This week, not only do I have a wonderful guest, but a great co-host as well! Julie Mastrine is back on the show, this time as my co-host. Our guest is Joseph Sciambra. His story will keep you glued to this one the entire time. Joseph was raised as a Catholic kid in the Bay Area. He was molested numerous times by multiple Catholic priests, starting at age 9. This continued through his teenage years and finally, he left the Catholic church in his late teens. In his twenties, he was living as a gay man in San Francisco, where he lived fast and hard for a decade. At age 29, he was so burned out, he went back home and joined the Catholic church again only to find more priests who were preying on vulnerable men. He details many of these horrific moments and the fear that it instilled in him. Finally, he discovered Father Seraphim Rose and immediately felt drawn to his story. Through Fr. Seraphim, he found the Orthodox Church and knew he had found a home where he could actually feel safe and loved and could trust the priests. This is a wild episode, and I'm thankful for Joseph's openness. The LGBT movement does not like many of the truths that Joseph speaks about getting out. My guest this week is Orthodox Priest and writer, Father John Downie. Fr. John wrote some very compelling pieces for the Brownstone Institute, where he discusses many of the problems with the Covid regime from an Orhtodox perspective. One hospital tried to deny Fr. John from taking Holy Communion to a dying patient -- he wouldn't allow them to block him. That is because he answers to something bigger than the fear of unknowing hospital staffers. In one of my favorite conversations ever, I had Father Turbo Qualls on the show. Fr. Turbo is the rector at St. Mary of Egypt, Serbian Orthodox Church in Kansas City, Missouri, where he lives with his wife Juliana and their 8 children. I am so happy to finally get Monica Perez on the show this week. Monica is the host of the Propaganda Report podcast and Deep Dives, with Monica Perez, where she analyzes one of the top stories of the day from a perspective of truth, liberty, and justice. Monica was a radio host for 8.5 years on WSB Radio in Atlanta before she was unceremoniously dismissed. She's more than welcome on Counterflow, and this week, we cover a litany of topics. Monica is very adept at discerning what is propaganda and what is real information. We discuss that as well as false flags and the fact that they aren't always needed.
