America's Roundtable with Dr. Ben Carson | "The Perilous Fight: Overcoming Our Culture's War on the American Family" | Reading of the U.S. Declaration of Independence
Join America's Roundtable radio co-hosts Natasha Srdoc and Joel Anand Samy with the Honorable Benjamin S. Carson, Sr. M.D., one of America's principled leaders and a great patriot. The program begins with the words — "the perilous fight" penned by Francis Scott Key in the midst of a most difficult and pivotal moment in our nation's history when twenty British ships bombarded Fort McHenry from the Baltimore Harbor. It was on the morning of September 14, 1814 that Francis Scott Key wrote about the ramparts, and the land of the free and the home of the brave which inspired a nation and became a rallying victory call. Our conversation highlights Dr. Ben Carson's new book "The Perilous Fight: Overcoming Our Culture's War on the American Family." “The perilous fight—those words arrest my attention whenever I place my right hand over my heart and face the flag at the playing of our national anthem. They are a reminder that America was born in a crucible of fire. Freedom was not given freely but had to be fought for and defended.” ~ Dr. Ben Carson Biography | Dr. Ben Carson In 1973, Ben Carson graduated from Yale University. He went on to receive his M.D. from the University of Michigan Medical School. At the age of 33, Dr. Carson became the chief of pediatric neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital, making him the youngest major division director in the hospital’s history. This would be among an extensive list of outstanding firsts for Dr. Carson. Dr. Carson’s accomplishments have earned him a place in medical history. He performed the first and only successful separation of craniopagus (Siamese) twins joined at the back of the head in 1987. He also performed the first fully successful separation of type-2 vertical craniopagus twins in 1997 in South Africa. In his career, Dr. Carson became a professor of neurosurgery, oncology, plastic surgery, and pediatrics at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, and directed pediatric neurosurgery at the Johns Hopkins Children’s Center for over 29 years. In 2016, Dr. Carson accepted the position of Secretary of Housing and Urban Development under the Trump administration. After completing his tenure as the 17th Secretary of the Department of Housing and Urban Development in 2021, Dr. Carson founded the American Cornerstone Institute. This organization is focused on fighting for the principles that have guided him through life and that make this country great: faith, liberty, community and life. Dr. Carson and his wife, Candy Carson, co-founded the Carson Scholars Fund, which recognizes young people of all backgrounds for exceptional academic and humanitarian accomplishments. The organization has awarded more than 11,000 scholarships and paid out more than $8.9 million in scholarships. The Carson Scholars Fund is currently operating in 50 states and the District of Columbia, and since its founding, has installed more than 270 Ben Carson Reading Rooms around the country. In 2021, Dr. Carson founded the American Cornerstone Institute (ACI), a conservative think tank centered around advancing policies that promote “faith, liberty, community, and life.” Dr. and Mrs. Carson reside in Florida. America's Roundtable with Bill Yeargin, CEO, Correct Craft and Author of "Faith Leap" | Advancing The Abraham Accords
Join America's Roundtable radio co-hosts Natasha Srdoc and Joel Anand Samy with Bill Yeargin, president and CEO of Correct Craft — a respected leader in the marine industry. On America's Roundtable, Bill Yeargin shares about his experiences in the business arena and the principles which guided him and his company through a major transformation from $40 million in sales in 2009 to over $1 billion annually. Bill Yeargin leads a company of over 2000 employees with distributors in 70 countries. Correct Craft had a 99-year history as a premier boat manufacturer but was teetering on the edge of survival when he took the reins in the early 2000s. During this conversation Bill Yeargin highlights his journey to the Middle East and the significance of the Abraham Accords and people-to-people relations through trade and investment to advance peace and prosperity. He has authored a number of books including the bestseller, “Education of a CEO” and the recently released “Faith Leap” - now available on Amazon. A passionate lifelong learner, Bill Yeargin has earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting and an MBA. He has also completed post-graduate studies at Harvard, Stanford, Wharton, and MIT. Bill Yeargin served both the Obama and Trump administrations on cabinet-level advisory councils. He is the Chairperson of The National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA), the nation’s leading trade association representing boat, marine engine and accessory manufacturers. Collectively, the association’s members manufacture an estimated 80 percent of marine products used in North America. “By the time I arrived at Correct Craft, the fighting within the company’s ownership family combined with a revolving door of CEOs, had created a culture that was, I think it’s fair to say, toxic,” says Yeargin. “Today, nearly 20 years later, Correct Craft has grown dramatically, exceeding our goal of over $1 billion in annual revenue. When people ask about the secret sauce that both turned Correct Craft around and fueled our tremendous growth, I share that it is primarily two things: our strategic planning process and our culture.” He has been recognized with many of the marine industry’s top awards including Boating Industry's “Mover and Shaker of the Year.” Florida Trend magazine called him one of “Florida’s Most Influential Business Leaders” and he is an Orlando Business Journal “CEO of the Year.” He was also presented the “Governor’s Business Ambassador Medal” by the Governor of Florida. The Boating Industry | Correct Craft’s World War II Miracle General Dwight D. Eisenhower's Urgent Request "Most of us in the industry know about the great work boat builders did during World War II to supply the military with vessels. It’s worth remembering, though, during this Memorial Day week. I was reminded of it once again as we finished up our anniversary issue, which went to print this week. The folks at Correct Craft/Nautique Boat Company shared some of their photos and information from that era, including the “Miracle Production.” That was when the company, then known as Pine Castle Boat and Construction Company, built 400 boats in 15 days in 1945 to aid the war effort – all without working Sundays. I’m sure the story is familiar to many of you, but worth sharing again. You can read the full story in the words of Ralph C. Meloon Sr. here, but these are some of the highlights: On February 9, 1945, the government contacted the company and asked them how many boats they could make by February 28. Simply put, the military needed boats and they needed them fast. Gen. Dwight D. Eisenhower was requesting 569 boats to help move troops and supplies across the Rhine as the allies made their final push into Germany. Although only scheduled to make 48 boats that month, the company agreed to produce 300. Despite pressure from the government to work seven days a week, the company kept to its long-held belief not to work on Sunday." Read the full article here. The conversation with Ambassador Eizenstat focuses on the rise of anti-Semitism in America, the significance of US leadership on the world stage as isolationism grows from within, combined with an emboldened axis of resistance led by Iran and its proxies, including China and Russia, undermining the West's rule of law civilization. The discussion highlights Ambassador Eizenstat's soon to be released book — “The Art of Diplomacy: How American Negotiators Reached Historic Agreements That Changed the World.” The book's foreword was written by Henry A. Kissinger and a preface presented by James A. Baker III. We cover the importance of America's leadership on the vital fronts of trade, peace and security. Ambassador Eizenstat speaks about the on-going efforts to engage European governments to restitute Jewish property confiscated during WWII and compensate Holocaust victims and their descendants. According to the Associated Press: "Yet among Israel’s estimated 165,000 survivors, roughly one in three lives in poverty, according to a survivors’ advocacy group." An Axis report states: Details: About 245,000 Holocaust survivors are living across more than 90 countries, according to a report released Tuesday by the Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany (Claims Conference). The vast majority (95%) are child survivors born between 1928 and 1946. The median age of survivors is 86, and around 61% are women. Roughly half of the survivors live in Israel, while 16% reside in the United States, the country with the second largest percentage, the study found. Around a third of the survivors in the U.S. are living in poverty, Greg Schneider, executive vice president of the Claims Conference, tells Axios. Zoom in: 40% of survivors worldwide access or have accessed social welfare services from over 300 agencies that receive grants administered by the Claims Conference. Services include home care, food, medicine and transportation, among others. Brief bio: Stuart E. Eizenstat of Washington, DC, is Chair of the United States Holocaust Memorial Council. America's Roundtable with Marc Lotter | Restoring America's Economic Greatness | Illegal Immigration | Biden's Dangerous Appeasement of anti-Israel Groups | Advancing Election Integrity
Join America's Roundtable radio co-hosts Natasha Srdoc and Joel Anand Samy with Marc Lotter, Former Special Assistant to President Donald J. Trump and Chief Communications Officer at America First Policy Institute. Marc Lotter is from Fort Wayne, Indiana, and serves as the Chief Communications Officer at America First Policy Institute (AFPI). Previously, Marc served as Director of Strategic Communications for the Trump-Pence 2020 campaign. He also was a Special Assistant to the President and Press Secretary to Vice President Mike Pence during most of the first year of the Trump Administration. Prior to joining the administration, he served as Press Secretary to the Vice President during the 2016 presidential campaign and transition. In those roles, Lotter regularly appeared on national and cable news outlets including Fox News Channel, MSNBC, CNN and programs such as: ABC’s This Week with George Stephanopoulos, CNN’s State of the Union with Jake Tapper, MSNBC’s Meet the Press Daily with Chuck Todd and Fox News Sunday with Chris Wallace. Before entering public service, Lotter spent 13 years as a producer and manager for television stations across the country. During Lotter’s career in local television news, his work received two Emmy awards and was recognized by the Society of Professional Journalists for the “Best Newscast” in Indiana. Our conversation focuses on: America's economy as inflationary prices persist with high interest rates. AP reported: "Mortgage rates, credit card rates, auto loan rates, and business loans with variable rates will all likely maintain their highs, with consequences for consumer spending, after the Federal Reserve indicated Wednesday that it doesn’t plan to cut interest rates until it has “greater confidence” that price increases at the consumer level are slowing to its 2% target. The central bank kept its key rate at a two-decade high of roughly 5.3%, where it has been since last August.” Illegal immigration impacting cities and local communities — will America's citizens and leaders address this crisis? President Joe Biden's policy on Israel. The Biden administration's decision to block the transfer of congressionally approved military aid to the Jewish state presents greater risks. Critics voice concerns that Biden's policy will embolden Israel's enemies in the region, notably Iran, a state sponsor of terrorism. Speaker Mike Johnson held a high-profile press conference unveiling the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act alongside the bill's leaders in the House and Senate, Rep. Chip Roy, R-Texas, and Sen. Mike Lee, R-Utah. According to Sen. John Kennedy (R-La.), a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee and co-sponsor of the SAVE act: "Current law makes it illegal for non-citizens to vote in federal elections, but it does not require states to obtain documentary proof of U.S. citizenship before an individual registers to vote. The SAVE Act would amend the National Voter Registration Act to clarify that states must require proof of citizenship when registering individuals to vote in federal elections." Join America's Roundtable radio co-hosts Natasha Srdoc and Joel Anand Samy with Judge Henry W. Saad, retired judge and former Chief Judge of the Michigan Court of Appeals. Judge Henry Saad serves as special counsel in Plunkett Cooney's Appellate Law Practice Group. In 1994, former Gov. America's Roundtable with Amb. Peter Hoekstra | US Economy, Security and Border Crisis | Biden's US-Israel Dangerous Policy Pivot | National Security Concerns as Michigan's Governor Whitmer Woos China
Join America's Roundtable radio co-hosts Natasha Srdoc and Joel Anand Samy with Honorable Peter Hoekstra who served as America's ambassador to the Netherlands. Special Commentary via America's Roundtable Radio | Natasha Srdoc and Joel Anand Samy review President Joe Biden's State of the Union address and the China threat. During 1993-2011, US Congressman Hoekstra served the citizens of Michigan's 2nd congressional district, was the chairman of the United States House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, and a member of the Gang of Eight from 2004 until 2011, receiving the most highly classified information available in the U.S. government. During his tenure as America's top diplomat to the Netherlands, The Hague hosted the Department of State Global Entrepreneurial Summit in June of 2019, which was attended by over 2000 entrepreneurs, investors, and other business leaders. Pete Hoekstra’s areas of expertise include national security, international relations, cyber security, marketing and business development and his experience as a Fortune 500 executive. In February 2024, he took over the reins as chairman of the Michigan Republican Party. Key topics covered with Ambassador Hoekstra on America's Roundtable: The state of America's economy, the nation's significant challenge with millions of illegal immigrants pouring into the nation since 2021, and the growing concerns of a looming security threat within the nation's borders. The China threat in states across America: The efforts to mobilize grassroots activists to oppose the efforts undertaken by Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer and Quentin Messer Jr., the CEO of the Michigan Economic Development Corp. to bring two lithium ion battery manufacturers to Michigan which are headquartered in the People’s Republic of China (PRC) and alleged to have ties with Chinese Communist Party (CCP). Published report: "For the projects in Michigan, there are all sorts of red flags flying around the roughly $4 billion in economic incentives, tax benefits, and infrastructure improvements the state of Michigan is handing out as incentives to CATL/Ford and Gotion to locate the two projects in Michigan. Ford is "licensing" CCP technology for its plant with CATL while Gotion is a subsidiary of a Chinese-based company subject to Chinese surveillance laws. Both already have seen support from Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer and the state legislature, which last week began the process of approving nearly $200 million for the Gotion project in Michigan." Op-Ed by US Ambassadors Pete Hoekstra and Joe Cella | The Detroit News | Against China threat, Whitmer leans into Taiwan Brief excerpt: "_It is unconscionable and hypocritical of Whitmer to invest billions of Michigan taxpayer dollars in these PRC-based and CCP-tied companies — which are also connected to the People's Liberation Army (PLA), Communist North Korea, forced labor in Xinjiang, and Communist Chinese Military Companies — while ignoring the existential threat the PRC and the CCP present to Taiwan. Worse yet, the "deals" are shrouded by secret code names, binding and punitive non-disclosure agreements (NDAs) and were not subjected to strict scrutiny and due diligence, defying the direction of our national security and intelligence agencies gave to a group of bipartisan elected officials and business leaders. With the threat environment emanating around the globe from the PRC and the CCP today, it takes strong principles to stand and courageously counter the threat to protect our national security._" Is President Joe Biden's policy threatening Israel's future? Is Biden's administration and political campaign placing electorate considerations above Israel's security and sovereignty? Focusing on Iran's ambitions. America's Roundtable with Fmr. Congressman Dave Brat | Vanishing Middle Class in America | Biden's Executive Order (EO) Unfairly Targets Israeli Jews | Impact of Illegal Immigration in America
Join America's Roundtable radio co-hosts Natasha Srdoc and Joel Anand Samy with one of America's top economists ⏤ former US Congressman Dave Brat, vice-president for business engagement at Liberty University. America's Roundtable conversation with Congressman Dave Brat covers the following key topics: Wealth creation | The growing disparity between America's top 1% and the vanishing middle-class. The persistent inflationary prices adversely impacting America's families. Crisis on America's southern border. | The death of Laken Riley, a 22-year-old nursing student at the University of Georgia and the arrest of Jose Antonio Ibarra, a 26-year-old Venezuelan citizen who immigration officials said entered the U.S. illegally. The policy of peace through strength versus appeasement. The Biden administration's foreign policy placed under the spotlight. Serious concerns are raised about President Biden's Executive Order (EO) which unfairly targets Israeli Jews in Judea and Samaria ⏤ the Biblical heartland of Israel, also known as the West Bank. Biden's EO clearly undermines Israel as a strong rule of law nation. Is this EO a departure of US support for the Jewish state? America's Roundtable with Rabbi Eliot H. Pearlson | Revitalizing American Exceptionalism | US-Israel Partnership | Biden's Executive Order Targeting Israeli Jews | The Abraham Accords
Join America's Roundtable radio co-hosts Natasha Srdoc and Joel Anand Samy with Rabbi Eliot H. Pearlson who serves at the Temple Menorah in Miami Beach, Florida. America's Roundtable conversation with Rabbi Eliot Pearlson includes the following key topics: Is “American exceptionalism” fading? The agenda to re-write America’s unique role in advancing freedom and the rule of law. Socialism in Latin America and lessons for America’s citizens. How October 7, 2023 changed Israel. The call to free Americans and Israeli hostages still held captive in Gaza. The significance of remembrance. The future of the Abraham Accords. Is Biden’s new executive order targeting Israeli citizens and politicians ⏤ a departure of US support for the Jewish state? Brief biography | Rabbit Eliot H. Pearlson In 1989, Rabbi Eliot H. Pearlson succeeded Rabbi Meyer Abramowitz ז”ל, who had served Temple Menorah since its founding in 1949. Rabbi Pearlson was no stranger to Temple Menorah, having served as our Director of Education before leaving for a pulpit in Asheville, North Carolina. Born in upstate New York, he is the youngest of eight children. His parents, Sylvia and Ben ז”ל were farmers near Buffalo until moving to Miami Beach in 1963, where they entered the Hotel and Hospitality industry. Within months of assuming his duties, Rabbi Pearlson followed in the footsteps of his predecessor, affirming the well-deserved notoriety of Temple Menorah by opening the institution to hundreds of Russian Jews escaping from the Soviet Union. Along with the survivors of the Holocaust and the refugees of Castro’s Cuba, another generation of Jewish refugees were guaranteed a spiritual home and place to worship. Education Rabbi Pearlson’s Jewish education is varied and diverse. Although serving in a Traditional synagogue, Rabbi Pearlson has studied in “Litvishe” Yeshiva programs such as the Greater Miami Mesifta, The Talmudic University , Lubavitch Yeshiva-Tomchei Tmimim, and Yeshiva University. In addition to his religious studies, Rabbi Pearlson has undergraduate degrees in Jewish Studies and Biochemistry, a Masters Degree in Rabbinic Literature, and graduate studies in Microbiology at the University of Florida. He was granted his Doctor of Ministry (D.Min.) degree in Community Leadership by The Florida Center for Theological Studies in 2010. Rabbi Pearlson received Orthodox Rabbinic Ordination at the Diaspora Yeshiva on Mt. Zion-Jerusalem. Community Among Rabbi Pearlson’s community outreach efforts has been the ‘adoption’ of an African American Church. ln addition to a pulpit exchange with its minister, Temple Menorah also sponsored its Afternoon Computer Lab for Children at Risk. As a Jewish activist, Rabbi Pearlson has been arrested defending Jewish causes in Auschwitz-Birkenau, New York City and Miami—as his supporters note: “Arrested, but never convicted.” Further reading: Is America Exceptional? By Norman Podhoretz | Author, My Love Affair with America Brief excerpt: "We have excelled by following our Founding Fathers in directing our energies, as our Constitution exhorts us to do, to the preservation of the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, as well as to the pursuit of happiness tacitly understood by the Declaration of Independence to require prosperity as a precondition. (In his original draft of the Declaration, of course, Jefferson used the word “property” instead of “pursuit of happiness.”) By remaining faithful in principle—and to a considerable extent in practice—to the ideas by which the Founders hoped to accomplish these ends, we and our forebears have fashioned a country in which more liberty and more prosperity are more widely shared than among any other people in human history. Yes, even today that holds true, despite policies unfaithful both to the letter and to the spirit of the traditional American system that have resulted in a series of political and economic setbacks." America's Roundtable with Dr. Ben Carson | Israel's War Against Hamas | America's Sacrosanct Ties with Israel | Addressing the Rise of Anti-Semitism
Join America's Roundtable radio co-hosts Natasha Srdoc and Joel Anand Samy with Benjamin S. Carson, Sr., M.D., America’s 17th Secretary of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and founder of the American Cornerstone Institute. Dr. Carson is former Chief of Pediatric Neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital. He is author of bestselling books: Gifted Hands, Think Big, A More Perfect Union, The Big Picture, America the Beautiful, and Created Equal. The discussion on America's Roundtable focuses on Israel's war against Iran-backed Hamas, Iran's proxies attacking US facilities, and the significance of America's sacrosanct ties with Israel. Dr. Carson addresses the rise of anti-Semitism in America. The conversation brings to the forefront the successful Abraham Accords and the urgency to hold to account Iran, a state sponsor of terrorism. Benjamin S. Carson, Sr., M.D. For a time, the likelihood of Benjamin S. Carson, Sr., M.D. fulfilling his childhood dream of becoming a physician seemed unlikely. Growing up in a single parent home with dire poverty, poor grades, a horrible temper, and low self-esteem appeared to preclude the realization of that dream until his mother, with only a third-grade education, challenged her sons to strive for excellence. She observed successful people and encouraged her sons to emulate their behaviors, including reading. This led to behavior changes which had a profound effect on their education. In 1973, Ben Carson graduated from Yale University. He became the inaugural recipient of a professorship dedicated in his name in May 2008. He is now the Emeritus Benjamin S. Carson, Sr., M.D. and Dr. Evelyn Spiro, R.N. Professor of Pediatric Neurosurgery, having retired on June 30, 2013. In 2016, Dr. Carson accepted the position of Secretary of Housing and Urban Development under the Trump administration. After completing his tenure as the 17th Secretary of the Department of Housing and Urban Development in 2021, Dr. Carson founded the American Cornerstone Institute. This organization is focused on fighting for the principles that have guided him through life and that make this country great: faith, liberty, community and life. americasrt.com https://ileaderssummit.org/ | https://jerusalemleaderssummit.com/ America's Roundtable on Apple Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/americas-roundtable/id1518878472 Twitter: @RealBenCarson @ileaderssummit @AmericasRT @NatashaSrdoc @JoelAnandUSA @supertalk America's Roundtable is co-hosted by Natasha Srdoc and Joel Anand Samy, co-founders of International Leaders Summit and the Jerusalem Leaders Summit. Further reading: By Michael J. Abramowitz and Yana Gorokhovskaia Dallas Morning News | Journalists face threats around the world About Freedom House | History Freedom House is the oldest American organization devoted to the support and defense of democracy around the world. It was formally established in New York in 1941 to promote American involvement in World War II and the fight against fascism. From the beginning, Freedom House was notable for its bipartisan support. Freedom House's founders were prominent and influential leaders from the fields of business and labor, journalism, academia, and government. A central figure among its early leaders was First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt. Wendell Willkie, the Republican presidential nominee who ran against President Roosevelt in 1940, was also an ardent supporter and served as honorary co-chair along with Mrs. Roosevelt. Initially, the mission of Freedom House was to counter isolationism, a powerful force promoted by the America First Committee. At the time, ninety percent of American citizens were opposed to involvement in the European war, even as Nazi tanks rolled across the continent and concentration camps began to fill with people. The leaders of Freedom House argued that Hitler posed a grave threat to American security and values.
