I ask because I went to confession and the priest had a strong accent that made it hard to understand. Because of this, I didn't hear what I was supposed to do afterwards. I told my mother what happened, and she said that the confession didn't count, and that I had to return back to confession. I then told her no, because God has already forgiven my sins so there was no reason to do that. Who is in the right? Wouldn't that be effective enough? I'm trying to get baptized as a teenager. Is it possible to do it at home? I recently bought a Christian standard Bible-Holman edition not realizing it was not a Catholic Bible. I am a practicing Catholic and I would like to start reading the Bible more. This Bible is easy to read and I don't notice any differences in the words when I compare it to the Catholic Bible that I have. Is it wrong for me to read this Bible? I know about the missing books, but besides that, is it okay to read?
