Ep 79Episode #079: Walter Bosley on Sir Richard F. Burton
We talk with Walter Bosley on his book "Secret Missions II: The Lost Expedition of Sir Richard Francis Burton", which, if you haven't read it...go read it. Right now. We'll wait. .... .... Done? Ah yes, you have the classic "omg my mind is blown" facial expression. Good. We talk about that mind blowing book in this episode, and more. For those who have seen the movie "The Lost City of Z" about the adventures of Col. Percy Fawcett, this is like that, only more. And before. Basically, the stuff in that movie happened because of the stuff in Bosley's book. You can find Walter Bosley on Facebook, and follow him on Twitter at @WBBosley. His books are available on lulu. He also has a blog called Empire of the Wheel .
Ep 78Episode #078: George Howard
We have a very special episode for all you snake sibs out there, we interviewed Mr. George Howard, who has been involved with the Comet Research Group from the very beginning in the work on the Younger Dryas Impact Hypothesis, which we have spoken of many times in previous episodes. George gives us all kinds of insider insights on the evolution of the hypothesis over the years, leading up to and including the recent publications on the Hiawatha Crater in Greenland, and where he sees the research going in the future and how this new data might affect the "standard model" of human development. George also sets the record straight on the attempted character assassination of Dr. Allen West, discusses the Carolina Bays, the Alaska Muck, and at least once refers to skerptards as "skerptards". Follow George on Twitter @CosmicTusk and at his website and blog, The Cosmic Tusk. Enjoy! Ep 77Episode #077: Solving Alchemical Mysteries
We read and discuss articles about recent earthquake mysteries, vanishing quasars, and a very strange standalone doorway in Rome called the Porta Alchemica which has inscribed upon it numerous riddles which we endeavor to solve on the fly. In the final segment, Russ reads from Michael Cremo's book Hidden History of the Human Race, focusing on a few of the anomalous discoveries of human artifacts buried in strata that is normally considered to be hundreds of millions of years old.
Ep 76Episode #076: Clint Beckham - Round II
Mr. Clint Beckham is back again, joining us in the infamous Tangent Cube of Science to discuss all things arrowheads and ancient Native American cultures and mysteries. It was a fantastic and fun show. [email protected] (830) 313-2648 Aoudad Adventures & More
Ep 75Episode #075: Greenland Crater - What Does It Mean
We talk about the Greenland Impact Crater in the first segment and what that means for the Younger Dryas Impact Hypothesis and the history of the human race in general. We read select sections from Graham Hancock's book Magicians of the Gods regarding unexplained and highly scientific artifacts on the Altiplano around Lake Titicaca including the megalithic sites of Tiahuanaco and Puma Punku, anomalous advances in agriculture from thousands of years ago, and the Aymara language itself appearing to have been constructed instead of arising organically. In the final segment we go through some of the really astonishing astronomical, biological, and philosophical correlations contained in ancient metrology, ancient structures, and mythology, respectively. Ep 74Episode #074: More Missing 411
We spend most of this episode going through cases from David Paulides' book, Missing 411: Western United States and Canada. We discuss each case briefly, then finish up with a more in depth discussion in the final segment.
Ep 73Episode #073: Missing 411
After a fantastic SpaceWeatherNews update we do some listener maintenance and read some emails and promote our brand new Twitter feed (@SnkBrs), re-re-explain Precession again in another different way, then move on to some serious Missing 411 stuff in the second hour of the show. Clearly, Kyle identifies with the Physicists. Russ, on the other hand, is not even on this graph.
Ep 72Episode #072: Precession. Of Course.
After SpaceWeatherNews and a SunProbe update, we read a story about a mystery boom heard at the Serpent Mound in Ohio, and Brenner (returning as a special guest for this special episode) reads a story about the return of the Skull Asteroid of Certain Death this Halloween. Russ then recounts some personal anecdotes about strange sounds and other "ghostly" phenomena. We then get to the main topic of the show, which is the Precession of the Equinoxes. Of course. Because 72. Kyle's Precession Diagrams, showing how the axial wobble shifts the seasons around the orbit of the sun, and thus the zodiacal constellations relative to the sun's position in the sky
Ep 71Episode #071: The Fairy Faith in Celtic Countries
After our normal SpaceWeatherNews update and some pontificating about quantum mechanics and other things we completely do not understand, we spend the rest of the show going through a selection of fairy folklore tales from the excellent book "The Fairy Faith in Celtic Countries" by W. Y. Evans-Wentz, and discussing the many connections to other mythologies, both ancient and modern.
Ep 70Episode #070: A Species with Amnesia
In this episode we have a wide ranging discussion on everything from the philosophy of falsification in science, to the ramifications of being a species with amnesia, to the similarities between the Samaipata Megalith in Bolivia and the Yonaguni Monument in Japan. Stonehenge Heel Stone Uluru (Ayers Rock) Temple of Man, Tiahuanaco. Note the many faces protruding from the lower wall Faces in the wall More faces Closeup of some of the odd faces Puma Punku Some of the many intricately carved blocks of Puma Punku Samaipata Megalith, Bolivia Model of the megalith
Ep 69Episode #069: Crop Circles and SciFi
We discuss a wide range of topics on this episode including the mystery of the ever-burning lamps, a new scientific paper proposing that the octopus is an alien species that came to Earth in cometary ice over 200 million years ago, crop circles and stone circles and subtle earth energies, and the role that science fiction has played in the advancement of science.
Ep 68Episode #068: The Secret Teachings of All Ages
After a SpaceWeatherNews update we discuss a weekend trip to Big Bend National Park and the observations of the geological mysteries there by Russ and The Watcher. Russ talks about a new Aptronym he discovered, then we move into some follow-up discussion on the Epic of Gilgamesh and how that story may be connected to the mysteries of Viracocha/Quetzalcoatl and the giant basalt heads of the "Olmec". For the second half of the show, we play a brief clip from a lecture given by Dr. Manly P. Hall, where he touches on many of the topics we talk about, essentially proving that he was, in fact, a SnakeBro. Even if he didn't know it at the time.
Ep 67Episode #067: The Epic of Gilgamesh
In this episode Kyle gives us a detailed and fantastic rendition of the oldest known written tale, the Epic of Gilgamesh. We discuss the possible meanings and symbolism and hidden truths contained in the story, but mostly, we just sit back and enjoy this most epic and ancient tale of Gilgamesh, King in Uruk.
Ep 66Episode #066: Antarctica and the Breakaway Civilization
In this episode we take a deep dive beneath the Antarctic ice into a conspiracy-laden rabbit hole of UFOs, ancient aliens, ruins of a lost civilization, WWII era German nationalist breakaway civilizations, geopolitics, the airship sightings mystery, abductions, contactees, Project Blue Book and much more.
Ep 65Episode #065: Skerptards Skerpderp
In this episode we discuss the Snakebros Glossary terms, which leads to all kinds of different topics ranging from the philosophy of science to ancient megalithic sites. In the second half of the show, we discuss common arguments made by skerptards and by people who aren't skerptards but who are unknowingly regurgitating common skerptardian fallacies.
Ep 64Episode #064: Yonaguni Monument and the Plain of Jars
Subtitle: Giant Stone Lizards and Hands and Eyes and Heads and Belts and Jars and Balls and Ba'albek and Pyramids and Beerpong After some news updates about spaceweather and immortality vitamins, we read some more sections from Graham Hancock's book Underworld, this time focusing on the Yonaguni monument of the coast of Japan. We also discuss the Plain of Jars in Laos, and the correlations to other megalithic monuments around the world. 3D Model of Yonaguni Monument 3D Model Divers over the monument The two upright megaliths near the monument Between the megaliths A channel or trough in the monument Plain of Jars, Laos Drone image of a more dangerous area of the Plain of Jars One of the largest jars The large jar A jar split by a tree Stone jars in the Bada Valley in Sulawesi Another Bada Valley jar Stone lid for jar in Sulawesi Another lid Strange stylized monolithic statue in Bada Valley. Ep 63Episode #063: Pyramids and Aliens
After some excellent Spaceweathernews updates Russ goes through some missing information he missed when discussing missing people in episode 61. This eventually leads to a brief discussion on the topic of alien abductions, implants, and the possible connections to shamanism. In the second half of the show, we read portions of Graham Hancock's book Underworld, in which he describes the mysterious pyramids dotting the tropical jungles of Maldive islands that are off limits to tourists, and what this might mean regarding possible submerged ruins in and around the Maldives. This then leads to the topic of rock-cut temples found around the world, and how they are basically impossible to explain as being cut by hand using conventional tools. Ep 62Episode #062: Hunting and Arrowhead Digging Guide - Clint Beckham
In this episode we have Clint Beckham in the 10x10x10 Tangent Cube of Science with us to discuss all things arrowheads and hunting and how to survive out in the desert with nothing but a goat skin and a single straw. Clint does paid digs and hunts all over Texas and elsewhere and has been doing these things most of his life, so he has a lot of knowledge and experience and some fantastic stories to tell. Ep 61Episode #061: Coral Castle, Voynich Manuscript, Mass Disappearances
After an awesome new SUNPROBE update and a few other interesting news items, we dive into the mystery of Edward Leedskalnin and his megalithic Coral Castle, the enigmatic Voynich Manuscript, and multiple cases of mass disappearances that have occurred throughout history. We also take some time to discuss the new emerging physics of Quantum Field Theory. Coral Castle Sculpture garden at Coral Castle The Tower at Coral Castle Coral Castle Spiral Well Voynich Manuscript Strange Flora of the Voynich Manuscript "Magic Circles" of the Voynich Manuscript Astrological Circles of the Voynich Manuscript Naked Ladies in weird tubes. Note the calligraphic nature of the script
Ep 60Episode #060: Black Holes and Our Lonely Civilization
We open the show with spaceweathernews about NASA making the "coldest place in space" using incredibly hot lasers, and giant rogue MagnePlanets hurtling through the interstellar void sucking up all the spacemetal. We then read a couple of articles regarding a new spate of mystery booms in Tennessee. Kyle proposes a brand new hypothesis involving a black hole and local time dilation and how that may be a possible explanation for why the rest of the universe looks so weird in some ways, and why alien civilizations seem to be scarce when they shouldn't be. We finish the show discusing the mystery of giant spiraling wheels of light reported seen in the oceans and seas around the world, and what their possible causes may be.
Ep 59Episode #059: Strange Things in the Woods
We start this episode with some space news and space weather updates, salty puddles on Mars possibly containing bactaliens, and new low frequency Fast Radio Bursts, possibly from other, more intelligent, technologically advanced bactaliens. From there we move on to an article from Mysterious Universe containing reports of many strange and bizarre encounters and experiences that people have had in the deep wilderness, which leads to discussions of carnivorous rocks and ufos and samsquanches and dead goats and smokesnakes. Clearly this is ruins of the Castle Ahhhhhg Octopus camo
Ep 58Episode #058: Rockwall
In this episode we interview Mrs. Patti Canup from Rockwall, Texas, about the famous(some would say infamous) rock wall that has been found buried there all through the county since the pioneer days of the 1800s. The interview goes for about an hour, then we spend the final two segments of the show discussing the photographs and newspaper articles Mrs. Canup sent us along with some follow-up research we did on the geology and possible ancient connections of this enigmatic stone edifice. Conclusion? Somone built it, and they weren't called Nature. An actual natural sandstone dike Another natural dike
Ep 57Episode #057: Fossil Footprints and Digging for Arrowheads
After a brief sun probe update we read a short article on weird spacewhale sounds coming from a moon of Saturn, which sort of makes sense because the moon is covered in water but is still pretty weird because the water is all ice. We then spend the next few segments describing our most recent SnakeBros SnakeForce Field Trip where we drank hundreds of beers in a river named after the devil, found lots of amazing ancient artifacts and dozens of world-class fossil footprints, located ancient beach sand in the middle of the desert, ate tons of tacos and pancakes, and destroyed an innocent cloud with mind bullets. The mysteries we saw in the field lead us into a conversation about the larger mysteries of human habitation in the Americas, ranging from the controversial Huyatlaco site in Mexico to strange carved stones found in the northeastern U.S. Enjoy! Note 2: The stock iPhone podcast app does not display images. iPhone users should use the following link to see the images: Episode 57 webpage This is one of the best sets of hominid prints The "mine shelter". Or a degraded human print, very small, wearing some kind of footgear This looks like a very large human print, angled to the left, with a smaller print on its right side, angled right Degraded but still visible, size normal for a human print The lighter is next to a fairly clear print, notice all the degraded imprints around it Prints and toe marks I think this guy slipped a bit Two prints side by side, right one larger than the left. Again note all the imprints around them, particularly the print on the lower right Lots of prints, toes are clear in most of them Very clear set of toe marks from a right foot. Forgot to place lighter on this one, dammit Large foot. Toe prints. Small foot. Toe prints. This and the following two images are of very similar large prints of similar depth and size, but I have no idea what they are Mammoth? Or some other very large animal. Another mammoth-ish print. Ep 56Episode #056: Bananas are Impossible(Knock on Wood)
We open the show with some snakenews about how scientists are going to touch the sun from behind a supershield from 4 million miles away. We talk about the superstition of "knock on wood" and where it came from, and Russ reads an article on Ouija and then flips out about bananas, which Brett explains is a berry that grows on an herb that looks like a tree with potatoes for roots. After that, we talk again about doppler and redshift and how the universe is probably not what we think it is.
Ep 55Episode #055: Retrocausality, CO2, and the Longevity of the Ancients
After a quick mention of the Lavanado in Hawaii being even more terrifying than a Sharknado, we will have been going to eventually then diving into a discussion about retrocausality and its wider implications for how it does previously later affect our future past actions. Once after we have will be finished that topic, we finally did eventually get our timeline straight by reading an article about the ancient Sumerian Kings List, which leads into a discussion on possible precessional clues and longevity of the gods and space genes. We finish out the episode discussing the carbon cycle and the fact that so much benefit to the biosphere has been shown to take place by increasing CO2 levels and thus massively increasing the awesomeness of plant life.
Ep 54Episode #054: EM Fields and Ancient Technology
We begin by determining the plausibility of excited soccer fans in Mexico causing a 2.0 richter earthquake by converting the total energy of the earthquake into equivalent Black Cat explosions and dividing that into the estimated number of excited soccer fans. At roughly 72 Black Cats per fan, we here at SnakeBros have deemed that this is a plausible explanation(given the estimated number of tacos and nachos consumed prior to the goal being made). Kyle then reads several excerpts from Forgotten Civilizations, starting a whole conversation about electromagnetic fields and giant blocks and glowing crystal obelisks and the Yuga cycle and longheads and Vimana and secret Nepha spaceships and space genes and smartwater and basically that magnets can help you read minds and explode meteors over Russia and build pyramids and grow space genes. Also, Dolmens are involved. Somehow. Anyway hopefully you still have your appendix. Enjoy the show.
Ep 53Episode #053: Pre-Columbian Contact and the Enigma of the Mines
After reading an excellent email from Mr. England about the simulation hypothesis, Russ reads a section from Dolmens: Part 2 in an attempt to show why he didn't understand wtf the author was trying to say even though it's clear the author does know a hell of a lot about those dolmen.....things. Kyle reads an excerpt from Dr. Robert Schoch's book Forgotten Civilizations about 12ft giants on Easter Island that moved the Moai statues by the simple expedient of allowing the volcano to explode and blow them all over the island. We go through three excellent Mine The Hive articles, on the Michigan Mines, evidence of precolombian contact with the Americas, and the London Hammer. We laugh about how uniformitarians explain away the latter by totally discarding uniformitarianism.... but you know, just that one time. Which is also very un-uniformitarianesque(we are allowed to make up words here at Snakebros). We finish off the show with some select axioms about truth-seeking and conspiritards. The Newberry Tablet Newberry Tablet Script Ship Petroglyph One of the mine entrances Handprint in stone, possibly of one of the miners. The hand is....kind of large. Just sayin'
Ep 52Episode #052: Dolmens and the Wielders of the Shamir
Russ starts the show with a fantastic headline from the Flat Earth Society and then proceeds to flip out about aptronyms. Kyle then reads an article that points out that humans can live on Mars provided they are in space suits. We then turn to the topic of dolmens, the fact that over 90,000 of them have been found around the world, they are precisely engineered, are of uncertain age, and have no known function. We(mostly Kyle) gives several possibilities as to the function of these mysterious ancient constructions. After explaining that we'd love for people to help us pay to go get lost and die, we wrap it up with an overview of the picture of the ancient world that we have been outlining throughout the past 52 shows. Thanks for sticking with us this far, and enjoy the show!
Ep 51Episode #051: What if it was the Sun
No description. Might be about the sun causing the last mass extinction. Listen and find out!
Ep 50Episode #050: Ancient Lost Underground Cities Make Ahura Mazda Most Happy
No description, but there is a title. It's probably about Zoroastrianism.
Ep 49Episode #049: Gods of Eden and Worlds in Collision
EKyle has been "reading" Velikovsky's "Worlds in Collision" so we spend most of the show discussing the alternate view of history Velikovsky proposes in that book, and in the fourth segment, Russ reads some excerpts from William Brambley's "Gods of Eden" regarding the medieval plagues and how those epidemics seemed to be a result of objects being seen in the sky and strange black clad figures moving through crop fields at night.
Ep 48Episode #048: Sacred Geometry and Ancient Architects
EWhy do ancient ruins align astronomically, or incorporate fundamental universal constants such as π(Pi) or φ(Phi)? Why was world-changing, mind-opening knowledge made esoteric, concealed behind symbols in stories and works of art? Why do so many ancient ruins appear like mysterious puzzles, with clear traces of technology but unfathomable function? Why are pyramids so cool and who the fuck builds a stonehenge? These are some of the questions we completely fail to answer on this episode, continuing our discussion from previous episodes, stemming from Kyle's perusal of the Book of Enoch(by Enoch). References in the notes of that hoary tome led Russ to acquire Megalithic Architects Book 1: Thoth, the Architect of the Universe, by Ralph Ellis, a book that is concerned mostly with ancient metrology, or systems and units of measure. Why couldn't the ancients just use the metric system like normal, sane people who find simple arithmetic understanding like nine equals 3/4ths of 12 (9in. is 3/4 of one ft) too hard? Why are there three feet in a yard when we only have two feet? Why aren't inches called toes and why are there twelve in a foot when we only have ten, five to a foot? And which yard are they talking about anyway, the front or the back? We don't know the answers to these questions. Maybe the ancients hadn't "progressed" to the point where they needed to use fingers and toes to help them do basic arithmetic. That's evolution for ya, baby. We talk about all these things and more on this episode. Enjoy! P. S. To all you Metric System devotees out there: How long is a parking meter?
Ep 47Episode #047: Comparative Snakeology
EWe emerge puffy-faced and bleary-eyed from a five-day internet blackout, unbathed, unshaven, clothes worn ragged on our backs, only to realize it's Tuesday and thus time to record a podcast. Having been able to do no research at all because of the blackout, we decide that it doesn't really matter because we've never done research for these shows anyway. But Kyle recalls something from ancient times that may help us, an archaic alchemical practice involving the use of caustic acids to acquire organic fibres extracted from certain deciduous growths, which are then embedded within the matrix of a special resin aggregate. This is followed by the precise and minute application of a special solution comprised of a mixture of obscure dark powders from deep in the Punjab in India, which are completely dissolved into carefully filtered and distilled alcohol. When this is done properly, beneath the light of a waxing gibbous harvest moon, with the precise performance of all ritual movements, burnt sacrifices, and praises raised to the dark gods of hidden knowledge, the result is an actual physical object shaped like a small box, which contains within it all manner of complex and secret knowledge and practices. This thing, which the ancients were aware of and of which they made plenty, was called a "book". Mind => Blown So the first two segments are spent discussing the contents of a book Kyle has been going through(a little number some of you might be familiar with called "The Book of Enoch", by Enoch) as well as a book Russ has been studying(called "The Velikovsky Heresies" by Laird Scranton). Actually, the discussion was supposed to be focused on the Book of Enoch, but Russ keeps bringing up the Velikovsky Heresies almost as if he's trying to say "Hey, look, I can read books too" or something. For the second hour our longstanding resident Show Observer and Fact Checker extraordinaire, Mr. Brett England, B. Sci, EMT, MiB, WtF etc etc joins us in-studio because the conversation wasn't confusing enough in the first two segments. The three of us ponder the origins of the esoteric traditions and make fun of materialists before moving, in the final segment, to a minor expose on the strange subject of Zoroastrianism and their singular god of the winged disk and small asian cars, Ahura Mazda. The Book of Bigoted Old Shaman Kyle's phone reads this to him at work The 50th Parallel is the curved red line crossing the upper part of the map The ruins in a Siberian lake Ahura Mazda: The Man in the Winged Disc Being depicted on cylinder seals makes Ahura Mazda most happy
Ep 46Episode #046: Cicada 3301 and Other Mysterious Puzzles
ESome interesting "weird news" items this week, 50,000 year old carved stone heads found in Texas and Pleistocene Buttflappers used the Distraction Dance on Giant Sloths when hunting them, for example. Some obligatory ridicule of the paradigm here as well. Russ reads an article about the strange "Cicada 3301" superpuzzles that have appeared online, leading thousands of some of the most intelligent and knowledgeable people on the planet through a bewildering crypto-labyrinth where Mayan numerology, Victorian Gothic poetry, and obscure magical grimoires from the Middle Ages are just a few of the many things that people are required to have knowledge of in order to solve the puzzles and acquire the clues for locating more, until eventually the people at the head of the game, the ones solving it better and faster than everyone else, are whisked away into the shadows, never to be heard from again; like they got hired to be MiB or something. There is also mention of the similar strange metagame from KanyeQuest, that leads one toward "Ascension" for an as-yet unknown goal, that Russ participated in briefly and helped solve a few of the puzzles and decipher a clue or two. In the second half of the show, for the first segment we discuss Episode 045, the interview with Mr. Spriggs about the Missing 411 mystery, and what our developing thoughts are on that whole topic. The final segment is spent talking philosophical concepts concerning the primacy of frequency in the material realm, and how some of it seems to originate from some other, perpendicular non-material realm. Kyle describes his thoughts about musical instruments and how they seem to be in some ways transducers of emotion into actual physical form. It's a good show. Enjoy.
Ep 45Episode #045: "Into Nowhere" with Thomas Spriggs
EWe have author Thomas Spriggs with us for this show to discuss his excellent book "Into Nowhere", an examination of the regions and patterns of disappearances enumerated by Dave Paulides in his Missing 411 series of books. This is a very heavy topic, one that is discussed often on this podcast as one of the most pressing and disturbing mysteries of our times, and we were hoping to have a productive conversation on the topic that does not simply recount strange stories of missing persons, and Mr. Spriggs certainly delivers. He has been keeping up with the tracking of what he calls "active regions" since publishing his book, and he weaves a description of an intelligent and aware predator that knows enough about humans and human civilization to spread the abductions just far enough apart in time and distance to keep them from reaching the collective awareness as a distinct phenomena, but that once you connect the cases, you can detect the linear movement of this.... whatever this thing is. All in all it is a fascinating discussion, and we just go straight through for two hours, no breaks, do not pass Go, do not collect $200, go directly to end of SnakeBros 45 and at least a few sleepless nights, huddled in the blankets, every light on in the entire house, trying not to disappear, like so many others, Into Nowhere. Ep 44Episode #044: Electric Universe, Magnetic Universe
EWe're still in the Electric Universe rabbithole for this show, so we've been looking at various signs, sigils, symbols, petroglyphs, rock art, ancient structures, and modern mysterious phenomena in light of the EU cosmology. In this episode we consider the Paracas Candelabra, the Nazca Lines, the Atacama Giant, the Band of Holes, and many other strange artifacts of the ancient past. We look again at Bermuda Triangle phenomena, the Hutchison Effect, the Dragon's Triangle off the coast of Japan, and the concept of other universes coexisting in the same space as ours, yet forever out of reach.
Ep 43Episode #043: Electric Universe and Trumpets of the Apocalypse
EWhat's a show about fringe science, alternative cosmologies, ancient mysteries, and snakes without some good ole' Chinese Dragons surfing the enormous Universe-Waves of the Cosmic Æther while Thunderbolts of the Gods flash between planets/stars/galaxies keeping those islands of light and warmth energized as oases against the Stygian Darkness of the in-between, where nothing is, yet from whence all nightmares come; without Pyramids as Catalysts for a gold-dust Tesla-inspired Supershield against the catastrophic chaos of intra-solar gravito-electric regime-change and shifting plasma sheaths of suns, without the ponderous zodiacal Wheel of Time spinning backward in prediction of all things future? Nothing, that's what. But this show, ladies and gentlemen, delivers. 'Nuff said. Enjoy. Pics because it happened. Ep 42Episode #042: Life, the Universe, and Hive Mining Everything
EWe have two guests joining us from MineTheHive for this episode, so we talk about their experiences with lucid dreaming and out-of-body/astral travel, and that leads to sleep paralysis and aliens and eventually, pyramids. If there's one thing we've learned doing SnakeBros, it's that everything eventually comes back to pyramids. Which in this particular case is good because, this being episode 42, the theme was "Life, The Universe, and Everything", and since everything eventually comes back to pyramids, we just talk about pyramids for the rest of the show and call it good. But while we're talking about pyramids we also ask our guests about the website and why they decided to build it, what the name means, and where did their interest in these topics originate. In the second half of the show, we continue talking about everything(pyramids) and about the interesting fact that so many ancient and mysterious sites have unfinished blocks or statues or obelisks in the associated quarries, and how that may be a kind of "signature" of the lost civilization that (hypothetically) built so many of these sites. Stone of the Pregnant Woman, Ba'albek, Lebanon. Until recently, this was the largest known cut stone block in the world. Estimates range from 1000-1400 tons. That's up to 2.8 million pounds. More recent photo. Block from the first pic is the one on top. It is sitting on top of two more giant blocks that are even larger, estimates range between 1400-1800 tons, or up to 3.6 million pounds. Stone of the South. Somewhere between the Ba'albek quarry and the Ba'albek ruins, like it was in the process of being moved but something caused the work to stop, and it was never started back up. The lines and notches in the block are from people much more recently using the block itself as a quarry. The Unfinished Obelisk at Aswan Quarry, Egypt. This is the place where a lot of the high-quartz-content granite used in many ancient monuments in Egypt came from, the famous "pink granite" of Aswan. This obelisk is enormous, as can be seen by the size of the people standing on it. It is more than one third larger than the largest known standing obelisk. Yangshan Quarry, China. This is one of three gigantic objects in the quarry, supposedly parts of a stele that was going to be erected in a nearby city but these were abandoned as being far too large to be actually moved. We find this very hard to believe. That is a lot of work and a huge mistake, no pun intended. Another part of the "abandoned stele" in Yangshan Quarry. Seems like somebody should have figured out "this is waaaaaay too big guys" long before they did so much work. You know? Huge unfinished Moai at Easter Island. Some of the enigmatic stone spheres of Costa Rica. The large ones are more than 8 ft. in diameter, and they are all geometrically perfect spheres. The weird crystal cube bowl gear thingies from the Giza plateau.
Ep 41Episode #041: The Places Where Men Became Gods
EWe start this episode by giving props to Flat Earther Mike Hughes for his ingenuity and attempting to find out the truth for himself, and also for the enormous cojones required to launch oneself towards outer space in a steam powered home made rocket, because holy fucking shit that is awesome. After briefly mentioning a few more Weird News stories, we read an excellent article from MineTheHive about a very strange site in China that may be remnants of ancient technology upwards of 150,000 years old, then segue smoooooothly into the main topic of this episode, which is Kyle's developing ideas regarding the ancient sites around the world that are referred to as places where "men became gods". We finish the show by detailing the very strange and infamous incident at Dyatlov Pass, a topic that came up because a hiker has been reported missing out there just last week.
Ep 40Episode #040: Chaos in the Cube
EWe brave a Tangent Cube full of Trolls, Bad Dad Jokes and restless dogs to bring you Episode 40 on the Vernal Equinox, and a continuation of our discussion about ancient astronomy and our work on the Great Texinian Hill Henge Project which we broke ground on early this morning, using the equinoctial dawn to locate True East, and from there, the other three cardinal directions. We also installed our first wooden post marking the East, with an Avenue of the Sun and the beginnings of a sun dial using the shadow of the post. We have special guest Matt Stone in studio with us, he has circumnavigated the globe at least twice without lifting a finger simply by maintaining a berth on various ships of the U. S. Navy. He has been to many exotic places but apparently has failed to visit even a single pyramid. When asked about any ancient or mysterious places he has seen, he tells a story about a redhead from Malta that was attached to the UN. (Purely anecdotal, of course. We saw no evidence of a Maltese Redhead, clearly Matt is just trying to make money selling books, or something) Still, talking about redheads leads inevitably to the topic of redshift, so we go over the whole problem of Doppler and redshift in cosmology, and how it is fundamental to mainstream science's picture of the universe.
Ep 39Episode #039: Henge Building and Cometary Cataclysms
EWe've started The Great Texinian Astronomical Hill Henge Project (Stone, Allen, Allen, et al) in which we propose to construct an astronomical observatory in the tradition of the great henges of Eld(Stonehenge, Adam's Calendar, etc). Like those venerable projects, we propose to start small, with a single central stake, about $2000 worth of calibrated optics, $120,000 worth of heavy equipment, 3 dogs, 2 wooden posts, several pencils, and a laser. You know. Gotta keep it simple to start. We detail the difficulties we've yet to encounter but know are ahead of us, based on past experience. On the whole, we think the project will give us a much clearer perspective on the difficulties the ancients needed to overcome in order to construct their fantastic stone circles and henges. It will allow us to communicate this knowledge to all of you in a much more concise fashion, so that all of you will have a greater understanding of why it's really fucking hard to build these things. We talk about the astronaut who returned to earth after nearly a year in space, two inches taller, smarter, with newly activated "space" genes, an increased life span due to an inexplicably higher telomere count, and a large genetic drift from his identical twin brother who stayed earthside while his bro was evolving in space. We also discuss the newest research papers released by the Comet Research Group re: the Younger Dryas Impact Hypothesis, some responses and rebuttals, and how a totally innocent cow was framed for the enormous Great Chicago Fire.
Ep 38Episode #038: Spaceship Moonship
EWe start out this show with a series of very strange moon mysteries with lots of terrible analogies by Kyle, and end up skipping the first break, and by the end of the hour we've basically proved the moon is a giant ancient spaceship. From there we move on to a discussion of sacred geometry and metrology, and the difference between the Imperial and Metric systems and their relative utility in different circumstances. In the final segment, we talk about people who seemingly appear out of nowhere, which leads to timeslips and the Mandela Effect and glitches in the Matrix and mass disappearances like Malaysian Airlines Flight 370 and Roanoke, and how all these things could be connected.
Ep 37Episode #037: We're Not Saying it was Aliens, but....
EWe kick this episode off with some choice soundbites from a major UFO event that occurred over the west coast on October 25th, 2017. Thanks to the hard work of some intrepid reporters who submitted FOIA requests to the FAA for all relevant material, we have access to recordings of the conversations between Seattle air traffic control and pilots who were observing the object, phone conversations between FAA officials and ATC and the military, and follow-up phone calls between FAA and the pilots who witnessed the object. This leads to a discussion about the UFO phenomena in general, and whether this is a spiritual/consciousness related phenomena or physical biological entities operating "nuts and bolts" craft from some other solar system... or perhaps a bit of both. From there we go on to discuss UFO-like sightings in the ancient past, how such events seem to have been playing a major part in all of human history, shaping our religions, our philosophies, our vision of the universe. After that heady discussion, we segue into a talk about strange earth anomalies, bowls of fused silica glass in the middle eastern desert, bowls in the surface of the ocean, and how most of these anomalies can be solved (or caused) simply by exploding a nuclear weapon over them.
Ep 36Episode #036: Turtles All the Way Down
EIn this episode we begin by discussing the recent developments in Mexico and Guatemala, where evidence of ruins of enormous urban areas have been discovered associated with known sites. Basically, nerds showed up with helicopters and lasers and demonstrated how to do archaeology in the 21st century. We also discuss a fascinating submerged cave system in Mexico that has been underwater since the end of the ice age, which was found to contain bones of pliestocene animals, human bones and artifacts, wall carvings and stone staircases and altars. Of course the constructions are attributed to the Mayans who were in this area around 900AD, which is a tad late considering the cave has been submerged for the past 10k years or so. We talk about the odd association with gods and turtles in mythology all over the world, and how there is evidence suggesting these turtles actually represent some sort of mechanical vehicle piloted by a member of an advanced civilization(alien or not), and whether these vehicles could have been utilizing some form of mercury vortex engine, as is implied by the myths.
Ep 35Episode #035: Is This Thing On Yet
EThis episode kicks off with Russ asking "Are we recording?" clearly demonstrating the extremely high level of professionalism and broadcast skills he has acquired while recording 30+ episodes of Snakebros gold. Having done that, we move on to discuss the recent news of the mysterious booms in Colorado, a selection of Snakebros Favorite Out of Place Artifacts, a couple of very interesting anomalous ancient sites in China, and how people who can listen to jazz with the fillings in their teeth prove that we destroy buildings with small kinetic oscillators.
Ep 34Episode #034: Assholes Make the World a Better Place?
EWe kick this episode off with some current news items, like the LiDAR survey in Guatemala around Mayan ruins, the possible detection of extragalactic exoplanets, and the complete falsification of anthropogenic global warming by world-reknowned, internationally acclaimed, nobel prize-winning physicist Richard Feynman, using physics. Kyle then destroys the dreams of millions of people who have been trying to raise their vibrations and make the world a better place through meditation, when he reads an article about scientists who proved that meditation doesn't work by demonstrating that assholes who meditate are still assholes. He then renews their dreams by pointing out that, since life can be shit sometimes, having assholes around to deal with it is a good thing, so removal of all assholes would leave the rest of us to deal with the shit, which is no one's idea of a better world. In the second hour, Russ reads from Ivan T. Sanderson's book Pursuing the Unexplained about coincidence and how, as a phenomena, it is not understood and therefore cannot legitimately be used as an explanation for other things we don't under stand. Also, rain dances are real, clouds can be busted with merely a few minutes concentration and an intense stare, and lots of weird shit rains out of the sky on a regular basis(further reinforcing the need for assholes, to deal with this sky shit). So get out there and be an asshole, make the world a better place.
Ep 33Episode #033: Manuscript 512 and Global Cataclysm
EEpisode 33! For this esoteric and mysterious episode we return to a subject which many of you expressed interest in and wanted to know more about: Manuscript 512, that fascinating and incredibly frustrating document of the discovery of an ancient, abandoned city deep in the highlands of Brazil and the Amazonian jungle, where the descriptions of all the best pyramids have been eaten by a worm(who was later nominated for, and subsequently won, the 20th Century's Most Annoying Lifeform Ever award as well as the prestigious Most Successful Destruction of Priceless Knowlwedge Since Alexandria Burned award). We also discuss deep ocean impacts causing 20,000ft high tidal waves, whale fossils found high in mountains, marine animals trapped in freshwater lakes at 11,000ft above sea level, anomalous fossilized homo sapien footprints in deep geological strata, and give a much more detailed look at the travesty to archaeology and egyptology that was the entire episode with the shafts and the doors and Hawass and the National Geogaphic channel. Enjoy! (and be incredibly irritated) The Manuscript. Material missing due to worm infestation on upper right, which once contained all the best pyramids Above are all examples of the odd script described several times in the Manuscript. Anyone recognize any of these symbols? Enochian, perhaps? Gantenbrink's Door Clearly, The Falcon does not give af. And lastly, for those of you who think it can't or won't happen to you: A Fossilized Snakebro Keep your ears to the ground and your eyes on the skies people.
Ep 32Episode #032: More Bermuda Triangle, Electromagnetism, and Radio
EIn this episode we got started really late due to some technical difficulties, so our conversations tend to meander a bit more than usual, and there are more than the usual number of bad puns and dad jokes. (We have determined that the number of puns and dad jokes is closely proportional to the number of hours it has been since we last slept.) Nevertheless we have some good conversations about the Bermuda Triangle mysteries(as Russ reads more from Into the Bermuda Triangle by Gian Quasar), Nikola Tesla, electromagnetism and radio, skerptards skerpderping everything and swarming wikipedia articles, undocumented meteorites endangering the whole planet due to the government shutdown, and setting fire to flat earthers. A photo of the elevated TangentCube Studio monitor, which we use to display pertinent data during the show, as well as Brett's corrective/helpful/fact checking commentary. Shown here with the new Segment Time popup window
Ep 31Episode #031: Dyslexia, Sleep Triangles and the Bermuda Paralysis
EIn this very special unplugged episode we dyslexia discuss. Kyle had a very dyslexia slight when he was younger, and he continues to experience it today under very conditions specific. We talk about what could possibly be causing it, and Kyle gives an interesting description of feels it how to experience inside dyslexia. We briefly touch on how someone can come close to touching you and you'll feel like they are touching you even though they totally aren't touching you, and how this sensation is similar to the "opressing" sensation people sometimes experience during sleep paralysis(which is probably because incredibly opressive demons are standing there totally not touching you). Pressing on, we bring up the impressive story of the San Pedro mummy, and how Russ saw something in the traveling museum exhibit "Mummys of the World" that looked a lot like the now missing Pedro. Kyle didn't remember this at all, but after pressing him on the subject, he confirmed that true it was. For the last few segments we go through some great pullquotes from the book Into the Bermuda Triangle by Gian Quasar, which leads into some great discussion on electromagnetic fields and cryptography and crop circles. Show the enjoy!
Ep 30Episode #030: Jeremy Figgins
EEpisode 30 is a fantastic interview with a scholar of all things strange, credentialed ancient historian, Fortean initiate, and most importantly a dedicated Snakebros listener, mister Jeremy Figgins. The official show observer Brett England joins us for the interview, throughout which we discuss....well, just about everything, and Jeremy gives us his unique insight on many classic Snakebro topics. Give it a listen, you won't be disappointed.
