Responding to one of Ehrman’s lesser-known books, “God’s Problem”. We discuss the introduction to some of the problems Ehrman raises and dig into the first objection of is there a contradiction of God being sovereign and God being good with all the evil and suffering in the world. Ehrman is not much known for him being a theologian or a philosopher so an odd subject for him to tackle. However, this is a subject which everyone comes to ask themselves about and should ask if their worldview gives a consistent argument to explain the existence (or non-existence) of evil and suffering. For the third part of the tactic on identifying arguments that self-destruct, we look at two different ones. Here we delve deeper into the secular materialist when it comes to failing to account for the things seen in the world. We see that they tend to make leaps of faith in their outlook that they can’t back up. They then establish possible outcomes that are downright scary. To save them from immoral and asocietial stances, they adopted overriding beliefs wherein they act as if Christianity were true. The troubling and mystic beliefs of materialist show a flawed worldview that is unable to be grounded properly. This is a really interesting book in an interesting book series “Counterpoint Series”. It brings five powerhouses of apologetics in conversation over what is the best way to do apologetics. Each person presents a positive case for their preferred way and the others respond in critique and then a final response from the original presenter. It is amazing these authors brought together on this subject. We also present a little bit on a larger book in a similar subject and style from two authors categorizing apologetic methods and their development – “Faith Has Its Reasons” by Kenneth Boa and Robert M.
