Jill Dando

Back in 1999 Jill was a firm TV favourite appearing on many high profile BBC programmes, but most notably as one of the presenters of Crimewatch. The country was in shock when, on the morning of the 26th April 1999 the news came through that Jill had been shot dead on her doorstep. Having no leads the police did a re-enactment the following week on Crimewatch and after a year a man called Barry George was arrested and sent to prison for the murder. Danielle Jones

On the morning of the 18th of June 2001, 15-year-old Danielle Jones left her house in Essex to go to school and never returned. After an extensive investigation all evidence pointed at one man - Dannielle's uncle, Stuart Campbell. He was eventually convicted of her murder and even to this day withholds the vital piece of information that would bring some peace to her family - where he left Danielle's body. Carrie and Lauren take a deep dive into this heart-breaking case and ask - should anyone ever be considered for parole when they still deny the crime and refuse to divulge where the body of their victim is? And just how effective is Helen's Law?Support the show! For one time support Buy Me a Coffee:Blue Murder ClubLink to all things Blue Murder Club including all of the Socials - We look forward to hearing what you think about usbluemurderclub | Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok | LinktreeEvents:London 2026 | The Ultimate True Crime Event | CrimeCon UK- Get a tasty discount using our code BLUE and Crimecon even do a payment plan to spread the cost! S7 Ep 4S7 Ep .4 Ed Kemper - The Co-Ed Killer

This week's case is the infamous case of Edmund Kemper, the Co-Ed Killer.Brought to by your girls Carrie and Lozza, Ed Kemper was a serial killer who was convicted of murdering seven women and one girl between May 1972 and April 1973. However this wasn't Kemper's first murder spree as years earlier, at the age of just 15, Kemper had murdered his grandparents and sent to an adult psychiatric hospital where he honed his skills as a master manipulator, managing to get released on his 21st birthday. Believing Kemper was fully rehabilitated and no longer a danger to himself or others he was free to roam the streets of Santa Cruz, picking up hitch hikers, trying to push down the his homicidal feelings until one day it became too much. For almost a year he stalked and terrorised the area, especially the young female students of the nearby colleges. Who knows how long he would have got away with it if he hadn't of handed himself in to the police.Kemper is still alive today and has been studied by many law enforcement and psychiatric professionals, assisting with offender profiling for the FBI. We hope you enjoy our show and that we manage to bring some little known facts to this famous case.Source material for the research of this case include the excellent website Edmund Kemper Stories - Documenting the Co-Ed Killer caseAnd the superb documentary First Blood. Support the show!Blue Murder club 💙 | creating True crime podcast | PatreonFor one time support Buy Me a Coffee:Blue Murder ClubLink to all things Blue Murder Club including all of the Socials - We look forward to hearing what you think about usbluemurderclub | Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok | LinktreeEvents:CrimeCon London 2025 - Get a tasty discount using our code BLUE and Crimecon even do a payment plan to spread the cost!
