My friend has organised this event to support the World Wildlife Fund in its efforts to create Ocean Sanctuaries. £25 a ticket and it all goes to the WWF (there is a £2.80 online ticket vendor's fee). The event runs on the 20th September at The Anchor Inn, Barcombe, East Sussex. Simply search for "Wild by the River" on the web, and you will find the ticketing website with all the necessary information. There will be four live bands/acts (Dynamite, Wild Estate, Dreamytime Escorts, and Francesca Morris), plus DJ Daft Kraft, an award-winning close-up Magician, and a costume artist on stilts roaming the crowd. There will be short, inspirational talks from The WWF, our local coastal heroes - Sussex Underwater and Greenpeace. There is free camping available on a first-come, first-served basis. Joe’s mum has just re-connected with an old friend of hers, whom Joe is very keen to tell David about. It turns out she was as Bond Girl in the 80’s, appearing alongside Roger Moore in a very famous scene involving a magnetic watch. So for the first half of the episode there’s a lot of chat about that and Bond films in general. Then Joe remembers they were going to book David a flight to Jersey so he could visit the old cricket ground there where he scored a half century. Joe had a recent vigilante incident involving some teenage skateboarders that he really wants to tell David about. But before he can do that, David is shocked to learn that Joe used to skateboard in his youth - so that gets discussed immediately along with roller blading, roller discos and yo-yoing. David also tells Joe about some very quirky characters he came across in Totness the other day, before we finally get back to Joe’s vigilante story. And as if all that wasn’t enough, David finishes the episode by telling Joe about the time he had a run-in with some Gatwick airport counter-terrorism police. It was all very dramatic indeed! David’s been settling in to a new exercise routine over the past few months, which he does with a personal trainer both in person and online. Joe has two Kevin McCloud type artists jackets which are a little out of his comfort zone - but he’s been wearing them a lot recently and now feels much more comfortable in them. That was until this morning when he saw someone wearing one (along with a Cornish fisherman’s hat) and is now really unsure about the whole look. It’s a grumpy David at the start of today’s show as he’s just found out his Peloton is broken and hasn’t been able to exercise this morning. So Joe tries to distract him by telling him about how much he enjoyed the Brighton Pride Parade recently and even had a little dance there. Following his recent holiday in Cornwall, David wants to spend today’s show recounting a magical morning he had whilst staying in the small fishing town of Mevagissey.
