Staying Power 04-01-26 Fooling Ourselves

Episode 116: Fooling Ourselves On April Fool’s Day, we’re surrounded by jokes, pranks, and playful deception. But what does it actually mean to be “foolish”? In this episode of Staying Power, Ashley and JD take a deeper look at foolishness — not as a punchline, but as a human tendency rooted in bias, emotion, overconfidence, and misperception. Drawing from psychology, behavioral economics, and philosophy, they explore how we all “fool ourselves” at times — and how recognizing those patterns can actually lead to greater wisdom, humility, and growth. Because being foolish isn’t the opposite of being smart. It’s part of being human.

Talk Cosmos 03-29-26 US 2nd Government

Join Talk Cosmos | Sunday, March 29 | 1–2 p.m. PDT about the "US 2nd Government" — What does astrology reveal about this powerful moment for America? Most people know July 4, 1776 as the birth of the United States — but that's only part of the story. The Revolutionary War began in 1775, ended in 1781, and was officially concluded with the Treaty of Paris in 1783. The first US government under the Articles of Confederation struggled to survive. So the founders built something stronger. On September 17, 1787 a new Constitution was drafted. Ratified in 1789 with a Bill of Rights protecting individual freedoms. And on March 4, 1789 — Congress convened in New York, elected officers, approved the Constitution, and reorganized the nation. That is America's 2nd Government — and it has its own astrological chart. With the US federal government and Congress front and center right now, this is a conversation you won't want to miss. Tune in Sunday for a thought-provoking hour connecting history, astrology, and the present moment. Why Men Withdraw: Redefining Masculinity and Healing After Relationship Crisis

In this episode, Glen Gilbert sits down with Trey Tucker, founder of Rugged Counseling, to unpack the complex intersection of masculinity and emotional health. Tucker, a therapist and coach with a background in corporate leadership and athletics, shares his "no-fluff" approach to helping men navigate the aftermath of divorce and betrayal. The conversation dives deep into why men often instinctively withdraw or isolate during relationship crises, exploring how biological "fight or flight" responses and cultural expectations—like the pressure to "swallow" emotions—can lead to a breakdown in connection. Tucker argues that while being action-oriented is a masculine strength, it must be balanced with the courage to "check the engine" and address internal struggles before they lead to isolation. The discussion also explores how early upbringing and fatherhood shape a man's identity and his definition of success. Tucker explains that many men carry a "haunting" sense of not being enough, often stemming from gaps in their relationship with their own fathers or from living up to someone else's definition of achievement. By addressing common post-divorce blindspots—such as the false belief that a failed marriage makes one "less of a man"—this episode provides practical insights for men looking to rebuild their confidence and find a purpose that is truly their own. DAMTT 03-27-26 The Modern Times of Buc-ee’s, Tea Brack, and K-Pop

Stacy isn’t the only one that lives far away, it turns out there’s DAMTT listeners all over the country (and world)! But how many of them have experienced Buc-ee’s? Stacy and her husband made the pilgrimage and as promised, it’s a lot, from “Beaver Chips” to brisket and bathing suits, Buc-ee’s delivers. Eric had a less in-your-face time celebrating St. Patrick’s Day with tea brack and colcannon. He also has FSA money to spend so let the loophole search on how to spend it best begin. Eric’s Cultural Blindspot of the week is on the AFI 100 list, Modern Times with Charlie Chaplin. It was a movie square on the fence between the silent era and “talkies” about finding and keeping a job in the face of modern times. Also starring Paulette Goddard, Eric was surprised to find he enjoyed it so much and saw the seeds of many comedy bits like I Love Lucy’s chocolate factory episode. Stacy watched KPop Demon Hunters which she was also surprised to enjoy since she’s not into K-pop or manufactured bands. Her takeaway was its good for children AND your inner child. As for nicknames, Ric-y Radio/E/Eric has none while Beans/Stacky/Fire Face/Stacy has plenty to go by and give! Stacy is still getting adjusted to life in San Antonio with days mostly punctuated by sun, heat, deliveries, and service calls with folks like the grumpy clock guy. She’s also learning about life with hard water which Eric is surprisingly well-versed in. His update is less sunny as he found out he didn’t read the fine print about his gum graft surgery; like that there’s a part two!! It’s enough to make you wonder about the ROI on dental procedures. But in good news, Battersea played another great show even if Eric did spill his drink. Stacy and Eric both checked off Cultural Blindspots; Stacy watched 9 to 5 while Eric watched, To Kill a Mockingbird. Eric also watched Band of Brothers and Pacific which was awesome but brutal. Made of More 03-18-26 From Chronic Illness to Nonprofit Founder: Alia Joy’s Mission to Heal

In this inspiring episode of Made of More, host Chris Erdmann sits down with Alia Joy to discuss her transformative journey from battling a debilitating autoimmune disease to becoming a passionate entrepreneur. Diagnosed at age 15 and bedridden for years due to intense physical pain, Alia found strength through her faith, the power of holistic medicine, and a supportive community. Now, she is channeling that adversity into purpose by launching "Organic Design," a newly founded nonprofit dedicated to helping individuals uncover the root causes of their illnesses while providing them with crucial financial and emotional support. Expanding her entrepreneurial vision even further, Alia is also in the process of producing a documentary about autoimmune diseases and starting an anti-inflammatory cooking show to make healing more accessible. Her journey is a powerful testament to refusing to let negative diagnoses define your reality, instead using personal hardship to build an organization that serves and uplifts others. About the show: Made of More is a radio show / podcast that shares the powerful, personal stories behind the entrepreneurs of the greater Seattle area and beyond, individuals who have built meaningful businesses and experiences not just to better their own lives, but to positively impact their communities, families, and the world around them. Wisdom From The Wardrobe 03-09-26 The Wisdom From The Wardrobe Retrospective Fashion Trends, Personal Style & 244 Episodes of Wardrobe Wisdom

After 244 episodes of fashion debates, wardrobe dilemmas, trend predictions, and the occasional style confession, the Wisdom From the Wardrobe team takes a step back to look at the journey of the show itself. What began as a simple monthly conversation about clothes grew into a weekly exploration of fashion trends, personal style, wardrobe psychology, and the ever-changing relationship people have with getting dressed. Naturally, this episode begins in classic Wisdom From the Wardrobe fashion, with a slightly unexpected detour. Bec arrives armed with a Thera-Cane and the bold declaration that she may have been “born to be 80,” which quickly leads to a lively discussion about the so-called Potato Shoe Theory. From Birkenstock to UGG slippers to foam-molded footwear that looks suspiciously like it may have been inspired by root vegetables, the team explores the rise of comfort-first fashion and the curious charm of “ugly-cute” shoes in the 2020s. From there the conversation turns toward the show itself and the many directions it has taken over the years. Along the way the team revisits memorable moments, spirited debates around the table, surprising fashion comebacks, and the universal wardrobe mystery of why we all seem to own at least one item we’ve never worn but absolutely refuse to part with. More than anything, this retrospective celebrates the conversations that made the show what it is: discussions about confidence, identity, creativity, and the small daily ritual of choosing how we present ourselves to the world through clothing. After hundreds of conversations about style, trends, and the psychology of getting dressed, the team reflects on what they’ve learned and what they hope listeners have taken away from the show. Trends may come and go, but great style, like a good conversation — never really goes out of fashion. If this is your first time listening, here are a few episodes from the archive to get you started: • Our conversations about personal style and confidence • Episodes exploring fashion trends and wardrobe psychology • Listener favorite discussions on closet clean-outs and wardrobe strategy Browse the full archive and discover more conversations about fashion, style, and the everyday ritual of getting dressed.

Rebuilding the Modern Man: Navigating Relationships, Health, and Brotherhood After Divorce

In this episode of the Glen Gilbert Connection, Dr. Alan Chen joins the show to explore how men can rebuild themselves physically, emotionally, and relationally following a divorce. The discussion sheds light on the downward spiral many men face during relational and emotional turmoil, which often manifests in poor health habits like sleep deprivation, depression symptoms, and overeating. To break these negative patterns, Dr. Chen encourages men to look closely at the root causes of their relationship failures, take accountability for potentially ignoring early red flags in a partner, and recognize how their personal management of stress is actively absorbed by their children. A core theme of the conversation is the distinct way men process relational grief and the critical importance of fostering male-only spaces for authentic healing. Dr. Chen strongly advises against using social media as a public diary for emotional struggles, noting that deep vulnerability should be reserved strictly for a trusted circle of male friends. By acknowledging that men and women possess different strengths, experiences, and ways of understanding, the episode underscores that surrounding oneself with other men who have faced similar heartbreaks allows for genuine empathy, the removal of misplaced shame, and the collaborative problem-solving necessary to build a healthier future. DAMTT 03-13-26 Battersea, Birthdays, and Bad Coworkers

The band is back together, except not really since Stacy is finally in her new home in San Antonio. While Eric has been prepping for his latest Battersea gig at The Central Salon and adjusting to Daylight Savings, Stacy has been unpacking, learning the two-step at Stable Hall, and trying out local bars. At Otto’s Icehouse she ran into Spurs Jesus which was not a religious experience although Stacy and Eric had some thoughts on adding other biblical icons to make a sort of Peanuts-esque gang for SJ to hang with at games. As for Cultural Blindspots, Stacy finally watched Weapons on a recent flight and was semi-surprised by how much she liked it. Meanwhile Eric continues to overachieve by watching not one, but two movies; Key Largo, a Bogart and Becall movie with a film noir vibe and Tucker, The Man, The Car. While sharing it’s clear Stacy knows all the “hot goss” about dead Hollywood stars and nothing about cars. Eric shares his surprise that the Tucker movie was directed by famed Godfather director, Francis Ford Coppola since it seems more like what would be considered an “indie” these days. As for the week’s top topic, annoying coworker behaviors, Eric has more actual experience in a classic office setting, but Stacy has more thoughts. The Loretta Brown Show - 03-12-26 - Tarot Emblemata

Today, Loretta welcomes Nitasia Roland is a writer, poet, digital artist, independent researcher, and publisher of esoteric works through her indie press, Urania Press. With an interdisciplinary master’s degree in English, poetry, printmaking, and design, and an MFA in creative writing, her work sits at the crossroads of art, literature, mysticism, and symbolic philosophy. For over twenty-five years she has explored the Western Esoteric Tradition, Hermeticism, mythology, divination, synchro mysticism, and poetic trance as pathways to deeper understanding of the symbolic imagination. Her creative works include several Tarot and oracle decks such as Tarot Chimera, Starlore Astronomical Tarot, Terra Incognita Oracle, Astronomia Oracle, and the widely celebrated Tarot Emblemata deck. Tarot Emblemata uniquely revives the symbolic tradition of Renaissance emblem books, drawing from 16th-century French historian Claude Paradin’s Devises Heroïques, aligning those enigmatic emblems with the Major and Minor Arcana of Tarot. Through this fusion of historical imagery and archetypal symbolism, Roland’s work invites readers into contemplative dialogue with the mysteries of myth, spirit, and imagination. Wisdom From The Wardrobe 03-02-26 Spring 2026 Trends Volume, Minis & a Little Mayhem

Science class meets style column this week on Wisdom From the Wardrobe. We kick things off with Bec’s In the News, where she introduces a fascinating innovation in fashion technology: a chalk-based mineral polymer coating that blocks UV and infrared radiation and can cool fabrics up to eight degrees. That’s right, a fabric finish designed to literally keep you cooler. When science and style collide, we’re paying attention. From there, we head straight to the runways to unpack the Spring Summer 2026 fashion trends, and let’s just say the designers did not come to whisper. This season is playing with proportion, personality, and a healthy dose of drama. Voluminous silhouettes are expanding around the hips, minis are confidently reclaiming leg day, and bold primary colors are clashing in joyful technicolor moments that feel more playground than palette. There’s fringe with a sporty edge, draped fabrics creating movement and ease, and statement jewels escaping the eveningwear drawer to sparkle unapologetically in broad daylight. Along the way we also discussed the ongoing runway romance with midriff-baring suiting (a look some of us may admire more than adopt), the enduring power of sharp tailoring, and the inevitable return of florals for spring, this time revived from archival prints and given a fresh artistic twist. In other words, the Spring Summer 2026 style trends are bold, expressive, occasionally baffling, and undeniably fun to talk about. As always, we sort through what works on the runway, what might actually work in a real-life wardrobe, and which trends might be best appreciated from the comfort of a front-row opinion. Because fashion may change every season, but a good style conversation never goes out of fashion.

Talk Cosmos 03-08-26 PISCES LIBRA Lunar Beats

Join Talk Cosmos, Sunday 8 MARCH 2026, 1–2 p.m. PST as we explore the “PISCES LIBRA Lunar Beats” of the upcoming New and Full Moons. The 28° Harmonic Cycle Celestial events often transpire as turning points. The 28° Pisces New Moon on 18 March culminates a unique six-month sequence of New Moons occurring at the 28th degree. This rhythmic cycle finds its completion following the 12° Libra Full Moon on 1 April 2026. I find myself wondering: why did this unique 28° cycle begin and end in Libra? Having started with the October 2025 Libra New Moon, it now concludes after the 2026 Libra Full Moon. Reflective Curiosity & Venusian Values Mercury (in apparent retrograde) inspires a reflective curiosity, prompting us to ponder how the past influences the present. Intriguingly, as I write this, Mercury retrograde is conjunct Venus at 22° Pisces. This suggests contemplating Venusian values—and everything with which we share a relationship—matters with the utmost significance. In pure Libra terms, this involves engaging with whatever relates to you. Yes, this includes people, but it extends far beyond. Compassionate Unity & Harmonious Beauty This month’s pair of lunations suggests a Piscean compassionate unity woven into the Libran appreciation for beauty and harmonious relationship. This resonance applies to every facet of your life—be it your pets, friends, family (present or not), your dreams, or your work. It touches whatever you desire for personal success, both within yourself and with others. The Essence of the Luminary The second week of the month focuses on capturing the Moon’s essence during its New and Full phases. As our most personal planet, the Moon regulates the past as it flows into the present, allowing us to experience emotions, habits, and feelings. Ultimately, it helps us piece together the meaningfulness of our life story. Each month offers the energetic input needed to grow, heal, and develop in mind, body, heart, and spirit. Wisdom From The Wardrobe 02-23-26 Spring Summer 2026 Color Trends Pantone Shades Worth Wearing

The Colors Everyone Will Be Wearing in Spring 2026 (According to Pantone) Fashion exhibitions, fearless color, and a little bit of “menopause mayhem.” Just another stylish week on Wisdom From the Wardrobe. We kick things off, as always, with In the News, where Bec brings us word that the iconic Met Gala has announced its upcoming theme, “Costume Art.” The exhibition explores the idea that the dressed body is a common thread across the entire museum collection, a reminder that clothing isn’t just fashion, it’s storytelling. From museum halls to the runways of New York Fashion Week, we then turn our attention to the Spring/Summer 2026 Pantone color trends, and this season’s palette is anything but shy. According to the Pantone Color Institute, designers are pushing back against AI-driven sameness and leaning into bold personal expression. The result? A mix of comforting neutrals and vibrant statement shades that feel optimistic, expressive, and occasionally… a little chaotic. Think tones like Burnt Sienna and Coffee Bean, interesting shades like Muskmelon, soft romantic shades like Dusty Rose, and grounding hues like Marina and Sage Green. In other words, there’s a color for every mood, including the occasional moment of what Stacy lovingly referred to as “menopause mayhem.” In this episode, we break down the Spring Summer 2026 color trends, talk about which shades actually work in real life wardrobes, and share practical ways to incorporate trending colors without feeling like you’re dressed as a Pantone swatch. Because great style isn’t about wearing every trend. It’s about knowing which ones deserve a spot in your closet. Expect plenty of laughs, a few honest opinions, and the usual reminder that personal style should be fun and not a paint-by-numbers exercise. If you’ve wondering which fashion color trends are worth trying (and which might be better left on the runway), this episode is your stylish cheat sheet.
