Shannon’s journey began in 1987 with Kentucky Vehicle Enforcement (KVE), where he developed a deep understanding of commercial vehicles and the trucking industry. As an officer, he quickly became one of the top-producing interdiction officers in the agency, conducting high-impact criminal interdictions and making over 300 arrests of commercial vehicle drivers and occupants engaged in criminal activity. His cases have been affirmed and published at the state and federal levels, including by the Kentucky Supreme Court and the U.S. 6th Circuit Court of Appeals. His leadership helped DIAP training earn Federal Law Enforcement Training Accreditation (FLETA) in 2012 and 2014, setting a new standard for criminal interdiction education. In 2016, Shannon transitioned into a Senior Investigator role with FMCSA, where he played a pivotal role in uncovering and prosecuting an identity theft and broker fraud scheme that defrauded victims of over $1.1 million. It’s time we give ourselves the credit we deserve and confidently explore what lies beyond the barrel. Today’s guest is Heather Glogolich. Heather started her law enforcement career in 2004. She is presently a lieutenant in a municipal police agency in the State of New Jersey and she is assigned to the patrol division. In her present assignment, Lieutenant Glogolich is a Patrol Supervisor with collateral duties that include overseeing the Community Policing Unit and serving as the agency’s Domestic Violence Liaison, Internship Coordinator, and LGBTQ+ Liaison. During the course of her career, she has been assigned to a multitude of diverse assignments including patrol, school resource officer, traffic safety officer, and has performed the role of field training officer. Additionally, she currently is one of the Vice Presidents for New Jersey Women in Law Enforcement (NJWLE). Lt. Glogolich earned her Bachelor’s Degree from Caldwell University in Criminal Justice and then went on to earn dual Master’s Degrees from Fairleigh Dickinson University in Administrative Science and Homeland Security. She is currently attending Saint Elizabeth University as a doctoral student seeking her Ph.D. in Higher Education with a Servant Leadership focus. Lt. Glogolich also serves as an adjunct professor for the Criminal Justice Department at Saint Elizabeth University. In addition to her impressive resume filled with achievements and accolades, Heather Glogolich survived a harrowing domestic violence incident in 2008 at the hands of her ex-husband. Instead of allowing it to break her, she shares her story as a survivor through speaking presentations and victim advocacy. Physical violence isn’t the only form of domestic abuse. Stay alert to the early warning signs, as abuse can take many forms long before it becomes physical. Kenny steps back and lets Heather share her powerful story of survival after a near-fatal encounter with her ex-husband, who was a Law Enforcement Officer at the time. Despite the trauma, Heather continues to serve as an active, highly respected, and decorated Officer, admired by law enforcement around the world. Through her story, she hopes to inspire those feeling trapped in abusive relationships to find the strength to walk away, sparing them the pain she endured. Upon completion of United States Army Airborne School, he was stationed in Fort Bragg, Georgia, with the 82nd Airborne as an infantry paratrooper. Tyler deployed to Baghdad, Iraq, in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. He was promoted to sergeant in 2011 and was honorably discharged in 2012. From 2012 to 2015, Tyler served in the National Guard and earned a bachelor’s degree in homeland security and terrorism studies at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Florida. In 2016, he graduated from the Police Academy in Daytona Beach and has been a law enforcement officer in the Central Florida area ever since. Tyler is a certified field training officer and has served on the SWAT team and Street Crimes Unit. In 2021, he started Refractive Wolf Apparel, an American outdoor apparel line. In 2021, Tyler created Anti-Hero Broadcast, which focuses on finding the truth, outing toxic government leadership, and combating the wave of political correctness plaguing the military and first responder community. In 2023, he founded Shell Shock, an annual PTSD charity and awareness concert in Orlando, Florida. All proceeds are donated to select nonprofit organizations that help warriors struggling with PTSD. In this episode with Tyler Hoover, Kenny and Mike sit down with Tyler to discuss the importance of work ethic, mindset, and unwavering commitment when pursuing your passions-whether within or outside of law enforcement. Tyler’s approach serves as a blueprint for any officer striving to do more but uncertain about the right path to follow. Tom Rizzo began his law enforcement career in December of 2001, as a Patrolman with the Middlesex Borough Police Department (NJ). In 2004, he was hired by a different department in (NJ), where he currently serves as the Investigations Division Commander at the rank of Captain. He formulated His Police Department’s first Criminal Suppression Unit, where he has participated in a variety of search warrant executions, intra/inter-agency collaborations, and take-downs of distributors. Tom Rizzo received a B.S. from the University of Central Florida in Criminal Justice, and an M.A. from Seton Hall University in Human Resource Training & Development. He graduated the NJSACOP Command & Leadership Academy in 2009 and was invited to return as an Instructor of Group Leadership Theories. He has been both a Police Academy and Department Instructor. He also has been an Adjunct Professor with New Jersey City University Schools of Management, Criminal Justice, and Professional Securities Studies since 2012, while also teaching for Rutgers School of Public Affairs & Administration (2018) and Fairleigh Dickinson University since (2019). In 2019, Tom Rizzo created and began instructing a course he built based upon leadership philosophies/resiliency/wellness/career fulfillment, titled, "Ivory Tower", which has been presented nationally in nearly every state. In 2021, he published his first book, Copikaze, based upon a series of lessons to help navigate a career in the field of law enforcement and to clarify some of the industry intricacies for civilians. He takes great pride in the constant pursuit of leading by example, while consistently being a student of human behavior. Today, Mike, Kenny and Tom discuss his story growing up, losing his mother and handling grief, why he chose a career in law enforcement effect if 9/11, the importance of supporting each other and dropping the animosity, lifting each other up instead of tearing each other down and unlocking and sharing the secrets to success and MUCH more.
