Send us a text This edition of the Litecast features plenty of discussion on the things you care about the most: Tiger King. In addition to discussing the motley cast of characters that occupy the most bizarre and compelling show on television, the gang also attempted to identify the few normal characters on the show (a difficult task to be honest). On a more serious note, the crew took a moment to discuss how social distancing has affected our work and personal lives, and how we have handled the unexpected and unwanted luxury of down time at home. Steve Prohm is looking for transfers, and the Litecast has you covered on that front! This episode also features a rundown of all names associated with the Cyclones as Steve Prohm attempts to bring balance to the roster. Litecast: Basketball Woes, Scorching Takes, and a Kmart Conspiracy Theory
ESend us a text After starting with the current disastrous state of Cyclone basketball, the crew jumped into a passionate discussion on Big 12 vs Big 10 basketball and the POTY year race (Luka Garza stinks, essentially). The Wide Right Money Line featured your guide to mid-major conference tournaments. Listen as Dylan and Austin breakdown which small conference tournaments are worth paying attention to from a gambling and a “finding a March Cinderella” perspective. Interestingly enough, the kicker we talk about actually decommitted WHILE WE WERE RECORDING.
Litecast: From Shooting Hoops to the Super Bowl
Send us a text Super Bowl Sunday has come and gone, and the crew is here to cover all the angles from the Chiefs remarkable victory. The current (and depressing) state of Cyclone basketball was also discussed, including future bright spots (Zion Griffin, Trae Jackson) and current concerns (George Conditt, inability to finish games, fan anguish). Litecast: Remembering Kobe Bryant, Recapping Auburn, and Super Bowl Proposition Bets
ESend us a text In this rather somber episode of the Litecast, the crew attempts to tackle a host of topics, but the news of the day made it rather difficult. The life and legacy of Kobe Bryan was discussed, including what he meant to kids growing up in the Midwest hundreds of miles from the nearest NBA city, what his legacy is and how the NBA remembers all he gave to the game, and how surreal it was to follow the news on social media in real time. The Cyclone’s 76-80 loss at Auburn was also discussed, which required some box-score and tea-leaf sifting to find the positives in the road defeat. On a happier note, the Super Bowl was also discussed, including our picks for the game as well as a host of proposition bets that we found interesting, including the odds on the halftime show, the length of the National Anthem (take the under), and some actual sport-related player props. Would you rather have an easy opponent, or a difficult one?
S1 Ep 66Dealing with Heartbreak in Norman, and Previewing the 'Horns

We were both encouraged by a lot of things we saw on offense, but the first half defense left us hanging with missed opportunities. Then, we take a stab at previewing this week's matchup with Texas. Will Iowa State take down Texas while being favored in the series for the first time ever? Or will Sam Ehlinger be too much to handle?
S1 Ep 65Previewing Iowa State-Oklahoma

While the performance was impressive overall, the Cyclones certainly weren't perfect, so we take a look at a few of those weaknesses and talk about what those could mean for this weekend's matchup with Baylor, and the rest of the season going forward. Then, we talk about this weekend's matchup with Baylor and how the Cyclone defense will look to stop the Baylor offense. Finally we talk a little about the new "development district" Jamie Pollard revealed earlier this week, and what the implications are for the athletic department as whole. Unsurprisingly, this conversation gave way to discussion about what restaurants, bars, and shops should occupy the new commercial space, which gave way to discussion about fast food and chicken after Cole proclaimed that Whataburger was "not that good." Yikes.

Send us a text This week, Marchie and Levi took a look at few of the major storylines around the football world, including our preview of Iowa State's first football game against Northern Iowa. First, we talk about last week's crazy, but ugly Florida-Miami game. It was interesting to watch, but how does the overall poor play of both teams affect perception of each team going forward? Next, we talk about Andrew Luck's shocking retirement this past weekend. With him and Rob Gronkowksi both retiring early due to injuries taking away their love of the game, could this be a part of a trend of players retiring early to prevent as much long term pain as possible? Could either of them eventually return to the NFL?Finally, we give our preview of Iowa State's game against Northern Iowa this weekend. What can we expect from the running backs and wide receivers? What quantifies a successful first game? Is a win enough, or do the Cyclones to blow out the Panthers?

Turns out, college athletes aren't that different from the rest of us.Finally, while discussing the implications of Spider-Man leaving Marvel and going back to Sony, the guys ended up debating whether Batman or Spider-Man would win in a fight. Marchie is firmly on Batman's side, while Cole and Levi sided with the friendly neighborhood Spider-Man. Who do you think would win?
S1 Ep 22019 Iowa State Football Season Preview - Defense & Special Teams
bonusSend us a text In part two of our comprehensive Iowa State football, Levi, Matthias, Cole, and Marchie return to talk about the Cyclone defense and special teams units.Iowa State brings back arguably the strongest defense in the conference, and one of the best defensive lines in the country. Will Iowa State's front seven be able to propel the team to the Big 12 title game? What does depth look like at cornerback after the graduation Brian Peavy and D'Andre Payne? Then, Cole tells us about what it really means when we hear that Connor Assalley is "comfortable from 50-53 yards," and it's probably not us sunny as you'd think. Then, he goes on to tell us a story about what kicking in Jack Trice Stadium is like that will make you never feel comfortable about anyone kicking a field goal ever again.
2019 Iowa State Football Season Preview - Offense
bonusSend us a text This week, we're doing a two part in-depth season preview podcast for the 2019 Iowa State football season. Up first is the offense where we talk about one of the most exciting units in school history. We broke the podcast down by position, and gave our thoughts on a myriad of questions, including: What does Brock Purdy's potential look like, and where can he take the team? Is 2019 "make-or-break" for Re-Al Mitchell? Which running back will end up leading the team in carries and receptions? Does it matter? Breece Hall is receiving rave reviews in camp, but will he get the start against UNI? Tarique Milton and Deshaunte Jones both have starting spots locked down at receiver, but who will line up with them on the outside? What does receiver production look like when the group doesn't have an "alpha" to rely on?" Can the tight ends finally step up and be the true threat we've been talking about them being for the last few years? Who takes the lead role? The Cyclones haven't had a consistent offensive line for years, but 2019 does show some promise. Can the current offensive line configuration of Good-Jones, Olsen, Newell, Knipfel, and Meeker become a "good" unit capable of creating space in the running game, or will we need to see new blood? Does the line set the floor or the ceiling for the Cyclone offense in 2019?
S1 Ep 54News from Fall Camp
Send us a text After a week of camp, Marchie got the scoop on what's been happening at practice on the offensive side of the ball. We talked about a few of his info nuggets, and what they might mean as we head into the meat of fall camp and the first game of the season.
