Episode 110: Breaking Your Own Rules, Choosing Hope, and Giving Yourself Permission to Change Your Mind
Whew! It's nearly September, ladies! Where did summer go!? As we close out another season, I'm back with a life update, and some thoughts around why we should make (and break) our own rules, what it looks like to choose hope over fear, and why I am a huge fan of CHANGE. If you've been feeling some resistance lately, questioning everything, and feeling like you can't move forward until you know what's next, this episode is for you.
Episode 109: How to Be a HIGH VIBE Business Babe
I like to say I see the world through rosé colored glasses. I make it a point to choose optimistic, positive, blissful thoughts, which create an optimistic, positive, blissful reality. The first step to making any real change in our lives and our businesses is to change our energy. Our energy, or vibration, is the frequency we put out into the world that determines the quality of our experiences. Getting in a high vibe is the quickest way to supercharge your soul and skyrocket your success. We cannot create quality content from a low vibration. In this episode, I will help you identify what is, and what is not serving you, raise your frequency, and create your energetic outline for your success. Grab my digital course, Style Your Mind for Success here.
Episode 108: Asking Yourself the Hard Questions and Embracing Your TRUTH
Yes I cried during this episode, and no I did not edit it out. This one's a doozy. I hope it makes you feel something. To learn more about the mindful nutrition plan I'm on and join me in my community, please email me at [email protected].
Episode 107: Finding Comfort in the Question Mark with Angie Lee
I honestly could not love Angie Lee any more. I had a chance to sit down with her and talk all things bravery, building community, and learning to find comfort in the question mark. Angie is one of those few women who does it her way and isn't afraid to tell you why. If you've ever found yourself worried about the unknown, but excited about a brand new venture, this one's for you! She also gets vulnerable and talks about the process of removing her breast implants and why she did it. Pour a cup of coffee and dive into this inspiring, juicy, and hilarious episode. Connect with Angie here. Grab tickets her to event "Pays to Be Brave" here. Use code CARA at checkout and get 10% off your ticket! Follow Angie on Instagram here.
Episode 105: Let's REDEFINE Success!
I'm relishing in pub week and I continue to get asked 1 question that is so surprising to me. In this episode, I'm sharing what that question is, along with my thoughts on what true success looks and feels like for me. It's not what you think! I'm also offering some guidance for those who still struggle with wanting to be validated by outside forces - whether that be a title, money, awards, rankings, or anything that exists beyond us. Get ready to get EMPOWERED with this quick chat! Order my new book, Like She Owns the Place here!

I had to jump on and talk to you ladies about something that's been on my mind lately. I see SO MANY women completely confused and overwhelmed with the idea of being themselves. Episode 103: CHOOSE YOURSELF: Stop Waiting for Permission and Go Grab Your Dreams
If you've ever found yourself stalking your email waiting for an employer, publisher, blogger, or ANYONE to say "yes" then you know exactly what it's like to feel powerless. The moment we put our success in the hands of others is the moment we lose control of our future. In this episode, I'm sharing my own experience with choosing myself and the shifts you need to make to stop waiting for permission and go get every single thing you want. Your future is waiting on you. STOP WAITING ON SOMEONE ELSE. Pre-order my new book, LIKE SHE OWNS THE PLACE here.
Episode 102: Taking out the Energetic TRASH: How to Become a Match for What You Want
Did you ever notice when you stress out and worry over something you want, it feels even further out of reach? Or when you are working toward something you THINK you should want (but really, deep down you couldn't care less), it feels totally out of whack and gross? In this episode, I'm giving you a refresher on how to align with your desires and become an energetic match for the things you truly want for yourself. Episode 101: Staying SANE with Social Media and Technology Featuring Dr. Fritz
Social media has changed the game for us - whether we run a business online or not. We're constantly checking our phones throughout the day, responding to messages and absorbing information - and it's overwhelming. So how do we utilize the benefits of technology but also stay sane? Where do we draw the line between being available to others online but also keeping some boundaries? Join me for this fascinating conversation about the way social media has changed our brains with psychologist and coach Dr. Fritz Galette. You'll walk away with some practical tips on how to manage the abundance of communication that consumes our daily lives. Connect with Dr. Fritz online here.
Episode 100: Your Life is Your Art. What Are You Creating?
When is the last time you spontaneously created something? Calling myself an artist rather than an entrepreneur has been a game-changer. It has allowed me to work from my soul rather than a blueprint. In this episode, I'm sharing my thoughts on creativity and getting back in touch with our intuition when it comes to our work and the mark we're leaving on the world.
Episode 99: Mental Health, Boundaries & New Levels as a Successful Woman
We need to talk about mental health. In light of the recent suicide of Kate Spade, and watching so many women (myself included) struggle with overwhelm, anxiety, and depression, it's time to talk about what happens behind the lip gloss and selfies. Behind the best seller lists and seven-figure incomes. In this episode, I'm vulnerably talking about my own personal boundaries and how I'm changing what I allow into my world, and sharing tips on how to prioritize your overall well being as a woman in business. Pre-order my new book, Like She Owns the Place, here.
Episode 98: POSITIVE Weight Loss is a Thing - And I'm Doing It!
As someone who has struggled with her weight for most of her entire life (I joined weight watchers at 11 years old) I know what it feels like to have a completely dysfunctional relationship with food and with my body. After becoming a professional dieter, and losing and gaining weight like it was my job, I was done. Done beating myself up. Done starving. Done binging. Done putting the keys to my self-worth inside a pair of skinny jeans. I spent years reprogramming my brain and finding ways to accept myself for who I am and what I look like, regardless of what the number on the scale said. I immersed myself in the body positivity movement and it saved my sanity. I finally learned to love myself – fully. I felt better, like I could breathe again. But at the same time, I knew I wasn't my fully being my best self if I was overweight, and on the road to putting myself at risk for disease. Not to mention, not feeling entirely confident in my skin. Yes, I loved myself. But I didn't love my reflection because I knew, deep down, it wasn't me. Being 100% honest here. And then recently it hit me – you CAN be body positive. You CAN love your body. And STILL want it to be leaner, stronger, smaller, and healthier. You can love your body, and want to make it better. I had made "weight loss" a dirty term because I thought wanting to lose weight meant you didn't love yourself. And that's completely untrue. What a revelation. And we all know a good revelation leads to a revolution… In this episode, I'm sharing how I gained a completely NEW perspective on weight loss, and have already lost over 10 pounds in 3 weeks in the most positive, effortless way possible. To join me on my new mindset and nutrition journey, click here. All the details for joining are listed in the bottom of that blog post. If you're in the US or UK, please email me and I will get you started.

Episode 96: Why the GRIT is More Inspiring than the GLAMOUR
You know who I love to follow online? Grassroots girls who are doing business THEIR way. Girls running shit out of their bedrooms. Girls with an insatiable hunger for success, believing with every single ounce of their soul that their small business in their small town is WORTH it. I don't follow the "big" coaches, public figures, or super popular entrepreneurs. I am alllll about the DIY hustle. I don't need to see fancy photo shoots at expensive hotels in faraway exotic lands. I wanna see you in your living room with your dog packing up makeup orders. I wanna see your selfies, in your workout clothes, helping others, in your little corner of the world. Unknown. Underground. Girls with SICK potential and grit and glamour and an unfuckwithable drive. THAT is what inspires me. In this quick episode, I'm telling you why PROGRESS beats PERFECTION any day of the week. If you've been holding back because you don't feel you have "enough" to offer, then this episode is for you.
Episode 95: Birthday Reflections: How I'm Planning to Show Up Bolder Than Ever + Let Go of the Fear of JUDGMENT!
It's my birthday! As I enter my 38th year of life and my 10th year as a blogger-turned-coach-turned-author-turned self-empowered woman, I have a LOT on my mind. I've been thinking about how I want to continue showing up in the world. As a woman. As a business woman. As someone who has a lot of eyes on her, and a massive platform to express herself through and help women. I'm going to admit something: I sometimes edit myself. I sometimes hold back on saying things I really want to say because I don't want to offend people. Or ruffle feathers. Know what's interesting? I NEVER did this in the beginning of my career. Because nobody was really paying attention. And if they weren't paying attention, they weren't judging. And if I wasn't being judged I felt safe. But as I've grown and become more of a public figure, I fell into the habit of biting my tongue. This isn't to say I haven't been real, but I've held back on expressing my thoughts at times because frankly, I just don't want to deal with people's reactions. I don't like negativity. But I just can't go on muting myself because someone may have a problem with something I do or say. I can't risk MY truth because of someone else's response to it. In this episode, I'm digging into why we should all be unapologetically ourselves, why that doesn't mean we're being "bitches", and why we need to take some of the pressure off others who we admire.
Episode 94: Following Your FIRE! How I Had My Biggest Week EVER in Business + How to Confidently SELL
In this episode, I'm breaking down how and why last week was my biggest week EVER in business. From the mindset shifts I made, to what I needed to let go of to make it happen, I'm letting you guys in for a behind-the-scenes look so that you can use some of these strategies to push yourself and cultivate your own success. I'm also sharing my perspective on why you shouldn't be scared to put yourself out there and sell your products and services and why it's really SO much easier than you think. Episode 88: Women Supporting Women is Not Just a Holiday or a Hashtag: Are You LIVING Your Message and Practicing What You Preach?
Happy International Women's Day! You ladies know I preach about the importance of supporting women every single day. I write about it in my books, I coach my clients on it, and I discuss it in my girl gang, the Slay Baby Collective. It's not just an annual holiday for me; I talk about it in television segments, on the radio, and on this podcast every single week. It's my passion and my life's work. On social media, one of the ways to promote this message and connect with other like-minded women is to use hashtags like #girlpower, #womenempoweringwomen, and #endgirlhate, to name a few. If you've searched these tags, you've probably seen more and more accounts popping up lately with the same message. And it's not just Instagram that's making girl power so cool lately. Pins, patches, and tee shirts available at major retailers like Nordstrom and Bloomingdales with cutesy terms like "Girl Gang" are popping up everywhere. But the question is, are women really practicing what they post, and wear? And will they practice it beyond a few months of pretty quotes on social media and a sweatshirt from Wildfox? I ask this, not because I'm doubtful. If anything, I'm hopeful. I think it's wonderful that women are seeing the importance of getting behind each other. But I want to encourage all of us to check in with ourselves and make sure we're taking these terms and applying them to our lives and our careers. Grab my coaching workbook and lifestyle guide, Style Your Mind, here.

Episode 71: Dry January, Mindful Drinking, + Moderation
As some of you may know, I have been exploring my relationship with alcohol since the end of 2015. You can read more about my journey on the blog (click here), but I know I am not alone when I say drinking does not always serve me. In fact, it rarely does. Throughout the years, I've found myself hungover on way too many occasions, unable to reach my health and fitness goals, and just not operating at my optimal capacity. It has wreaked havoc on my confidence, left me in a bit of a fog at times, and hindered my spirit. I am ready to LEVEL UP in 2018, and booze isn't really a part of that program. I'm not saying I will never touch a drink again, but I am seriously cutting back - again. If you're considering a Dry January, an indefinite break from alcohol, or you just feel like you want to cut back a few days a week, then this episode may motivate you to do just that.
