Yoshua Greenfield says at first it’s exciting then you start to feel like a caged animal. You have to break down who you are and who you think you are. After moving to Brooklyn to pursue a life as a musician and rock star Yoshua fell into a terrible depression, lost his way and began feeling as though life was empty and meaningless, even considered ending it all. Through a weird and wonderful twist of fate, he fell upon a series of teachings that showed him that he wasn’t crazy but rather starting to wake up to the true nature of reality. He saw that he wasn’t depressed, but was experiencing a deep inner state of rest (deep-rest), his soul desperately seeking a break from the character he had been playing. Having nearly no previous understanding of the “spiritual path,” and only a desire to burn all that was false to the ground, he began shedding all of the lies and conditioned belief holding him in fear and began to see what it meant to live life in tune with clarity and truth—in harmony with all. As life is often filled with surprises, the universe began pointing Yoshua in a rather interesting direction which led him to creating an alternative cooking show with his brother and getting signed to a major TV deal where he traveled the world and went on adventures cooking for celebrities. Excited by these new possibilities but feeling conflicted to be amongst a world of wealth and corporate greed, Yoshua began seeing the character he was creating to deal with it all and after seven years of garnering a success he had never dreamed of, he(metaphorically speaking) burnt the house down and was finally free of any perceived self and began focusing on the work he has been doing for the last many years—guiding others that have already woken up from the Matrix and supporting them to live life beyond fear. For the past ten years Yoshua has also studied the ancient art of sound healing and has been guiding people to unlock their innate musical gifts and experience music as a form of connection and vibrational healing. He hosts song circles as a way to bring about connection amongst fellow humans and has been creating improvised music with one of his favorite bands Yaima and has performed with them on a number of occasions. He also teaches people how to develop a clear and conscious relationship to the foods they consume and how mindful eating can support all areas of your life. He hasn’t worn shoes in three years and can’t get enough of telling people about the glorious benefits of living a more barefoot forward life. Yoshua has studied a variety of different healing practices and resonates mostly with Zen Buddhism and Non-Duality as he has seen how they can help anyone make sense of all aspects of life and live in the present, creating a life of your own design. Benoit Kim: Oh wow. You said, friends? Plural? Doesn't matter. Whatever's the juiciest. Reena: Juiciest are always who knows you better, right? Benoit: True. Yes, we'll start with friends. Speaking of memory lane. Reena: Yes. Okay, so let's go with Tony. How do you pronounce his last name? Is it Mena? Benoit: Mena. Yes. Reena: I was right. Okay, so Tony wanted to know, and I know you were recently on a Christian retreat, he wanted to know what motivates you to work for nonprofits or what motivates you to have a service-oriented career. Benoit: I love choosing the broke poor life, just kidding, but I think that we all have to choose our path in life and a lot of that is attributable to my parents' genetics. It's not necessarily cultivated. I think I had the privilege to exposure to six figure salary early on at age 21, 22, straight out of college into management consulting realm. I saw the rat race, I saw how miserable so many people were, and I remember this viscerally like yesterday where one of the partners, managing partners at Deloitte at the time, he was taking us out. He rented out the entire bar at Penn State for entrance to show us woo woos with that golden handcuffs. He got pretty drunk and I asked him a question, as I always do even before podcasting, that, "Hey, is that worth it? Is it worth making that $500,000, $600,000 salary plus vesting options?" He started being tearful. He straight up started crying. A grown-ass man in his 50s. He said that "I miss my firstborn. I didn't held him in the hospital. I wasn't with my wife. I missed my 10 year anniversary with my wife. I missed out on so many birthdays because the duty calls, and to get to that level comes with tremendous sacrifices." That story stuck with me, and then once I started to work as a management consultant I realized, "Wow, this is not the life I wanted." I always wanted to do something altruistic, even though I don't believe in altruism because there's always that feedback of feeling good, but I do believe in effective altruism, and I chose the path of nonprofit and giving back, and I always check myself. I'm not a savior. I'm not better than other people. Some people find money intrinsically incentivizing and they like money intrinsically. For me, intrinsically I like making impact and creating this legacy, and at the end of the day it's just a job and it's just a personal calling. Reena: When did you realize that? Benoit: The first few years in the nonprofit sector, I think I definitely had this extra chip on my shoulder that, "Oh look at me, I'm creating this impact. I'm parting t

Aradhana is 32 years old, born and raised in Southern California. She's a Clinical Social Worker by day and mental health/ lifestyle influencer by night. She struggles with Generalized Anxiety Disorder. She was raised in a strict South Asian household and because of that her anxiety was often disregarded as “being a cry baby or uninterested”. Her parents tried hard to mold her into the “Typical Indian Child”, however each time they did it would cause her Anxiety to worsen. It wasn’t until she got to college that she got any form of validation for her Anxiety. She started to take basic Psychology courses and learned about Anxiety and what it looked like. That was when she realized she struggled with a mental illness and that she wasn’t a “failure of an Indian”. She realized that a lot of her Anxiety came from the Desi Culture and the expectations that are placed on them. She went on to become a Social Worker in the hopes of shedding light on Mental Health in the South Asian community. That was how Aradhana’s World came about, she created this platform where she talks about the “Toxic Desi Culture” that so many of us have been raised in. She will be starting a podcast called Di NOT Aunty where she sheds light on different toxic traits from the Desi Community. I am the founder and CEO of Safe Resell. I was born in Nigeria and moved to the states (Minnesota) when I was 3 years old. I haven’t been back since then but have the desire to go back, however, it is costly and time is limited for me. I am married with 2 kids and live in Minneapolis MN. I have a 9-year-old son, who turns 10 in September from a previous relationship, and my wife and I have a 2-year-old daughter that thinks she is 14. I grew up in a northern suburb of Minneapolis called New Brighton, and lived there from 1st grade all the way until I graduated HS. I have an older brother who is the Co-Founder of Civic Eagle and recently raised a Series A round of $3,000,000. I also have a younger sister. My parents own a very successful home healthcare business in Minnesota as well, (my sister works for them). Growing up, I sucked at school (barely graduated honestly), was a rebel, fought damn near every day, drank on most non-game days, and dabbled into some drugs (marijuana and ecstasy). In HS, I was in track and football for 4 years, basketball for 3, and wrestling for 1. My personality was (and still is) unique. I didn’t take any shit from anyone, (literally, if someone stepped on my shoes accidentally and didn’t apologize, they got a fist to their jaw), but would also whoop anyone who was bullying someone. I hated bullies and was known for bullying the bullies. My brother was always the golden child, and I hated being compared to him, seriously, hated it. I don’t think using cuss words is a bad thing. Why the fuck does a word, that have real meaning (or slang) be considered bad? I say, fuck that shit, cuss all you want, just as long as it isn’t at me, and you understand potential consequences. The summer before I started HS, I attended a party, and that night, was the first time I drank alcohol, smoked weed, and had sex… I was 13 (my birthday is in August). I also have over 80 partners in my life. I stopped counting when I hit 81. My ex-wife was #69. I know because I started a competition with a friend in college…. We both loved fighting, had a unique upbringing and both our names starts with T and we were known as TNT because, we decided that if one of us wasn’t bringing a girl back with us, we were fighting. It got to the point where people would leave if we were at a party. People even called us for fi9ghting assistance or when they got jumped. One time, my friend got kicked out of a house party for flirting with the renter’s girlfriend, and him and I waited outside in the car until party was over, walked in, and beat up the 5-6 people that were there. Just us 2. Too much detail to get into about my life, but my life also includes, 1. Bringing a gun to school every day and no one knew except one person. 2. Plenty of fights during and after school 3. Plenty of times I cussed out teachers 4. Drinking during school 5. Being shot at/ having guns pointed at me a few times 6. Having mental health issues, unbeknownst to me at that time 7. Going to college for football and getting kicked out 8. Giving up football and college to pursue MMA because, I loved fighting, and can now do it every day in practice and scheduled fights, without getting in legal trouble. 9. Losing vision in my right eye from injury. 10. Moving to California, 8 days after thinking about the option with no place to live, no money, no friends, nothing. I slept on the beach/in my car, for the first 2 weeks I was there. 11. Moving to Houston with my ex-wife (the marriage lasted 9 months before splitting and 11 months before our divorce was finalized. 12. Getting robbed while trying to sell a phone, thus the idea of Safe Resell came about. 13. Bootstrapping SR while working full-time. 14. Completely tearing my ACL and cartilage in my knee, so now I’ll need a knee replacement 15. 3 suicide attempts (pills, gun to head, and car). The pills were just aspirin and gave me a badass stomachache and puke everywhere after I passed out for about 30 mins or so. The gun to my head, the safety was on and I didn’t the courage to try again. And the last attempt, I was in the car with the garage door closed and the car running, then I heard myself tell me to “get out, your son needs you”. The last attempt was in 2014 I believe, or 2015. Haven’t had those thoughts since, but I still have a daily battle with my mental health complexities. 16. Because of the judgment of “Christians” and churchgoers, I do not like going to church or being labeled a Christian. Most

Both born in 1922 during the Great Depression. Who helped shape her determination to help others and approach life with a mentality of seeking to understand. Andrea is an independent Talent Agent and Manager. That started in the most non conventional way. A prior career in Corporate America and once described as the “Connector”, helped catapult her into this exciting world. Fulfilling to say the least, though STEAM and assisting inner city children are her passion. She is on the Board of Directors for a STEAM Center in Marshall Fields, Chicago, Illinois. Started a STEAM initiative with Major League Soccer teams in various cities to raise money for children. Andrea loves volunteering her time feeding people with World Central Kitchen, spends Christmas morning with Cozy Connections in Seattle and is on the committee of Vote Early Day. Andrea has a deep love for traveling, music, reading, working out and a curiosity for life.
