There is a vertical and horizontal aspect of worship. We worship a transcendent God who exists above and independent of His creation, but we are brought together as the Church for corporate worship. Jesus works through our horizontal relationships to express worship to God.
2 Peter 1:9 - But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.
