Ep 120Three BOLD off-season predictions, thoughts on MLB's playoff format, and more!

Though the playoff run ended very quicky, there's plenty to talk about in Blue Jays land. We took a look back at Toronto's two-game sweep to Seattle in the wild-card series with a different perspective now that the 111-win Los Angeles Dodgers and 101-win Atlanta Braves also got dropped in five-game sets. Does it matter that the higher-seeded teams are losing if it adds more drama and excitement? After that, we talked about off-season stuff, including whether Shohei Ohtani wants out of Anaheim, which Blue Jays could ink long-term contracts this winter, who the most realistic trade partners would be, and the arbitration projections MLBTR made for 13 players. We also made three bold predictions for the off-season that we'll be sticking to no matter what! Ep 119Dealing with heartbreak

What a strange movie that was. After getting dominated in Game 1 of the wild-card series by Luis Castillo, the Blue Jays appeared to be running away with Game 2 as they tagged Robbie Ray and had an 8-1 lead in the sixth inning. But things went totally sideways after that, as the Mariners pulled off an epic rally to win the game 10-9 and take the series in a sweep. We took a look back at the meltdown, where things went wrong, and why there's no single person to put the blame on. We then looked ahead to the off-season and whether the front office will be prepared to make a big move over the winter. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Ep 118It was never going to be easy!

Well, that's not how we wanted to kick things off!The hype at the Rogers Centre ahead of Game 1 of the wild-card series with the Mariners was incredibly high but Alek Manoah was tagged for three earned runs in the first inning. Luis Castillo, Seattle's big trade deadline addition, was dominant after that as the Mariners cruised to a 4-0 win. We talked about Manoah's tough debut, the bats that looked totally lifeless, and how the Blue Jays can come back with Robbie Ray and Logan Gilbert in line to pitch in Game 2 and 3. Ep 117Thoughts on the Mariners, wild-card weekend predictions, and more!

After that, we talked about who's primed for a big moment in these playoffs and we made predictions for the entirety of wild-card weekend. Hosted on Acast. Ep 116Digging into the Blue Jays' dominance of the Red Sox, the playoff roster, and more!

Another series with the Red Sox, another spanking from the Blue Jays.Toronto took care of business at home this weekend with a three-game sweep of Boston and things went their way in the out-of-town scoreboard, so home-field advantage in the wild-card round is looking likely. We looked back at the series against the Red Sox and how absurdly dominant the Blue Jays were against them all season. After that, we took a look at what the Blue Jays' playoff roster should look like and where players like Lourdes Gurriel and Santiago Espinal fit given how well Ramiel Tapia and Whit Merrifield are playing. Ep 115Aaron Judge's home run, Buck Martinez's rant, Merry Clinchmas, and more!

Just like last year, the Yankees rolled into Toronto for a key late-September series and took down the Blue Jays. But, unlike last year, it didn't really matter all too much, as the Blue Jays wound up clinching a playoff spot during their subsequent off-day when the Orioles lost to the Red Sox. It was a fittingly anticlimactic way for the 2022 Blue Jays to clinch! We took a look back at the Yankees series and talked about John Schneider's gutsy move to walk Aaron Judge and Vladdy's big walk-off hit shortly after. We also talked about Buck Martinez's rant about how the Blue Jays don't always show up to play and how we felt watching Judge hit home run No. 61. After that, we looked at how things are shaping up in the wild-card race with the season coming to a close. Ep 114A big weekend at The Trop, Alek Manoah lined up for Game 162, and more!

After dropping Thursday and Friday's games in Tampa, the Blue Jays came through with huge back-to-back wins on Saturday and Sunday to earn a much-needed split at The Trop. We talked about Jose Berrios' home and away splits and how he should be used come playoff time and Whit Merrifield being the dragon slayer at The Trop. We also talked about Alek Manoah's incredible start and whether the Blue Jays are right to line him up for Game 162.After that, we took a look around the American League, as the Yankees are poised to clinch the AL East in Toronto and the Seattle Mariners are doing what they can to keep the Baltimore Orioles in the race. Ep 113Bullpen issues, Nate Pearson time, drama in Tampa, and more!

It was another series that started off well but finished with a sour taste. The Blue Jays rolled into Philly and popped off with 18 runs in the first game and then blew a late lead in the second game to ultimately wild up with a split. We talked about the outburst from the bats, the meltdown from Julian Merryweather, whether or not it's time to bring up Nate Pearson, and the odd lousy luck Kevin Gausman has had this year. We also talked about whether we should be worried about Jordan Romano, who's now blown saves in back-to-back games for the first time in his big league career. After that, we took a look around the American League as both the Seattle Mariners and Tampa Bay Rays are going cold down the stretch. Ep 112Another series win over the Orioles, Mail Bag questions, and more!

The Blue Jays have taken care of business against Baltimore this month, winning five of seven games with the pesky Orioles. We took a look back at the weekend series with Baltimore, how their improvement is making the AL East even more crowded, and what we can expect from this budding rivalry moving forward. We also talked about the success the Blue Jays have had with bullpen games and how Raimel Tapia seems to have a knack for punching other teams in the gut. After that, we took some Mail Bag questions, including what a Game Seven World Series lineup would look like and if there should be any worry about Jordan Romano in the playoffs. Finally, we looked ahead to the upcoming two-gamer with the Philadelphia Phillies and the four-game set with the Tampa Bay Rays after that.  Hosted on Acast. Ep 109The Blue Jays reminded the Orioles that they're the Trash Birds

Nobody expected these games against the Baltimore Orioles this month to matter as much as they do, but here we are.The Blue Jays rolled into Baltimore with a two-and-a-half game lead over the Orioles in the Wild Card standings and extended it by taking three of four games in the series. We talked about Bo Bichette's September Redemption Tour, Vladdy's struggles with getting the ball in the air (what is it, 2019?!?), and the excellent pitching performance the team got from Alek Manoah. We also talked about Bryan Baker's beef with the Blue Jays. After that, we looked ahead to the team's three-game series with the Texas Rangers and how they can set themselves up for the five-game marathon series they'll have with the Tampa Bay Rays after that. Ep 108It wasn't pretty, but the Blue Jays got the job done against the Pirates

It was a little more stressful than you'd like for a series with the basement-dwelling Pirates, but the Blue Jays came into Pittsburgh and pulled off a sweep. We talked about Alek Manoah's excellent start on Friday night, Bo's putting together arguably the best at-bat we've seen from any Blue Jay this season in Saturday's win, and Jordan Romano coming through with a huge save on Sunday's afternoon. After that, we looked ahead at the upcoming series with the Orioles, which is far more anxiety-inducing than we expected it would be back in April. Ep 107The Dog Days of Summer are over

After an up-and-down month of August (well, months of April, May, June, July, and August, really), the Blue Jays are into September clinging to a playoff spot. We talked about the series with the Chicago Cubs, which featured some clutch home runs and excellent relief appearances, but also left a sour taste behind as the Blue Jays weren't able to sweep a weak opponent. After that, we talked about Ross Atkins and Mark Shapiro both doing media rounds during the week and why the timing is a little strange. We also talked about the rosters expanding to 28 in September and what that means for the team. Finally, we looked ahead to the three-game series in Pittsburgh this weekend and explained why we're feeling a wee bit nervous despite the fact the Pirates are very bad. Ep 106Ep. 106: A lifeless effort against the Angels, Marcus Stroman's return to Toronto, and more!

After winning six of seven on the road against the Yankees and Red Sox, the Blue Jays came home and got dominated in a three-game sweep by the Angels. That's not what you like to see!We looked back at this series and talked about how the Blue Jays can go from looking like a team ready to go on a run to suddenly putting up a lifeless effort against a basement team. Is this just some mid-season fatigue? Or does this team lack something needed to be successful? After that, we looked ahead at the three-game series with the Cubs, which will feature Marcus Stroman's first start in Toronto since he was traded back in 2019. Ep 103Ross Stripling's gem, Yusei Kikuchi to the bullpen, and more!

The vibes were very bad and suddenly they're good again. That's baseball, baby!It was doom and gloom as the Blue Jays looked completely lifeless in losing the first two games of their series with the Baltimore Orioles but an incredible start from Ross Stripling and a late-game explosion offensively resulted in a momentum-changing win. We talked about the Baltimore series, how the Orioles are becoming scary, how great Ross Stripling has been, the importance of George Springer to the lineup, and a whole bunch more. After that, we looked ahead to the upcoming four-game series with the struggling Yankees in New York. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Ep 102The rain saves the Blue Jays from a possible sweep in Baltimore

So much for all of those easy wins against the Trash Birds! The Blue Jays rolled into Baltimore this week and dropped two games to the Orioles. The first was the result of a poor Yusei Kikuchi start and then the second one was the rest of a late-game bullpen meltdown. The sweep was avoided as the skies opened up and the third game was postponed due to rain.In this episode of BJN Radio, we talked about the surprisingly good Orioles, Blue Jay Murder Ryan Mountcastle, potentially going with a six-man rotation once Ross Stripling is back from injury, and a whole bunch more! The Blue Jays are rolling with the trade deadline right around the corner. They just won three of four games against the Detroit Tigers, are 11-3 all told in the John Schneider era, and sit in the top wild-card spot in the American League. We looked back at the Detroit series and talked about why Yusei Kikuchi's strong start was so important and how good Matt Chapman has been since the team traveled to Oakland. After that, we welcomed Michael Bradburn of The Score to the show to talk about what's going to happen ahead of the trade deadline on Tuesday. Hosted on Acast. Ep 98A Split with St. Louis, which prospects are untouchable, and more!

This was a jam-packed episode of BJN Radio. We talked about the split with the St. Louis Cardinals, Jose Berrios finding his groove, Kevin Gausman and his terrible batted ball luck, and how the team is more aggressive on the bases with John Schneider managing. We also talked about Buck Martinez's return and why he's a Blue Jays Legend. After that, we looked at the trade rumours that have been floating around the team and debated whether or not the Blue Jays should be willing to move their top prospects this year. Ep 96The 2022 MLB Draft!

It was the Major League Baseball Draft this week so the Blue Jays added some new names to the prospect pool.I was joined by BK and Brennan Delaney to talk about the selections that the Blue Jays made and what their overall strategy was at this year's draft. It was an especially loaded draft for the Blue Jays as they had two compensatory selections from Marcus Semien and Robbie Ray leaving in free agency. After going through Toronto's top selections and some possible late-round gems, the three of us talked about the All-Star Game, what we'd move in a Juan Soto deal, and more! Ep 95The end of the Charlie Montoyo era

Charlie Montoyo is out as manager of the Toronto Blue Jays and John Schneider is in.The word after Montoyo got canned on Wednesday was that he had lost the room and that the players were frustrated by his upbeat, chill approach. We took a look at the situation, talked about whether it was right or not, and questioned why nothing about this rift in the room came out earlier. After that, we looked ahead to the upcoming four-game series with the Kansas City Royals, who will be without a whopping 10 players because they can't enter Canada. That also brought up another discussion about how the Blue Jays are at a disadvantage when it comes to acquiring players ahead of the trade deadline. Hosted on Acast. Ep 94Winless in Seattle

The All-Star break can't come soon enough. The Blue Jays rolled into Seattle after a disappointing series in Oakland and things got even worse, as the Mariners pulled off a four-game sweep. Toronto is now tied with Seattle for the final Wild Card spot in the American League while the Baltimore Orioles are suddenly right on the heels thanks to an eight-game winning streak. We talked about the mess that was the Seattle series, how the Blue Jays can pull themselves out of this funk, and whether the solution is to make Charlie Montoyo the sacrificial firing. The Blue Jays dropped their five-game series with the Rays and now they're off to the West Coast to play Oakland and Seattle. In this episode of BJN Radio, we took a look back at the Rays series, which started off with a great Yusei Kikuchi performance and finished with depth arms throwing batting practice. We then dove into a couple of rumours, as the Blue Jays are reportedly one of the teams in the mix for Kansas City's Andrew Benintendi while the Tigers are reportedly interested in Danny Jansen. Finally, we looked ahead to the series in Oakland against the A's, who are in last place in baseball, and we took a look at how the players who were traded for Matt Chapman back in March are doing. We also looked at the American League All-Star vote and why it's making Yankees fans so upset. After that, we looked ahead to the upcoming series with the Milwaukee Brewers and took a look back at the Rowdy Tellez trade that happened just over one year ago. Ep 86A feel-good win against the mighty Yankees, searching for bullpen help, and more!

It's amazing how quickly things can change in baseball. That really looked like it was going to be a completely miserable weekend as the Yankees were on their way to a three-game sweep in Toronto, but a grand slam and a three-run bomb completely changed everything.Rather than rolling into a road trip having been swept by a team that looks uncatchable in the standings, the Blue Jays now get to roll with the swagger of a team that pulled off the biggest comeback against the Yankees this season. We talked about the good vibes that came from Sunday's game and also touched on the unfortunate reality that the Yankees are incredibly good. We also looked at Jim Bowden's 125-player Trade Bait Board from The Athletic and speculated which arms could help the starting rotation and the bullpen. Finally, we took a look ahead to the upcoming series against the White Sox, a team the Blue Jays swept earlier this season. Ep 85The Trash Birds, an ode to Hyun Jin Ryu, Shohei Ohtani speculation, and more!

That's absolutely not how you'd like for a series with the Baltimore Orioles to go.We had this week circled on the calendar for quite some time as the Trash Birds came to town for the first time this season but the Orioles put up a good fight and wound up taking two of four. Next up, we have the New York Yankees, who are on pace to win 121 games this season. Fun stuff! On this episode of BJN Radio, we talked about Hyun Jin Ryu's career as a Blue Jay possibly being over, who the team could look to acquire before the trade deadline, and whether a Shohei Ohtani trade is possible. Ep 84Gabriel Moreno's debut, praise for Ross Stripling, and more!

The Blue Jays' quest through the Central Division has come to an end. With a two-of-three series win in Detroit, the Blue Jays went 8-5 against the White Sox, Twins, Royals, and Tigers. We talked about Gabriel Moreno's big league debut and how a three-man catcher tandem might work if he plays too well to be sent down. We also talked about the excellent pitching the team has been getting from Ross Stripling while Hyun Jin Ryu is injured. After that, we looked ahead to the first meeting of the season with the Trash Birds, who, unfortunately, are better this year than they have been in recent years. Ep 83How the Royals have fallen off a cliff since 2015, when we can expect Gabriel Moreno, and more!

That looked like it was going to be an all-time spanking but then, since it's Kansas City, things went a little goofy. The Blue Jays won their first two games of the series by scores of 8-0 and 7-0 and then came out with a chance to sweep and laid an egg. Yusei Kikuchi got rocked and couldn't get out of the first inning and the bullpen has a tough time with the mess. Two out of three ain't bad but it's hard to be all too thrilled with anything less than a sweep of arguably the worst team in baseball. With Tyler away, me and BK talked about the Royals series and how they've fallen off a cliff since 2015. That led us into a random tangent about prospects that were traded away and a 2019 draft do-over. We also talked about when Gabriel Moreno will get called up and if we might see him join the team in Detroit. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Ep 83Jose Berrios' gem, the return of The Juiced Ball, Alejandro Kirk for the All-Star Game, and more!

The Blue Jays' eight-game winning streak came to an end this weekend as the Minnesota Twins rolled into town and took two of three. We talked about Kevin Gausman tipping his pitches, what Jose Berrios did differently in his gem, and some issues with the non-leverage guys in the bullpen. We also took a look at an interesting thread that indicates that the juiced ball might be back, which would help explain why the pitching has started to get a bit more rocky right as the bats have woken up. Also, with All-Star Game voting right around the corner, we took a look at who could represent the Blue Jays at Dodger Stadium. We campaigned for Alejandro Kirk, who's cementing himself as one of the best catchers in baseball. Finally, we took a look ahead at the upcoming three-game series in Kansas City, a place with terrible vibes. Ep 81Let's go streaking!

The Blue Jays are on an eight-game winning streak! After winning four in Anaheim, the Blue Jays returned to Toronto and took three of three from the struggling Chicago White Sox. Next up, another struggling team, the Minnesota Twins, and some more junk from the Central Division. We recapped the series with the Sox and talked about how much more entertaining it is to watch this version of the team that can hit everything as opposed to the previous version of the team that couldn't hit at all. We also agreed that we'd take an early 2015/2021 style team that scores runs and blows leads over the limp bat team that can pitch. After that, we took a look ahead to the upcoming series with the Twins, who are coming into Toronto shorthanded as four players are on the Restricted List and a few other key names are on the Injured List. Ep 80Ep. 80: A four-game sweep? On the West Coast?!?

What a ride. The Blue Jays traveled out west and brought their bats with them, as they scored 27 runs over the course of a four-game sweep over the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. In this episode of BJN Radio, we took a look through that rollercoaster of a series in which the Blue Jays started to look a lot like the 2021 Blue Jays, a team that'll blow a lead but then grab it right back. We talked about the batters that are heating up, the team's great problem behind the plate, and some stellar performances out of the bullpen. We also talked about Jose Berrios' difficult outing and some unnecessary hate that's been thrown at Charlie Montoyo. Finally, we looked ahead to the upcoming series with the Chicago White Sox, a team with high expectations that hasn't yet found its groove. Hosted on Acast. Ep 79Ep. 79: Charlie's blunder, the arrival of the bats, a prospect update, and more!

The bats! They've arrived, it seems! After a wildly frustrating loss on Monday in St. Louis, the Blue Jays' bats finally exploded the following day with an eight-run showing against the Cardinals. We talked about Charlie Montoyo's odd bullpen decision from the loss, and also the excellent starts from Jose Berrios and Kevin Gausman. We also looked into why the offense was so much better in this series than it has been over the past few weeks. After that, we took a look at how some prospects are doing down in Triple-A and who might be able to help the Blue Jays in the coming weeks. Finally, we took a look ahead at the weekend series with the Los Angeles California Angels of Anaheim in Los Angeles. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Ep 78Ep. 78: The 2016 team comparison, Joey Votto's successful finale in Toronto, and more!

It was another series win that left a sour aftertaste. As they did with Seattle, the Blue Jays took the first two games against a weak opponent and then came up short with a chance to pull off a sweep. In the post-Reds series episode of BJN Radio, we gave praise to Hyun Hin Ryu for another good start, questioned whether it was right for Charlie Montoyo to not give Alek Manoah the ninth inning, and looked at Bo Bichette's low-key hot streak in the month of May. We also talked about the handful of guys who aren't hitting and wondered how long such cold streaks can possibly continue. We also talked about Joey Votto playing likely his last game in Toronto, barring a trade, and talked about whether we root for Canadian players when they go up against the Blue Jays. Hosted on Acast. Ep 77Ep. 77: Blue Jays beat Mariners despite quiet bats, digging into the Juan Soto stuff, and more!

The Blue Jays have finally won their first series of the month of May! Despite taking two of three from the scuffling Seattle Mariners, this series felt a little limp because the bats went completely silent on Wednesday when the Blue Jays had a chance to sweep. We talked about the good stuff from the Seattle series, such as Yusei Kikuchi clowning his old team and Jose Berrios weaving through seven scoreless frames, and also the bad stuff, such as the worrying injury to Tim Mayza and the fact the bats are still in January. We also talked about the speculation from Buster Olney that Juan Soto could be moved and whether that makes any sense at all. Finally, we looked ahead to a series against the Cincinnati Reds who feature a handful of Blue Jays' castoffs. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Ep 76Ep. 76: The bats remained silent at The Trop, let's hope they wake up for the Mariners

As you'd expect, facing the Rays at The Trop wasn't the remedy that the Blue Jays needed. Toronto dropped two of three in Tampa as the bats yet again remained completely silent. They've now dropped four series in a row since the end of April and have an 18-17 record on the season. We recapped the series against Tampa and talked about George Springer bashing into the outfield ball, Matt Chapman's struggles at the plate and with the glove, and the fact that the team's approach at the plate seems completely lost. We also looked at some positives from the series, such as Hyun Jin Ryu and Danny Jansen doing well in their returns. After that, we looked ahead at the upcoming series against the Seattle Mariners, which won't feature old friend Robbie Ray. The Mariners have also been ice cold over the past few weeks, so hopefully, this can be the beginning of a turnaround for the Blue Jays. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Ep 75Ep. 75: Ranting about the umps, ranting about the bats, ranting about Yankee Stadium, and more!

Take me back to April! May has been awful!!! After not dropping a single series in April, the Blue Jays have now dropped back-to-back-to-back series in May, as they were swept in a little two-game set in New York. In this episode of BJN Radio, we talked about the Bad Times In The Bronx, including Yimi Garcia inexplicably getting tossed after plunking Josh Donaldson in the first game, Jordan Romano's implosion in the ninth, and the overarching struggles of the bats to come up with clutch hits. We also fielded comments from the audience in which listeners sent us their biggest reasons for concern about this team and we replied with whether or not we're also worried about said things. In order to not be entirely doom and gloom, we talked about some good stuff, such as Bo Bichette possibly heating up at the plate and, randomly, Kevin Gausman being great. Finally, we looked ahead to the series in Tampa Bay, the last place a struggling team wants to be. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Ep 74Ep. 74: Looking at the 2022 Blue Jays after one month

It's been one month and the Blue Jays own a 17-13 record. Though that seems a little limp because of how they've been playing lately, when you consider the strength of schedule they've had, it's a pretty solid start. In this episode of BJN Radio, we did three up, three down for the first month of play. Kevin Gausman and Alek Manoah have both been aces thus far, the bullpen has helped the team steal a handful of games, and Santiago Espinal looks like a legit player. On the flip side, the bats have been much worse than expected as multiple players are ice cold at the same time and Jose Berrios has some worrying underlying numbers early on. We then looked ahead at a very important stretch the Blue Jays have coming up, as they head to New York for two against the Yankees and then they go down to The Trop for three with the Rays. Ep 73Ep. 73: Yusei Kikuchi's best start as a Blue Jay salvages a difficult series against the Yankees

For the first time all season, the Blue Jays have lost a series. The Yankees rolled into town on a nine-game heater and proved, well, why they're on a nine-game heater. New York took the first two games of the series with ridiculously effective pitching and some clutch hitting and then the Blue Jays edged out a win in the finale to save themselves from the sweep. Me and BK talked about why the bats are struggling, whether or not adding Teoscar Hernandez will be the shot of life the bats need, and what Yusei Kikuchi did differently in the best start of his season. We also talked about the possibility of Josh Bell becoming a Blue Jay and looked ahead to the four-game series coming up in Cleveland. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Ep 72Ep. 72: Picking the Blue Jays' MVP for April, taking a look around the American League East, and more!

That was certainly a much better April than the one we saw last year. The Blue Jays are 15-8 after their first month (though it was an abbreviated one) and they've managed to have all of this success despite some key injuries and the bats not being at their best. We took a look at the series win over the Houston Astros and talked about George Springer dominating his former team, Kevin Gausman's continued brilliance, and some optimism that Bo Bichette might soon turn a corner. After that, we talked about who Toronto's Most Valuable Player has been early on and then took a spin around the American League East and looked at how baseball's deepest division is doing so far. Finally, we previewed the upcoming series against the Yankees, who are riding a nine-game winning streak. While the Yankees are undoubtedly a good team, a lot of their success has come against weak opponents, so this series in Toronto will be a test for them. Hosted on Acast. Ep 71Ep. 71: Another series win against the Red Sox, praise for The Big Man, and more!

The Blue Jays just continue to win games! They won the first game of the series thanks to a Bo Bichette grand slam, an epic comeback highlighted by a George Springer Dinger highlighted the second game, and then, after getting spanked in the third game, Alek Manoah came out and tossed seven scoreless en route to a 1-0 victory. The bats might not be rolling just yet but the pitching certainly is! We talked on this episode of BJN Radio about the excellence of The Big Man, Alek Manoah, and how he's exceeded anybody's wildest expectations early in his career. We also talked about Gausman's insane start to his season, as he still hasn't walked a guy through his first four outings. We also talked about the struggling offence, if there's any reason to panic, and how the ball seems to be different this year than in previous years. Finally, we looked ahead to another series with the Houston Astros this weekend, in which we avoid the possibility of a third Justin Verlander no-hitter in Toronto. Hosted on Acast. Ep 70Ep. 70: Blue Jays down Astros, getting on the Zack Collins hype train, Jordan Romano's workload, and more!

Another series, another win for the Blue Jays. To be honest, it really felt like this was a win-one-and-get-out operation, but the Blue Jays rolled into Houston and took two of three from the Astros, an impressive result given the difficulties they've had facing this team in the past. We recapped all of the good and bad stuff from the series in Houston and then looked ahead to the four-gamer back in Toronto against the Boston Red Sox. We also talked about the possibility that Zack Collins is legit, the struggles of Cavan Biggio and what to do with him, Jordan Romano's save streak coming to an end, and a whole bunch more. Ep 69Ep. 69: What a nice time! Kevin Gausman's masterclass, offence from the depth guys, and more!

It's a shame this episode didn't come one day earlier. The Blue Jays rolled into Boston this week and took two of three from the Red Sox, a big win considering this was a team that Toronto struggled with last season. Things started off poorly as an error from Bo Bichette late in the first game ultimately helped the Red Sox win a game in which Toronto's bats were completely limp. In the second game, the offence woke up thanks to some contributions from some unexpected sources. Finally, the third game featured a Kevin Gausman masterclass that nearly came unraveled in the ninth. We talked about all of the good stuff from this nice series and then looked ahead to the next series in Houston with the Astros. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
