Joe is out and about again but this time he is off on an urban adventure ! David tries to guess where Joe is as he comes out of the train station. Apparently they have been speaking about visiting this place for a year and a half but David still doesn't twig. That is until Joe introduces him to a Chatabix regular and then the penny drops. Joe takes David behind the scenes and explains there is a special reason why he has decided to pod from the location today of all days. Joe introduces David to some people who are milling about via zoom and they settle in for a chat about the thing Joe has gone to see and how it all came about. Joe and David chat to the comic and actor Ted Robbins best known for his roles in Benidorm, Little Britain, The League of Gentleman and Phoenix Nights. Ted tells them about being related to Paul McCartney and what it was like growing up with him and seeing him at family gatherings. He tells them he once watched Paul record at Abbey Road and John Lennon gave him a chocolate rabbit. David's in an air-bnb but the wifi is terrible so he decamps to the car and decides to take Joe on a tour of some of the houses where he used to work as a gardener. The tour predominantly focusses on Twineham and ends up in a motorway service station where David would take his daily nap. He has very little in the way of information for each of the houses but nonetheless Joe finds it all very exciting. Joe decides to try and break his 1k time again and heads to Brighton seafront for a run. He tells David his personal best for doing 5k is 21.17 so David does the math to work out what Joe needs to do to break his 1k time and then tells Joe that the world record is 2min 11. Joe doesn't think this is relevant as Steve Ovett wasn't podding at the time. They discuss whether Joe can break the 4 minute barrier for 1k and shave 10 seconds off his original time. Joe get's out of the car and gives it a good go as David watches on, offering motivational tips and trying not to giggle. There's an awful lot of huffing, puffing and panting as Joe really goes for it before collapsing on the beach. They bump into Petra and have a little sit on the pebbles. Joe puts his feet in the sea but it's not as warm as it looks. They decide to rebrand these pods as Adventure Pods to try and get people out trying something new. David reveals whether Joe has actually beat his PB or not. David's in the spinny seat waiting for his surprise guest. He's feeling very anxious and looks to Joe for reassurance. He's been drinking black coffee which is not helping his jitters. David has had a big package delivered and hasn't got a clue what it is or who it's from. He opens it to find its a load of metal detecting accesories. Joe and David catch up with their old mate comedian Roisin Conaty. While they wait for her they tell each other elephant jokes. Roisin kicks off by telling them about cold water swimming, getting the shits and losing her voice. After swapping loads of funny stories they start taking post-it notes off David’s pin board and talking about whatever is on it, this throws up some even funnier stories including being bullied into touching a stags antlers. They decide Roisin is a wise owl, Joe is an old soul and David is a kid at heart. Joe reminisces about when Roisin used to run a weird little gig in Westminster and he thought she worked for the government. It's Joe's turn for a surprise guest and he doesn't have a clue who is coming on. After a slightly anxious start, Joe turns away from the screen so he can't see who the guest is. This is understandable as the guest is not someone you'd recognise but is someone who started an amazing event that happens in 22 countries worldwide. Joe opens a flat looking parcel, it is a present from the Battle Of The Chatabands winner Mezz Coleman. Mezz has sent Joe her album so he can play it on the retro record player his wife Petra bought him for Christmas. He goes downstairs to play it but things get a bit awkward because the cleaner is in the kitchen. Joe beats a hasty retreat back upstairs to his office. Then David takes Joe on some metal detecting forums and they realise that all metal detectorists either sound like proper metal detectorists or professional golfers. After wondering if women have hobbies, Joe looks at one of his Petra's interior design magazines. They decide it would be nice to use Mezz's song to play them out but after playing it they carry on nattering and the song doesn’t really play them out at all. At last it has stopped raining so David can take Joe metal detecting. David goes to his his usual field and fires up the kit. Joe is loving it but to say its a slow start is an understatement. They realise they don't really know how the Garrett Pro Pointer works so Joe tries to read out the instructions for David as they go. Excitingly they get a hit and David digs and digs and digs and digs and digs and digs but NOTHING. So they start again which feels like a step back. But eventually they get another hit and believe it or not they find something incredible (a nut and bolt with an Allen Key top). This is just the beginning of David's hunt for gold. Comedy actress Lolly Adefope is on the pod. Joe and David are delighted to see her and they talk about popping round to her house unannounced and what that would be like. After chatting about what it was like all working together on David and Joe's discontinued sitcom Rovers they ask Lolly what it was like working on Ghosts, a sitcom that did get recommisioned multiple times. Lolly tells them how she cried on the last day of filming Ghosts and how much she loved working on it. They talk about Lolly being in Mission Impossible (as a typist) and doing a scene with Tom Cruise slamming into the window behind her. She tells them she is the same height as Tom and what a lovely man he is as he gave her a compliment. They make her recreate her audition piece on the pod while they watch and give her direction. David has bought a metal detector and was going to take Joe out to experience his new found hobby but it’s pissing down and apparently the machine doesn’t work very well in the rain. So instead David tells Joe all about how much fun he had yesterday when he went metal detecting with the family. David tells Joe that he couldn't pluck up the courage to ask a farmer for permission to use the detector in their field so he got his wife Naomi to ask. They discuss why Naomi agreed to be the one to knock on the farmers door even though it's David's hobby. Continuing his story David tells Joe how they all climbed the fence to get in the field and within 5 minutes of firing up the dector found a Hay Rack Tine. Joe is off an adventure and zoom's David to show him where he is. It takes David a while to cotton on to where Joe is and what he is doing there. David tells Joe about his flirty window cleaning client that he had to deal with in the 90s who kept stroking his hands. They discuss whether this was appropriate behaviour for a client and what they would do if their wives held hands with the window cleaner. Then they introduce a new section called 'Leg Up' where they help promote a new venture or anyone that needs a leg up. Joe's friend has just started a jock strap business called Sticky Beard and secretly sent David a sample so they talk about this and how David thought it was someone else who had sent it to him. David takes Joe out for a supposedly scary trip along the remote roads of Dartmoor looking for the spirits and ghosts that are said to inhabit the county of Devon. Annoyingly it's not very dark but David still hopes they will come across the legendary 'Hairy Hands' on the B3212. Joe and David discuss that Josh Widdicombe has spoken about the tale of 'Hairy Hands' on quite a few different tv shows so they text him and he kindly joins them for a quick chat about it all. Josh goes on to tell them about another well known landmark on Dartmoor, a small burial ground called Jay’s Grave where fresh flowers mysteriously appear. Joe and Josh think that would have been a better place for David to have visited but David doesn’t agree. Joe and David meet Rock'n Rolls favourite magician Ben Taylor, a brilliant and funny magician who is also a mod hence his name 'The Magic Mod'. The wonder of magic never fails to enthrall and it's not long before they've regressed back to being excited children delighted to see Ben's magic tricks up close. Joe tries to narrate the tricks so listeners can enjoy them too, however this is harder than it looks so you might just have to listen to the lads enjoy them instead. David and Joe start worrying about their interviewing technique so David has the idea to listen back to some snippets of old interviews and see how they are behaving and its not good. They start opening up about how they feel while they are interviewing and all their insecurities pour out. David worries he says 'yeah' too much and Joe worries he giggles unnecessarily. After much squirming they come to the conclusion that Josh Widdicombe and Rob Beckett are much better at it cause they are really quick and funny.
