S3 Ep 26Autism Masking What Is It? - (What YOU NEED To Know)
This is what Autism masking is and everything YOU need to know about it! Autism masking is very interesting occurrence and it is a lot harder to spot it that you may think. Autism masking happens when a person on the autism spectrum is trying to put on a front a personality and play a character to hide the fact that they are struggling in the situation of the neuro typical world. Masking is actually one of the main causes that people on the autism spectrum mainly females do not get an autism diagnosis when they should. But knowing what I’m asking is and how to stop it can be a very useful thing to know when dealing with people on the autism spectrum. Males on the autism spectrum do display masking but I would say that it’s way more prominent in females than males. To learn more about this please check out my YouTube video on this topic. Please save this and share with anyone you think will benefit and follow @theaspieworld for more content.

S3 Ep 22YOU DON’T LOOK AUTISTIC!?
You Don’t Look Autistic!? Oh boy here we go! If I had a £1 for every time I heard someone tell me that I didn’t look autistic I would be a millionaire a long time ago. But why? Why do people say this to autistic individuals? It is just super rude! The answer lies in the education part of societies, as they are not aware of what autism actually is. Because we are presented with Hollywood movies like Rain Man and other autistic characters in film and TV who present only one type of autism traits it leaves out most of the other autistic individuals traits. This, combined with the wrong data publish older generation charities organisations and older (more less informed books) causes the average person to not really grasp or understand the full idea of what autism is. By creating videos, blogs, and other influence content on the internet we are able to make an impact in educating and informing people of the actual full picture of the autism spectrum. Would love to know your thoughts on this subject! Https://www.Patreon.com/theaspieworld

S3 Ep 24Is The Disney Float Autism Movie Good?
Here is my honest review of Disney’s Float Autism Movie Disney shorts. I did a review recently about Disney’s Loop autism movie and I totally loved it, Disney really nailed it on that short film. It then suggested another one to me called Float. Now Disney have made several movies called ‘shorts’ on their Disney+ platform and they seem to be fantastic. I watched the 9 min Disney Float film, about a father and his child who has the ability to float in mid air. This causes people to point and stair and judges and eventually segregate them from playing the the local park. It gets to a point where the father shouts ‘why cant you just be normal’ and the kid deflates and becomes super vulnerable. But the metaphorical story behind this simple yet effective film is that, this child is seem as ‘not normal’ because he has some ability that is different to the other children. this can be related to autism and other learning difficulties that makes children different to the typical child. In the end the father embraces the difference and realises the love that he shares for his child and the child is able to be happy and play where he wants in the park regardless of the stairs. I HIGHLY recommend watching this one! HASH TAGS: #0127 #Autism #ActuallyAutistic

S3 Ep 22Autism In Adults (5 Ways YOU Have Not Seen It)
This is autism in adults in a way you have not seen before. Autism spectrum disorder does not stop as you get older into adulthood become fully grown adults. In fact as you get older Autism gets actually more difficult and harder for people living independently without support or help. It isn’t always easy to spot Autism in adults, this is why I decided to create a list of five things that you probably wouldn’t really associate with autism that you can notice in people to see if they’re on the autism spectrum. Using this knowledge you can then go forward to help and support those people if they are presenting these specific characteristics of autism. 1 Lack Of Social Interaction An adult who is on the autism spectrum may not have the best social skills and when it comes to talking on the water cooler or any other social gathering they may not be able to interact as a typical person would. Not knowing the right things to say and having a lack of social conversation filter. 2 Reclusive Autistic person who is an adult may be reclusive and hold themselves back from joining social gatherings social events going to friends houses or work parties because these things are uncomfortable for them so you will not likely see them attending these things. 3 Obsessive Intense Interest People who are on the autism spectrum will usually have an interest that is honest excessive. But in adults this will become quite intense it could be gaming reading books or researching certain information about a certain topic. 4 Strict Clock Work Routine Autistic adults will always follow a very strict routine that they do like clockwork every day the same thing probably eating the same food doing the same tasks every day has a sense of normality and you could run this via your own watch. 5 Intense Emotions People who are autistic in adult hood are more likely to not be able to control any part of their emotions and therefore will show high degrees of intense emotions like extreme ups and extreme downs and have a lack of communicating their emotions and feelings to someone.

S3 Ep 19The Sia Autism Controversy: Kate Hudson Responds
This take a turn for the “are you kidding me?” When Kate Hudson joins the conversation. So the Sia movie that has gone viral for its controversy surrounding autism and some controversial scenes surrounding it is everywhere. I myself have done lots of discussions and videos on this topic and it is still ongoing. Open till this point there has only been Sia a self who has said anything about the movie and the backlash she is getting, the other actors have this far kept quiet. That is until now as Kate Hudson was asking about the controversy in an interview from an article published in the Independent where she states that she was unaware of any controversy surrounding the, and I quote “beautiful movie”. My thoughts on this and Kates inability to face facts and talk about it honestly is quite worrying, as Kate should have just been honest and said how she felt. Saying that she had not seen any controversy around it is a very outlandish lie since people like good morning America and CNN have covered this story, and she is in the movie. S3 Ep 17TOP 5 ASD Symptoms (YOU Should Know)
TOP 5 ASD Symptoms (YOU Should Know)

S3 Ep 18Is Disney Loop AUTISM FILM Any GOOD?
This is my honest review of the Disney loop autism film, and if it is any good! So this film is a short film as part of the Disney shorts on the Disney+ app that they released in 2019. The movie is a representation of a young boy and a young girl who is a non-verbal autistic girl out on a canoe on a lake. The story unfolds that the young girl in question Renée is in the canoe on her own and this young boy who is also needing to get out on the water in a canoe is late and has to take the canoe with Renée. He is aware Renée does not talk as she is a non-verbal autistic girl. This however blossoms into a very interesting and short affinity relationship. The film shows autism in a very interesting light, sharing stimming, sharing repetitive listening and non-verbal communication. The young boy has to learn very quickly how to communicate the needs of Renée in order to understand what’s going on. They do however come across a situation and she loses her cell phone which was her comfort stim and he has to avoid a meltdown. The music the style and the design and also the story of this film is absolutely beautiful and I think it is a great representation of a small window into the life of autistic individuals. Thing I love most about it is that this is about an autistic girl autistic female and it’s not often we see autism in girls represented in the media. Let me know if you’ve seen it and what your thoughts are in a comment down below.

S1 Ep 13Autism Treatment - (5 MOST Effective Ones For YOU)
These are most effective autism treatments options available to you right now. There are lots of awesome treatment plans available for people and it’s always down to the persons personal expectations and personal needs that to pick which ones they typically get. I would however recommend these autism treatment options because they are very helpful and I have had each one of them. Some of the options are quite old and typical of autism therapy but there is new and exciting options available and there’s more coming out all the time. Please let me know if you have any other options that you have heard of in a comment below 1 Counselling One-on-one counselling or group therapy is an excellent way to help with emotional issues and understanding emotions. 2 Physiological Intervention This is a good way to learn about yourself and have a greater understanding of your mental health and mental health capabilities. 3 Occupational Therapy This is a fantastic option for anyone needing help for specific areas like social communication or sensory processing disorder. 4 Sensory Therapy Using sensory rooms and sensory play is a really good way to help relax and calm the mind of someone with an autism spectrum condition, and the good thing is you can do this from your home if you buy the right things. 5 Acoustic Vibration Therapy Acoustic vibration therapy is a new type of soundwave relaxation therapy that has gotten lots of traction within the office and community and I did a video specifically on this and I will link it below.

S3 Ep 11Why Sia REALLY Apologised To The Autism Community
This is why Sia really apologised to the autism community for her movie Music about autism.

S3 Ep 14Female AUTISM Checklist (The Ultimate List YOU NEED!)
This is the ultimate checklist for seeing female autism characteristics in a person. Female autism can be difficult to identify sometimes because of the small but detailed differences with that if males on the spectrum. Here is a quick checklist to help you identify female autism traits in someone’s you can have your diary steps in understanding their condition. CHECKLIST ✔️ Lack Of Eye Contact ✔️ Difficulty Socialising ✔️ Introverted Personality But Outgoing In General ✔️ Obsessive Collector ✔️ Selective Mute ✔️ Masking To Meltdown ✔️Shy And Quiet

S3 Ep 10SIA Movie AUTISM Admitting She Was Wrong! (MY Thoughts)
So Sia has said sorry to the Autism community and also deleted her Twitter account after a series of unbelievable events. The Australian singer has become and a fire because of a movie called music that she had released featuring Maddie Ziegler as the main character in this movie the only caveat is the main character is an autistic girl. I did a video all about how not using an autistic person to play the artistic character was a bad move and also the way in which Sia went about researching and understanding autism for the movie was not acceptable and was really bad. In the video explain how Sia went off on people on her Twitter account calling people names and shutting people down who are just asking simple and justified questions about the process in which she was creating this movie. Needless to say there are some disturbing scenes in the movie and she has responded about the scenes and deleted a Twitter account because of the backlash she was getting from the community. At the very least she has apologised to the Autism community but I think there needs to be more done than that.

S3 Ep 8Let’s Talk ADHD In Girls (SUPER INTERESTING)
I spoke to my friend about ADHD in Girls and what it is like living day to day. It is Really interesting to actually come across somebody who is open enough to talk about ADHD and girls and all the ins and outs of daily life as a professional working in media. This is a fantastic insight and a good look at what life is like what it is like actually taking medication for ADHD and other ways of just looking at this from a new perspective rather than just looking at ADHD and males.

S3 Ep 8I AM LONELY (Autism Loneliness)
I have been feeling super lonely lately and, I’m not sure if I’m expecting too much from people? I had this realisation that I was very lonely. Now I know autism comes with loneliness as a feeling, due to many factors. But autism loneliness has been intensified by the covid pandemic and the lock down rules. I was talking with my girlfriend about this, and I feel i have friends that I can talk to over what’s app and FaceTime / zoom but, I don’t have a closeness with them to discuss things of personal matters. Then we realised I don’t have a friend In my life that I can talk to about things like this. But is it because I am asking too much of a friend? Or is it that I am not opening up enough to friends, and that in fact my friends would listen.

I spoke to Dr. Ali who helps with Aspergers Relationships with advice and tips. MY COURSE: https://learnautism.net/product/inside-autism/ Dr Ali Arena SLP BCBA Www.aliarenacommunications.com Ig: @connectingwithali Email: [email protected]

S3 Ep 4Autism And Changing Plans (Store Changing Shelves😓)
When the store change the layout around and the issues of autism and changing plans kicks in! One of the things that’s super difficult for people on the autism spectrum is dealing with changing plans and the idea of change in routine. Recently I visited a local supermarket where I live and I go there usually on a Sunday at the same time to get all the grocery shopping. This time they had change the store around and the layout was completely different which threw me so much. At first I kind of got a little bit angry, then I started to get very nervous and felt quite sick and also I felt like I was almost lost and a panic came over me. This is the effect of how a change in a plan for someone on the autism spectrum can create discomfort and issues. Let me know your thoughts if you’ve come across this type of issue before. #autismandchange #tipstomanagechanges #autismchangeinroutine

S3 Ep 6The National Autistic Society (WHAT TO THEY DO?)
Talking with Tom from the National Autistic Society about everything the charity is doing and has planned for the future of autism.

S3 Ep 6Am I Autistic Enough? (IMPOSTER SYNDROME)
Am I autistic enough? What are the insecurities of Autistc people with imposter syndrome. Get rid of password stress with NordPass. Read more at: https://nordpass.com/theaspieworld. There is a mind set that happens to lots of people on the autism spectrum who are of the lesser support needs level. The name is imposter syndrome. It happens because of the level of support needs in comparison to other people on the autism spectrum with higher support needs. Autistic people who can hold down a job and have a good speech pattern an a large language base often feel like they are not autistic enough compared to someone who is non-verbal to. This imposter syndrome also happens when people find out that you are autistic but they say things like “you don’t look autistic” or “you’d never know”. This type of thing makes you question your abilities and condition even though you are on the spectrum and have struggles and issues in life. Remember that autism is a spectrum and we are all individual on it, out level of support needs varies from one end to the other.

S3 Ep 5Why Aspergers In Girls Is Missed (3 Top Reasons)
Aspergers in girls is often missed and this is why!! Aspergers in girls is typically stuff is in males know this is down to a few common mistakes and reasons which I’ll go through. One of the most important things is that males are three times more likely to have an autism diagnosis of females Here are three main reasons why Aspergers and girls is less diagnosed with an aspergers in males release 1 Masking Masking is where a female will mask her characteristics and symptoms during the day so that she looks neuro typical totally throws a lot of diagnostic material off the scent and doesn’t really relate to a lot of people the full extent of the issues. 2 Misdiagnosis Probably the most common reason why females are not diagnosed Asperger’s syndrome as much as males is because there is a lot of misdiagnosis. The medical professionals will look to diagnose females with things like bipolar and other types of personality disorders before looking at autism. 3 Old Resources Probably the most important but less notable is the fact that most of the resources available to the medical industry are very old outdated and were based around male only characteristics of autism.

S3 Ep 3Fern Brady Autistic - (Famous Comedian With Autism)
Famous British comedian Fern Brady has official come out as being autistic. The comedian recently started talking openly about her being on the autism spectrum. This is fascinating and very positive to see, especially for young girls looking for inspiration. Autism is sometimes looked at being something that isn’t in girls which is not true. Also it is so refreshing to see more famous iconic and inspirational people being open about being on the autism spectrum.

S3 Ep 2The Reason I Jump Movie (Autistic Man First Look)
The reason i jump movie which will be released in 2021 from the book by the same name. This is the first look! As an Autistc man This is very exciting to see a book of this calibre turn into a movie about. From the get go this looks more like a documentary type of film which displays the story of the young man who has written the book the reason I jump but also shows different stories from other people who are on the spectrum and their struggles and issues. There is heavy focus on parents and what parents are trying to do in the struggle to help their children in their lives with autism. Ultimately I think that this film is going to be a good eye-opener for so many people because it has such an insight from there autistic persons point of view but also shows a lot of how the parents can sometimes struggle with these issues. I recommend checking out the trailer which is linked below in the description of my YouTube video and leave a comment about what you think.

S2 Ep 19Autism In Babies (Hearing Test Could Help Identify Autism)
Can a hearing test identify autism in babies? Find out right now. It is a known fact that auditory senses are experienced differently for autistic people to non-autistic people. So researchers at the university of Miami and Harvey’s Medical School explored responses to the standard hearing test administered to millions of newborns around the world. They suggest that they are close to a way to detect early indicators of autism in children even as early as at birth. Now this is a fascinating story and, an interesting way to test for autism. The research team analyzed nearly 140,000 auditory recordings from babies born in Florida and matched the data with records from the Florida Department of Education indicating children with developmental disabilities. This is such a futuristic approach to screening for autism, and could allow parents to access help quicker. If you have any comments to add please pop them down below in a comment. S2 Ep 18How Autism And Gaming Can Help People On The Spectrum
This is how games can help children with autism communicate and learn social skills. There is approximately 2 percent of the worlds population that are on the autism spectrum. This impacts the persons social and communication aspects of their life and can cause major difficulties. But the answers to helping these issues may lay in video games. The seminal child psychologist Piaget (1955), suggests that play behaviours allow for a child to engage with emerging cognitive skills. Pretend play, for instance, will enable children to learn concepts such as false belief, and more structured turn-taking board games teach reciprocity and strategy. Also, when a person is playing with another player in a competitive or cooperative game, the experience allows them to practice and develop a range of skills including communication, perspective-taking, emotional regulation, emotional recognition, and sportsmanship. Also, they are engaging in shared attention and joint action with other social agents, as all players are focused on the same activity and must mutually contribute to the completion of the game. A study suggests that, learning and playing games are a cornerstone in child development, allowing children to form independent relationships with one another. S2 Ep 16Holidays Can Be A Big Adjustment For (Autism And Christmas)
Holidays and Christmas are a big adjustment for children with autism. The COVID-19 pandemic and the holiday season may create increased stresses for children on the autism spectrum. Think about creating a visual calendar with what activities will happen when; clearly communicating the challenges the person with autism is facing to family and friends so things do not get worse; and a gradual decorating of the house. This time of year can be stressful for children with autism as it is, let alone a global pandemic. Change is a usual thing that happens at this time of year with Christmas and everything but due to the COVID-19 pandemic there are larger changes that are difficult for children with autism. Not seeing certain family members, or going to certain places may be super difficult for an autistic child to understand. They key is make plans and visual boards so your child can see what is happening when during this Christmas period.

S2 Ep 8How AUTISM Light Sensitivity IMPACTS (YOUR Life!)
So light sensitivity and Autism come hand-in-hand and I am discussing all that here right now. So Autism comes comotbidly diagnosed with sensory processing disorder. Currently there is no independent diagnosis of sensory processing disorder a person has to be on the autism spectrum to also have sensory processing disorder. Sensory processing disorder can interfere with the way the brain communicates its senses like lights sound smells and touch. This confusion can cause some interesting outcomes including hyper or hypo sensitive issues with these senses. being an autistic person myself I find that certain lights are triggering and can cause anxiety and stress when I’m around those lights. You see some lights flicker but the typical brain of a neurotypical person cannot see this flicker and a person with an autism spectrum disorder can see the flicker and this flicker annoys them. I outline a few hacks and tips I have that are use on a daily basis to overcome this triggering from certain light sensitivity for autism and light sensitivity.

S2 Ep 5Autism School | Do You Think It's A Good Thing?
Is an autism school better than a one to one in a mainstream school? I’m discussing all that and more. So autism schools are part of the SEN schools and special educational needs programs. The question that a lot of people have is what is best for your child is going to an autism school for a distich children better than having a one-to-one tutor in a mainstream school who understands autism spectrum disorder. There are varying levels of support needs of people on the autism spectrum you could have high or low support needs this to me he would justify the difference in what level of schooling your child in need. I think that all autism schools and one-to-one tutors are necessary and are both good but you have to define which one is needed at which time in your life. Every SEN school or autism school will try its best to have the student or pupil get to a level where they can access mainstream schooling in a mainstream school with additional support. So that being said I guess mainstream schools are the goal but autism schools are the bridge to get there and sometimes the schooling that the specific person with an autism spectrum condition actually needs at that time.

S2 Ep 4AUTISM Black And White Thinking (Emotions)
Autism and thinking in black-and-white comes hand-in-hand. Here, l discuss the issue with not being able to communicate emotions. People on the autism spectrum have a difficulty with connecting to and relating their emotional issues to the outside world. The thinking process of not being able to see the grey area in thought process and only seeing in black-and-white causes some distress and emotional distress at times. I for one have experienced this first-hand issue with not being able to communicate my emotions and only seeing in black or white. That being said I do believe that restricted thinking of emotional communication like thinking in only black-and-white can help with some critical decision-making and can be a good thing at certain times.
