In this week's episode we get to hear from three student athletes; soccer player Kelsey Oswald, volleyball player Caitlin Kellner, and football player Cole Campbell. Kelsey and Caitlin are both seniors coming off their last collegiate season. They reflect on their time at USF and what they have gained from being a student athlete. In this week's episode we get to hear from four student athletes. Each of them talk about their time at USF, how it prepared them for life after graduation, and their student athlete experience. First, we hear from David Ecker and Lizzy Spaans. David is fifth-year senior on the cross country and track team. He was awarded NSIC Standout Senior along with COSIDA Academic All American, NSIC First Team All-Conference, and NSIC All-Academic Team of Excellence Member. Lizzy is a fifth-year senior on the swim team here at USF. She was also awarded NSIC Outstanding Senior of the Year, as well as named to the Academic All-American Team, NSIC All-Academic Team of Excellence Member, and NSIC First Team All-Conference. The second half of the show we are joined by Lexie Swift and Sterling Haphey. Lexie is fifth-year senior on the softball team. She was named to NFCA All-Region Second Team as well as NSIC First Team All-Conference, while completing a Master of Business Administration this spring at USF. Sterling Haphey is a senior on the baseball team. Sterling talks about the outstanding Education program at USF, including all the classroom experience he got during his time as a student. In this week's episode we get to hear from Ken Kortemeyer, better known as SID. SID came to USF as a student in 1969, and has never left. Immediately after graduation, he took on the role of Sports Information Director, and over the following 50 years has performed many different roles within the USF Athletic Department. Throughout the episode SID explains how he was able to create “lifetime friendships through athletics” by staying involved through sports management. He talks about why he has stayed at USF for so many years, and what makes this place so special. Coach Glo was hired in December of 2022, and since then has been working hard to establish strong values and practices within the team.
