When it's opening day you don't want to be sidelined with something you could of fixed while you waited for the snow to melt. We give you a few ideas of what to look for and issues we have had with our equipment.

The time of year, water temperature, visibility and many other factors come into consideration when you are deciding if today those fish want a 3' bait or a 5' bait. On the ice or open water, the size of your bait and the profile can be the biggest factor to consistently catching fish.

Cover holds monster Walleyes and they will bite all day from their hiding spot. Cover is perfect to ambush bait fish and small game fish. It provides cover and concealment and there is usually less fishing pressure. If you're not Bass fishing for Walleye, you are missing out.

Confidence is not seen in the fishing world, but it can make all the difference. Confidence comes in many different shapes and colors and it can cost a little or a lot. It's early spring and the Walleye are roaming the open basin of your local lake/reservoir. You see marks on your graph and the fish are close to the bottom or belly to the bottom. Using in-line weights or other snap weights is too aggressive for early spring and you need a weight system to deliver your crank bait to the bottom. Leadcore is a versitile easy way to troll for those early spring Walleye. Once you start to master using leadcore, you can use leadcore to deliver crawler harnesses over submerged trees and brush or use leadcore to follow the rolling contours of a shore line.
