Ep 230a2VV: HSHV Pet of the Week 3/12/26

Meet the HSHV Pet of the week at https://www.hshv.org/ Let's roll out the red carpet for this week’s royal guest from the Humane Society of Huron Valley: the stunning Cleopatra! Cleopatra is a fluffy, black-and-white beauty who is ready to rule your heart (and probably your favorite armchair). She’s an adaptable girl who is happy to meet the whole family, though she appreciates a little bit of patience and space while she settles into her new palace. This queen does have one special requirement for her royal court: she is Feline Leukemia (FeLV) positive. While that might sound a bit daunting, it simply means she needs to be your only cat or live with other FeLV+ feline friends. It isn’t contagious to humans or dogs—it just means she has a little extra "VIP" status and a lot of love to squeeze into her years. 💖 If you’re ready to provide the patient, loving home this regal lady deserves, reach out to HSHV! 📞 Call: (734) 662-5585 💻 Visit: www.hshv.org to fill out an adoption survey. All HSHV residents come spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. Come meet your new best friend today! 🐾 Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. Andromeda is a small adult kitty who has been through a bit of a cosmic storm. She arrived at the shelter with some facial wounds, but thanks to the team at HSHV, she’s all healed up and her fur is growing back nicely! (Think of it as her "warrior" look—she’s a survivor! ) She’s definitely more of a "chilled-out acoustic set" than a "stadium rock" kind of gal. Andromeda is quite shy and looking for a patient human who understands that the best bonds are built over time. Since she prefers the quieter side of life, a home without young children would be her absolute "Zen" space. Ready to give this brave girl the peaceful forever home she deserves? To meet her, call HSHV at (734) 662-5585 or head to hshv.org to fill out an adoption survey. Every pet at HSHV comes spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. Ep 219a2VV: Ann Arbor District Library 3/3/26

This episode: Scott & Rich talk about Elvis probably way too much. It's more than just books at aadl.org! AADL STUFF A rundown of some of the things we have at AADL that I don't get to every week: • Free online access to the New York Times and Wall Street Journal • Free printing service—30 pages per person per week, either in-person or you can send things ahead of time • We also have woodcarving, laser engraving, 3D printing, screen printing, heat press, calligraphy, letterpress, and sewing events at the library! • Exhibits! Multiple exhibit spaces throughout the Downtown Library, and a space at Malletts Creek. Currently on exhibit is The Art of Zingerman's: A Feast for Your Eyes (illustrations from Zingerman's over the years), Ann Arbor to Detroit (a digital exhibit on our lobby board from the Ann Arbor Camera Club showcasing some of their member's photos), and The Snowy Day (a walkthrough experience including a life-size papier mache sculpture of Peter, the main character of Ezra Jack Keats' The Snowy Day) - We also have a billion magazines at all our locations, from People and US Weekly, to Slam, Permaculture Magazine, Art in America, Chess Life Kids, Archaeology Magazine, and MAD magazine! MARIO DAY (Observed) Sunday, March 8 isn't March 10 (canonical Mario Day) but it's also not a Tuesday, giving us way more time to celebrate one of our top 8 favorite Nintendo characters at the Library! Ep 218a2VV: Horizon Performing Arts 3/3/26

horizonperformingarts.org/ Merrily We Roll Along Sondheim's semi-autobiographical musical turns back the clock on friendship and the high price of success. Merrily We Roll Along begins in the present and moves backwards, tracing the lives of wealthy, jaded composer, Franklin Shepard, and his two estranged friends through each milestone of their personal and professional lives (good and bad). The show ends with a touch of rueful irony, as the three best friends at the start of their careers face a bright future: young, talented and enthusiastic about the worlds waiting to be conquered. DATES: March 5, 6, 7, & 8, 2026LOCATION: Riverside Arts CenterTICKETS: $20 for regular admission and $18 for students/seniors. Tickets can be purchased at horizonpa.yapsody.com . Ep 122a2VV: HSHV Pet of the Week 2/26/26

Meet the HSHV Pet of the week at https://www.hshv.org/ Meet Wallace, our newest Pet of the Week! This little gentleman has had quite the journey. When he first arrived at the Humane Society of Huron Valley, he was feeling pretty rough—skin-and-bones and low on energy. But thanks to some serious TLC from the HSHV medical team, Wallace has officially transformed into a world-class "wiggle-butt." 🤭 In fact, he wiggles with so much enthusiasm that he occasionally has to sit down just to recalibrate! 🤣 While he’s putting the finishing touches on his recovery, he’s looking for a patient adopter to fall in love with him now so he can head home as soon as he gets the medical "all-clear."
