Rapp Report episode 188 Is Scripture eternal? Why does it matter? This episode starts a new series and provides an overview of why studying theology is important. Andrew and Bud look at the Striving for Eternity statement on What We Believe and they start the series with The Holy Scriptures. The Scripture is revealed from God and is the authority for the Christian for faith and practice. Many Christians do not study about the Scriptures and why we value them. They do not cover the full section but address the following paragraph: "The Bible is God’s special self-revelation, which is limited in space and time and are directed to various designated individuals (2 Peter 1:21). The accepted writings that make up the Bible are the 39 Old Testament books and 27 New Testament books without any of the additional writings commonly known as the Apocrypha. Rapp Report episode 186 Many Christians are living in fear with anxiety. Andrew the Bud discusses what it means to fear God and how to overcome fear and anxiety. The number of Christians living with anxiety is also rising at an alarming rate. According to a study conducted by the Anxiety and Depression Association of America (ADAA), 32.4% of Christians in America are living with anxiety, which is more than double what it was just ten years ago when only 16.8% suffered from such an ailment! In today's fast-paced society, many Christians are living in fear with anxiety. In a world where success is measured by an individual's ability to keep up and do more than they were able to the day before, it can be difficult for someone of any faith tradition not to feel overwhelmed at some point or another. The number of Christians suffering from anxiety has also been increasing alarmingly over recent years; one third say that their own stress level impacts how often they attend church services on Sundays as well as who goes out into the community. There is a significant number of Christians in this world who are living with fear and anxiety. If you're wondering if it's possible for someone to be both Christian and have these types of feelings, the answer is yes! Many people - including many Christians - live their lives feeling anxious because they don't feel like themselves anymore or that they're not doing enough for others. These fears can take over our minds so much until we’re physically sick from them; however, there are ways to heal your mind as well as strengthen yourself against future attacks on your mental health. The answer is providing in Scripture. Christ is the answer. This episode will help the listener to focus on eternity. Rapp Report Daily episode 185 In this episode, Andrew and Bud respond to some of the common arguments from liberal theology. The goal of liberal theology is to deconstruct the Bible using higher criticism and textual criticism. These are topics that are often taught in seminary and not in churches. However, it influences many churches because they do not understand the topics nor know the arguments against them. Two of the common arguments from liberal theology is the claimed source document of the gospels, Q, and the supposed authors of the first five books of the Bible with the JEPD theory. Liberal theology claims that there was a source document for the gospels, called 'Q'. They claim that Mark used Q to write his gospel and then Matthew and Luke used Q and Mark to embellish more. The argument is that though we do not have any evidence that Q ever existed we can conclude what Q was but looking at these passages that Matthew, Mark, and Luke have in common. However, the fact that liberal theology does not want to acknowledge is that there is no evidence that Q ever existed. It is assumed, which is a begging the question fallacy. The JEPD theory teaches that the first five books of the Bible were not written by Moses but by several authors. The goal of this is to discount the literal 24-hour 6-day creation by arguing that Genesis chapters one and two are written by two different authors. Liberal theology teaches that there was an author that used the name Jehovah and another that used the name Elohim. They claim that a third author wrote the book of Deuteronomy. The last set of authors was the priest that took these three writings and put them together into the five books of the Bible that we have today. Again the response is simple and the same, there is no evidence for this liberal theology and deconstruction. It is assumed. So, once again they are using the begging the question fallacy. Rapp Report episode 182 Andrew and Bud discuss the censorship of Facebook and Twitter for the Marxist administration. They go through the community standards for Facebook and the rules for Twitter and expose how they create arbitrary rules to allow them to censor content they do not like yet appeal to section 230 to say that the government cannot censor them. They want it both ways. Andrew lays out a detailed list with examples of the hypocrisy of these Big Tech giants and their censorship. This is another scary episode that exposes the government's overreach in targeting Christians. The government is working with Big Tech to spy on people illegally. As Christians, we need to know what is happening in society but that should not cause us to fear. Andrew provides a Christian response and a hope for a future at the end. Steve Ham is the pastor of Hyde Park Baptist Church and used to work for Answers in Genesis with his brother Ken Ham. We will answer the question of what is the church? Why is the local church important? Why is it important for a local pastor over some celebrity pastor on the radio or tv? How is it different from a social club? The church is the regenerate people of God. Therefore, it is for Christian, not the unbeliever, and the sermon would be different. The church is a gathering of God's people therefore we cannot be the church alone in our home's watching some preacher on tv. Pastor Ham left a large international ministry to serve as a local church pastor and explains why he did that, as he sees himself as a slave of Christ to serve God. Pastor Steve loves the church because he loves Christ. Steve gets into the differences between a well-known pastor on the radio versus your local pastors. Your pastor knows you and works all week on preparing a sermon for you. The preaching on the radio did not prepare a message for you but for their congregation. Rapp Report episode 180 Andrew and Bud are joined by Justin Peters to further talk about the continuing problems within the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC). They discuss more about Ed Litton's plagiarizing of D Greear. What should SBC churches do? They will talk about options. However, The convention has moved beyond what many think is possible to recover. The behavior and protection of Ed Litton, the new president of the SBC, exposes the rot of the SBC. It is far more than just the plagiarism issue. The SBC elite are woke and promoting social justice but not to the point of promoting a black man that is not in line with their social justice line of thinking. Justin makes a case to leave the Southern Baptist Convention. This would not be an easy decision but maybe a necessary one. The church needs to stand with integrity and though the SBC states, "the world is watching", they seem to have forgotten that when it comes to Ed Litton and his plagiarism. There is a call for Ed Litton to resign but some claim that would be wrong. In fact, some try to say that the way Litton's plagiarism was discovered was somehow wrong, but it was all public sermons. Rapp Report episode 179 This July 4th episode looks at counter terrorism and is not a pleasant one. The government has put out a new document to explain their strategy for countering what they call domestic terrorism. That sounds good, however, when we see how they define a domestic terrorist and how they plan to deal with it, Christians need to pay attention. This is the new government's goals to counter terrorism. Andrew and Bud take the time to walk through this strategy and show how it is a tool for Marxism and an attack on Christian in America. This episode is scary for the Christian but hope is provided at the end. It is a detailed plan to silence any who disagree with their Marxist agenda and call them terrorists by identifying them as white supremacists. This strategy ignores true terrorists and attacks patriots. They do not see the riots of the Black Lives Matter (BLM) as terrorism but the Trump rally on January 6th is the focus of terrorism. Rapp Report episode 178 Ed Litton, president of the Southern Baptist Convention, preached a sermon where he said, "In the Bible, sexual sin is whispered, compared to the shout God makes about greed and judgmentalism.” Andrew and Bud discuss the issue of homosexuality in the Bible and examine if God actually "whispers" about sin especially compared to other sins like greed and judgmentalism. The Bible is clear on its position about homosexuality, even if Ed Litton is not. The discussion focus on the issue that truth matter and theology matters but for Ed Litton of the SBC, it is that the narrative matters. The problem with Litton's sermon does not stop with that quote. It seems that much of Litton's sermon is directly from JD Greer, the previous president of the SBC. The role of a pastor is to study to preach the Word of God. If a pastor is getting his sermon from others then is he neglecting their primary role as a pastor? Did Litton use Greer's sermon, or could it be that neither of them wrote that sermon by pay for a sermon service? Election and Foreknowledge Rapp Report episode 168 This Rapp Report podcast episode is for those who want to be prepared for the coming persecution, a study of suffering for Christ--but in pursuit of joy. We live in a digital world and so many people are not aware of the dangers lurking around. This is the need to focus on cyber security. Cybercriminals do not care who they hurt or what they destroy as long as it is profitable for them! If the cybercriminal gets this information, he might be able to sell it on the black market where others can use these stolen items against you or worse yet - steal money directly from you by using your identity! Rapp Report episode 165 Have you ever wrestled with the question, "Can I lose my salvation?" If so, this is one episode that's worth another listen as Andrew and Bud discuss it. The question of whether or not you are "saved" is one that has been debated for centuries. Some believe it is possible to lose your salvation, others do not think so as long as you remain faithful throughout the rest of your life and repent when necessary, while some simply deny such a notion altogether but instead promote eternal security. The first thing to keep in mind is that the Bible never says you can lose your salvation. It does not say it cannot be lost, but rather there are no verses which state this as a possibility for those who have accepted Jesus Christ's sacrifice on their behalf and follow Him faithfully throughout life (and repent when necessary). To understand the answer to the question, one must understand the nature of salvation. In the Bible, salvation is a free gift of God's grace. It cannot be earned or lost but it can only come through faith in Jesus Christ who died on our behalf and rose again for us to have eternal life with Him (John 14:26). This means that we are saved by what He has done not because there was something inherently good about you that made this happen; rather your belief alone saves you from sin as well death itself! Rapp Report episode 140 Follow the Science Dr. Anthony Silvestro joins Andrew and Bud to discuss the topic of masks or face coverings. They talk about the science of wearing a mask and what it protects or not. The size of COVID droplets is much smaller than much of the other masks allow. The science shows that the holes in the mask are 1000 times larger than the COVID virus. In addition, our breath breaks down the mask in 15 minutes. The manufactures of masks have to list things that masks are not to be used for and they discuss that it clearly states that it will not protect against viruses. Is this Political? Why are so many states requiring face coverings? They discuss fear being used to push politics. The mandates are not for people to wear masks but for stores to be required to have a sign that requires masks. Many of the mandates require a not vented mask which is not to protect the person wearing the mask but others supposedly. When is Clean Really Clean? Do the process that stores use to disinfect and clean surfaces work? Dr. Silvestro explains why the method of straying a disinfectant and immediately wiping it off does not kill viruses on a surface. Therefore, the cleaning process does not actually disinfect the surface. Fear, Fear and More Fear The face coverings are being used to drive fear. Unbelievers fear death, but Christians should not fear death. The government has used the mask mandates to make millions of people to live in fear, which makes it easier to control a population of people. The science does not support the use of masks but the politics do. Anthony answers the question, does wearing a mask promote a lie? Does the Bible Have an Answer? There is a biblical perspective that is provided that is discussed. Is wearing a facemask loving your neighbor? Is not wearing a mask disobeying the government as stated in Romans 13? Does Christian liberty have a play in this issue? Churches should open and the men support the actions of John MacArthur.
