercilessly cutting down beasts and Alliance in Azeroth... but I'd better have the dishes done before I do... That leads me to our two 'kids'... kittens we named 'Goblin' and 'Sprite'... ironically, the names had nothing to do with the World of Warcraft... Goblin is a jet-black kitty, and Sprite his little sister... When they want attention, they will stop at nothing to get it... clutching at cables, crawling on keyboards... and crawling up Papa Blade's back... the list is endless... We chose their names because of the fact that we have a fey-like garden in our backyard with ponds and flowers and trees... 'mystical' the elves would call it, I guess... Though I have to say... Ol' Blade cuts down the grass just as mercilessly as he mows down the Scourge... A few things from me... and Ol' Blade's a man of his word... a shout out to Jusdoit and Soxie of the Ghostlands server... for helping me clear some bagspace by taking some non-combat pets off my hands (on Wolftusk) and for cluing me in to an interesting achievement that I think Aprillian might like to get started on: 50 mounts = an Albino Netherdrake! Now... some Easter Eggs to whet your appetite... In Nagrand, at the Nesingwary Safari site, there's a crashed plane nearby... if I recall correctly, it should have an engineering vendor right next to it named 'Pilot Marsha'. I wonder what those snakes are doing crawling all over the plane... is this a reference to anything...? Now... back to Thunder Bluff with you... head to the Pool of Visions and talk to Cla

Aprillian and Ashayo discuss another week of playing World of Warcraft, Blizzard’s great MMORPG. We start off with a discussion of the Scourge, good or bad? Fun! What We've Been Doing Aprillian Right after recording, I logged on to my "Scribe" because I had remembered the cooldown and I learned a new minor glyph for warriors. I'm loving it. Did some HH in Brill and Razor Hill. Sunday night I got caught up with getting everyone around to get the xp in all the pumpkins. I was alternating summoning alts on the ref and mast account and then getting fps and then doing it again with different pairs and of course getting flight paths Tuesday I got my "new" MacBook Pro. It's not the newest one, but for $1400 I got 2.5gh, 250 gig hd and 512 vram. It's big and smoking. Dual boxing with cellular modem is like buttah. Then I finally solved what I considered the Holy Grail of my Dual Boxing. I suppose when you are living alone, the sounds of WoW are not an issue. When Hubby isn't home, I usually have both computers turned on. When he's home, I put the headphones in one and put the other on silent. This is okay but sometimes I turn and look and find that one is being attacked and the sound didn't carry over. Plus on one computer I sometimes have a podcast playing. I tried cables that would join the two sounds but often I would get an annoying hum. I solved the problem with a DJ Mixer. I know it's overkill but both computers are plugged in and cued and it works great. Wed morning ER was down so I logged on to my ally toons on Dunemaul. Level 6 Dranei Warrior and Nelf Druid. Perfect opportunity to get them some levels. We did Azure Watch and Exador and then the nelf hearthed back to the Nelf starting zone and then we ran to Darnassus, so easy, and then caught the boat to Auberdine and then another boat I thought to Menethel harbor, but noo, it took us to SW, how convenient. Got them to level 10 Wed evening had Auntrillia running around Outland, ran her and Aprillian to Netherstorm and then summoned alts from Rilfire to low level toons. Love Netherstorm. Got Squashling from Treat bag on 3 alts. Ran out of soul shards. Aprillian got a quest out of Horseman in Brill is hard, due to cart, easiest is Falconwing Square. Looks like a lost a bit of what I did since Wed, so I'm going forward and try to fill in the gaps later. Saturday night, some lower level toons are finishing up the baskets in Kalimador or Eastern Kingdoms. I should probably be focusing on finishing it with Aprillian, who dinged 64, Auntrillia who dinged 65 and Rilfire who dinged 63. Downloaded and installed a mod called Multiboxer - but it has a funny side effect, it changes the tool bar to the #2 row. Ashayo Scourge attacks! - Started at 10 mins , down to 2 for disease - Necropolis hovering over towns ; epic "vs undead" gear (tough to tag ; heavy competition!) - Quests at Lights Hope Chapel. New boss in Kara Decided I'd limit working on achievements to just Ashayo. - Jenkins - LBRS - UBRS - Hallows End ; yes, including the 50 G.N.E.R.D kills. - Scholo (Stigg was going for book worm achievement) - Heroic Magisters Terrace ( nice chest peice too ) Jekle and Hiide completed Tricks and Treats of Azeroth (interesting that Blizz include Outland in 'Azeroth') Ashwhack and Asharmin also completed - went from level 36 to 38. Thanks to Aprillian for summons to BE and Netherstorm :) Ran HH so many times I lost track. Have not seen mount drop once! New discoveries - Inn keepers now sell level 70 and 75 food ; better than the old 65 food/drink - High level mobs not chasing as far/long? - Putting out the fire at Falconwing Square is *alot* easier than at Brill or Durotar - Don't need Falconwatch FP to fly Shatt to Thrallmar. Raiding & Instances - Ashield tanked Kara tonight (awesome heals by Shojobeat) Got the Arcanite Ripper (Tenris Murkblood - new boss) Also belt and gloves (was green, to horror of healer) - Jekle tried Mnt Hyjal with BiPs. Almost got 1st boss down - Rage Winterchill. Email Hey Guys... Blade here... As now you both know, I'm in the process of deciding to make the move to Earthen Ring... and full-time school plus work leaves me previous little time to play the game, let alone do anything spiffy like running a guild to any great degree. So I bit the proverbial bullet... plus... as I said to Ashayo earlier in the week... someone's gotta help get Aprillian to 70... and ol' Blade is feeling a little altruistic... To that end... I've spent what time I have had in the game this week both learning and being amazed by the new talent trees (which I will get into shortly) and avoiding the major cities like (and because of) the plague... Happy Hallow's End! Just don't kill the glowing green cockroaches... First... as per usual... a weird and wacky tip... There's an achievement that is listed under the 'Feats of Strength' for those that had pre-existing toons... I'm not sure if it's visible for newer toons, but I'm told that it's still possible to get this achievement.

Aprillian and Ashayo discuss another week of playing World of Warcraft, Blizzard's great MMORPG. By the time we are recording, we should all be knee deep in Patch 3.02 What We've Been Doing Aprillian Spent Sun afternoon getting Kapril, Drainei pally to 30. Went to Menethil Harbor with Aloq and finished the cursed crew quest. Ran into a Nelf Hunter and buffed her with underwater breathing. Afterwards she saved me when I was fighting the Captain, and Kapril Dinged 30 in the help opening the footlocker. She hearthed to Exador and summoned Aloq and went to the Pally trainer and got her pally mount and riding skill and bought an Elek, I love it. So now I am going to get Aloq to 30 and then leave my alliance alone. Sunday night I got Aloq to 30 and hearthed to SW and then Summoned Kapril and then ubby called me for dinner. After I logged on, got the Warlock training and then the mount. Then we rode across the map and bought a horsey Monday night spent most of the time trying to level my 27 mage Tiiaa and 27 druid Drame. Spent silly time getting their skinning up thinking they could skin in South Barrens. After getting them to 36 and 18 respectively, realized after killing my first Thunder Lizard it needed 100 skinning. We did the Gann's quest, had fun sheeping mobs with the mage, she also had the cooking quest, killing rats in Bael. After finishing them, I realized Tiiaa was going to ding 28, when she turned in the nitro Glycerin wood pulp quest, but more importantly Drame might too, so I sent him down to blow up that flying machine and come back ding and give Tiiaa a level. He came close, so I brought in Treshel and had her help Drame finish the Weapons of Choice and the skulls quest and ding and then he gave Tiiaa a level. So now Tiiaa is level 29. I am thinking of signing up for a BG and then having her get some levels from Suyna get her mount and rush to the mage trainer and then have her come into bg with many higher levels and a mount. But then it was time for bed. I waved goodbye to WoW BC and knew the next time I sat down at my desk, I would be playing the brand new beautiful Echoes of Doom, WoW 3.02 I had patched on one computer with the idea of copying to all the others. But the patch wasn't available before I left for work. At work I pulled out my MBA around 11am and the patch was available for dl. I almost didn't take it because I knew I could get it at home but for some reason I couldn't connect to my desktops at home. Spent most of the day downloading. Did the first 1.2 gigs and then the 400mb. All the time watching the Apple event.I tried to get in and do stuff Tues night but the server kept going down. A couple of things I discovered, for some reason I can't put pets on the AH Got caught up with leveling herbalism and inscription. Starte some toons on herbalism and two on inscription. Then had to run through low areas to level herbalism. Spent Wed night trying to stay on and couldn't, got frustrated and just logged off. Thursday morning, got Vapril caught up in inscriptions and had her and Weaa dual boxing herbalism in different zones. Then Vapril got inscription up to a point where she made these things that could only be used by Enchanters (1). SCROLLS, OH MY GOODNESS, SCROLLS! So now I"m obsessed withAshayo Didn't take notes

Aprillian and Ashayo discuss another week of playing World of Warcraft, Blizzard's great MMORPG. Ctrl Alt WoW Episode 84 - Another World in World of Warcraft 36 Boxer: http://www.ripten.com/2008/10/10/wow-whore-has-36-accounts-raids-by-himself/ What We've Been Doing Aprillian After all I thought about doing, leveling my 40's to 60, I decided to get my 24's to 30, and then decided to level my alliance toons. Sacrilege I know but think about it. How else would I endure the alliance? Levelled my 8 lock to 14 and my Pally to 16 and 18 Tues. Wed, we are back in the Dranei area and a level 70 ne shows up and hits a kill, I chastised him for lowering the xp. Thursday night, again on Kapril Dranei Pally and Aloq Human Warlock, got them to 24 and 22. Did some PTR. Transfered Aprillian over and got hair cut, found out that once she learns the nether welpling, she can mail it to another alt, even though I transfered her to that account from the actual Collector's edition. Friday Morning, Aloq has the succubus quest and she has to go to the Barrens, Camp T. How crazy. There was a gnome warlock in the training area (which was very hard to find) in SW, who said to go to Darkshore then Ashenvale and run to the Barrens. I thought I would go to Menethil harbor and swim to ratchet. But when I got to menethel, there were a bunch of quest, so I picked them all up and started questing. It was weird because they were all quests I had never done. We went out and did the murloc quest and some of the crocilisk. It was a different experience going through at levels 22 and 24 as oppposed to 1 to 5. Friday morning I decided to get the fp at SW. Kapril had been there, I think she did the swim originally to get to Ratchet. Aloq had her hearth set to SW. So she hearthed there and summoned Kapril. When they went at SW, they discovered they had the fp at BB Realized I need to save pet income for mounts Ashayo Email Hey hey! If you have a soundbyte of the orc laugh, it'd be a great filler for the section below after "You die!" Michael ***** Hey Aprillian and Ashayo! As promised... the paladin ranged weapon... AND a bunch of easter eggs! Yeah... I know what you're thinking... 'but Pallys can't USE ranged weapons...' Ahh... but there's a way around that little snag... let's call it a 'convenient oversight'... First... your character will have to be at least level 47 to start the quest chain... and no, you don't have to be a paladin specifically... I just mentioned it as a 'paladin ranged weapon' as most paladin players that push their way through this quest are more than happy with the end-result. Head to Un'Goro Crater... and snoop around (62,68)... or for those who don't have coordinates, it's an area in the southeast... little mini-lakes and lots of raptors... You're looking for a Wrecked Raft... it's the quest giver (of sorts)... The quest is called "It's a Secret to Everybody". Accept the quest and then turn around and look in the body of water right next to you and the boat... you'll find a small pack. Open the contents of the pack, then go talk to a gnome named Linken (44,8) at Marshal's Refuge. Linken will be all confused and send you to talk to Donova Snowden (31,45) in Winterspring... she will give you the Videre Elixir quest. Next go to Ferelas, talk to Gregan Brewspewer (45,26) who wants you to go north and get some Evoroot... but there's a catch! It's guarded by a gnoll and it seems impossible to get past him... you can do one of two things... either a: buy some bait from Gregan or b: sneak up around the back way jumping up and over the wall... yes, it's possible, I just did it the other day... Here's a link for you... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_oI3iefJ3_w Yes, it's technically an exploit... but it seems to be legitimately possible... in either case... you can buy the bait from Gregan... so both ways will work. Back to Gregan with you... and get the Videre Elixir from him. So... with your Elixir, go all the way back to Winterspring and talk to Donova again... Now go all the way south to Tanaris... to the graveyard outside Gadgetzan... and drink the elixir... You die! Mwah hah hah hah haa haa haa! Now... would ol' Blade be so cruel as to send you all over the map just to kill you off? Well... yes... but I DID promise you a paladin ranged weapon... so don't rez right away, but instead take your ghost-self and run north to (53,23) and find a fellow spirit named Gaeriyan... then back to your body, resurrect yourself and right-click on the tombstone in the graveyard... mouse over them if you don't see it right away. Now... head back to Linken in Un'Goro Crater again, then up and into the cave to talk to J.D. Collie (41,2) She sends you to Felwood to talk to Eridan Bluewind (50,82)... who sets you the task of collecting Silvery Claws from the local predators (bears and wolves)... they're around lv47-50ish... I found what I needed around the area slightly north of the road to Bloodvenom Post... Now head up to the Irontree Woods and

Aprillian and Ashayo discuss another week of playing World of Warcraft, Blizzard's great MMORPG. Full Show Notes at http://ctrlaltwow.com What We Did Aprillian Sunday I totally reevaluated my RAF technique and realized my RAF accounts should be easy toons and the ones on my Referred account should be throw away leaving some low level to up level. I botched up in that I should have made all hunters on the referred account. Then I became obsessed with getting a yeti Ran Primall and Iwari around until Primal got to 41 and got to wear mail and Iwari got to 50. I'm not sure how many levels she has to grant, pretty sure it's been 2 since I transferred her. She was also able to level up Engineering and I wasted time on that. cc Friday night I took Drame and Queaa into WC with Ardrion. We cleared and did the last escort quest. That was fun Sat, back to reevaluation. First I made a Shaman on the master account thinking I would use the lower level (10-25) to get that one up. I realized it should be a character I wasn't good at. and decided to get the level 40 guys to 60. Went back to STV to finish those quests. Ashayo Dual-boxing herbalism - Hiide flying around Hellfire Peninsula, and Glaciuss riding (Yes, I bought him an epic mount) around Barrens and Stonetalon. Fast-paced farming! Ashwhack, the warrior, reached level 30 ; so have my second Kodo. Having real trouble organising all the spells and abilities, and knowing when to use what during a fight (Suggestions welcome) At 30, got Beserker stance to add to the confusion. Also got the quest for a nice 2H weapon. Very tough for a 30 - have to kill a 40 elite at the end, as well as elementals in Arathi Highland, and Trolls in STV. Ashayo raiding Gruul & Mags. Actually won some nice gloves ; similar stats to existing gloves, but have 2 gem sockets as well. Attunement to MC on 60 Mage with some guildies in prep for raid in a couple of weeks. Planning on running Gnomeregan next week. Rushed Rogue from 20-25 in order to get Rig Wars quest for Triprunner Dungarees ; but wasn't being offered. Need to get that quest *before* you get Chief Engineer Scooty quest?! Emails Email 1 Hey guys! Blade here... In response to my last email, and subsequent episodes of Ctrl Alt Wow... I'm continuing my thread on transformations... First... Aprillian and her druid toon... now that he's past lv10 and has a free teleport to Moonglade, it should be easy to get training... simply cast the spell, run to the trainer and then hearth back to whatever place you were in before... But... There IS a Druid trainer in Silvermoon City... look at the city map (press M)... see the little patch of green just about center on the map? There's a female druid there (the only one) and she happens to be a trainer... Oh... as a complete aside... I'm NOT in the Beta... just curious enough about the stuff I've been emailing about to make a point to learn some of the best ways to get or accomplish them... Now... on to the topic of transformation... Specifically... Ashayo mentioned he's like to know how to get the Polymorph: Pig spell for his mage... Be ready... for it is a quest chain frought with peril the likes of which... Ahh... who am I kidding... it's actually pretty easy... At level 60, go to Archmage Xylem in Azshara, he'll have a quest called 'Warlord Krellian'... basically, the Archmage has sensed another source of magic (a Prismatic Shell) and wants YOU to go and get it (and of course kill the creature that has it)... Warlord Krellian is at 41,52 in a temple... if I remember correctly, he has a single guard and is a lv55... so not terribly difficult to kill solo... Take the shell back to the Archmage (the guy that was too lazy to go get the shell himself)... and he'll give you another quest... this time to TEST the shell's magic power... Carry the shell with you and polymorph the Spitelash Nagas that you will find at the ruins below the Archmage's tower... after a few seconds, some clones will spawn... they move FAST, so as soon as you see them, drop them with a Frost Nova or Arcane Explosion... AOE the little sheeplets... the shell will collect their essences... You can even use Arcane Explosion level1... the clones die THAT easily... After 50 essences (and the completion of the quest), go back to the Archmage and he teaches you the Polymorph: Pig spell. Yeah... it's THAT easy. Oh... here's something to whet your appetite for the upcoming expansion... MORE Polymorph variations for Mages! Specifically... Endora Moorehead (an NPC in Dalaran) will sell the Tome of Polymorph: Snake and Tome of Polymorph: Black Cat for the low, low bargain price of only 2500g each! Be wary, though... these are rep-dependent and will be of limited quantity... so hopefully they will be BoP items to stop people from simply buying them and dropping them onto the AH at a ridiculous markup... Also... for those that will take Inscription as a profession... there will be a Glyph that will alter your Polymorph spell to produce a Pengu
