Five years after 16-year-old Heather West went missing, a chance remark by one of her younger siblings would begin a chain of events that would uncover one of the most famous serial crimes in the world, the case of Fred and Rose West.
When social services heard the family joke about Heather being buried under the patio, alarm bells went off which after investigation revealed that there had been no trace of Heather West for five years since she had apparently taken a job at a holiday camp back in 1987.
During excavation, investigators discovered the true horror of what had been going on at number 25 Cromwell Street, when in the full glare of the worlds Press, body after body was uncovered.
