Then Hosts Jeremy Schwartz, Jeremy Siegel and Liqian Ren interview Dr. Kevin Volpp from the Perelman School of Medicine to discuss the medical research being done to combat COVID-19. According to Dr. Volpp, there need to be more careful clinical studies conducted with real control groups to ensure potential treatments do not harm patients. He also notes that Penn Medicine is working on clinical trials, vaccine development, and a Google based chat bot that can be placed on health portals to help with predictive modeling.
