Ep 112Fall Night Eyezzzz
Fall is a great time of year to go out and find that trophy. No I am not talking about that bull elk, I am talking about big EYEZZZZ. The feed is on and if you love catching big Walleye it's time to not forget about the fall being the best time of year to catch that once in a life time trophy. You have all the feeding of spring and none of the relationship drama associated with the spawn. Trolling cranks in the fall high in the water column can produce big fall EYEZZZZ. Don't forget All Eyes Podcast is no crowdsource funded and you can become a member by going to our Podbean page and donating to the podcast. We appreciate all support from our fans.
Ep 110Fall 2020
In the spirit of democracy and in the interest of debating on how to catch more fish in the fall, we at All Eyes have brought in a good friend of ours Dan Giordano and one hell of a stick to help LEAD YOU TO THE NEXT LEVEL! It's fall time and the fish are putting on the feed. We talk where to find the fall fish and what to use. Techniques and tricks for catching fall fish. Dan will also be in our new Next Level episode and if you want to hear more of our conversation with Dan you can subscribe to The Next Level and not miss the rest of our conversation. Ep 109Being Prepared
It has to be said! We have to talk about being prepared for anything when you are traveling to your next tournament or taking the family out on the boat for fun day. It's a boat and things go wrong...ALL THE TIME! It's important you carry spare parts and check your equipment. In this episode we talk about the bad luck we have had and what we have learned. We have traveled across the country pulling boats and the one thing I know for sure...If it can go wrong it will go wrong. If you like what you have heard subscribe to the Next Level and get longer episodes with more info from the nations best fishing podcast.
Ep 108Walleye Pro Dan Swanson Talks Lowrance and Tournaments
See what you are missing. This a a great Next Level episode where we talk to Walleye Professional Angler and former PWT Rookie of the Year, Dan Swanson about Lowrance and Tournament fishing. Dan is Lowrance Pro Staff along with, St. Croix, Berkley, Ranger Boats and Evinrude. Dan is extremely knowledgeable about Lowrance products and is a great resource. If you aren't subscribing to THE NEXT LEVEL you are missing out on in depth information. For the cost of a dozen night crawlers, you could be a Next Level subscriber. WELCOME TO THE NEXT LEVEL!
Ep 106Snap Jigging
Competition. The name of the game in late summer and early fall is competition with all the bait in the lake. Bait has exploded in most lakes across the country and you are trying to feed a group of fish while they sit at a Golden Coral full of bait. It's a tough time of year but there are still plenty of opportunities to have great productive days on the water. Snap jigging a variety of baits is a great way to make your baits stand out and scream "I am dying...come eat me"! Don't forget if you like what you hear, subscribe to the next level and get extended episodes with more in depth content and topics for the more advanced angler.
Ep 105Do You Swivel?
Do you swivel your cranks? Jigs? Do you swivel when you connect leader material to main line? Or do you just snap? This weeks episode we answer a listeners question on the proper use of swivels and what type of swivels we use. Nope... we don't claim to be right on this one, we just give our opinion. A little humor for you all and some talk about swivels.
Ep 104Summer Thermocline
It's hot and the water is warm. Fish can be tough to find for most people. As the water warms to the upper 70's and low 80's fish move to the thermocline part of the water column and they seek the comfort of the cooler oxygenated water. Bait fish and other prey move to this same area and the suspending bite turns on. In this weeks podcast we discuss a recent tournament where most everyone targeted those thermocline fish. Don't miss Summer Thermocline.
Ep 102Big Bait vs. Little Bait
What size crank do you reach for in the middle of summer? Do you go for the 3 inch jig or the 4 inch? This time of year it's important to know the cycle of the bait and the ecosystem you fish. Plenty of food for fish to eat means you have to either match the hatch OR be different and draw their attention. Reaction strikes on big baits is a great way to catch summer fish. Sometimes a smaller bait and slower presentation is the key for well fed fish. Lets talk bait size and what consideration you should give that.
Ep 101Cranks...Flicker Shads
Lets break down crank baits! We start of this series with our favorite and a big producer...Berkley Flicker Shads and Flicker Minnows. Berkley makes a line of great crank baits. From the Cutters for jerk baits to Bad Shads to the Flicker Shad, it's tough to compete with production and price. In this episode we talk about favorite colors and ways to fish these versatile baits.
Ep 99Summer Live Bait
In the immortal words of Van Halen...Hot summer nights and my radio! It's summer and it's getting really warm. The water temps are in the 70's and the lakes are full of people. With the warm temps and pressure on the resources, what is the best way to catch summer fish? Live bait and summer presentations go hand in hand. In this episode we talk about live bait fishing for summer eyes. You will like this one!
Ep 98Winning Mentality
If you don't subscribe to the next level but you like listening to the podcast...here is a little taste of what you get with The Next Level. The difference between the winning mentality and consistently looking for a top 20 finish. Always evolving and always looking to improve can be a confusing and frustrating task. Sometimes going back to basics is the answer.
Ep 96Just Jigs
Keep it simple. Jigs are the most versatile Walleye bait made. Cast them, jig them, pitch them, vertical jig them, drag them...it doesn't matter how you work them, a jig will produce bites. In this podcast we talk a little bit about jigging and our favorite jigs and jig presentations. It's a big topic...I think I smell a Next Level episode coming soon.
Ep 94Tough Conditions
It's Saturday morning and the boats are lining up. Team 1 comes over the radio and you see team 1 blast off. Team 15 is called and you slam down the throttle and hear that big motor come to life. The loud growl of outboard horse power barks out and you are off. You round the corner to your first spot and come off plane to feel a strong breeze picking up. Within the hour the wind is 20-30 sustained out of the wrong direction and you are now battling to catch fish for two days. In this episode we talk tough conditions and how to fish those tough times when you have too. When coming off the water isn't an option.
Ep 93Plan C
What ever doesn't kill you...makes you stronger. In fishing the painful is often times the best lesson we can learn. When Plan A and B fail most have no idea what Plan C is. If you want to be a consistent fisherman and fish tournaments and produce fish, you need to always be thinking about whats your next move. You can catch 20, 16 inch fish by casting the same hump every year and you feel like a rock star. Your neighbor who fishes all over the lake every year is a Plan C kinda guy and instead of 20 fish he catches 50 and he does it rain or shine. Force yourself out of your comfort zone and fish different ways on different parts of the lake and start to teach yourself Plan C. Don't forget to order you All Eyes on Fishing hats and stickers. Ep 91Early Summer Slip Bobbers
Late spring and early summer is a perfect time to get out the slip bobbers. One of the most effective ways to work tight areas of structure for big big fish. This technique is often overlooked by tournament anglers due to it's slow pace, but this versatile way of fishing can be ultra productive. A perfect way to keep your kids interested in fishing and one of the best dead stick presentations on the planet. Everything slip bobbers. If you like our podcasts, don't forget to subscribe to the "Next Level" where we go into detail on your favorite topics. For the cost of a dozen night crawlers a month you can get more All Eyes and help support the nations favorite fishing podcast All Eyes on Fishing. Ep 89Spring Transition
Open water is here and the Walleye are moving away from the rivers and the spawning grounds and starting to school up and transition into the early summer pattern. Fish are scattered and on the move. Here today and no where to be found tomorrow. Big fish can be tough to find unless you are fishing early morning or the night bite. You need to transition how you fish and where you fish. Not only daily but sometimes hourly. How you catch fish at 7 am may not be how you catch fish at 1 pm. Live bait may not be the best presentation this time of year. Fish are hungry and reaction strikes can produce more fish then you might think. Don't miss this episode. Don't forget to order an All Eyes hat or T shirt. Show your support for all eyes by spreading the word. If you like the podcast give it a good rating and share it with your friends. If you want more, subscribe to the Next Level and get long podcasts on your favorite topics.
Ep 87Boat Rigging
Rigging your boat is highly personal. A bracket here and a rod holder there. It is all about personal feel and what you have seen others do. Due to popular requests we go into how we rig our boats now and how we have rigged old boats. We rig our boats to be efficient and and to store what we need. We like open space free of hazards and we use that to fish at night and in tough weather conditions. Lets talk rigging boats.
Ep 85Make 'em Bite/More Reaction Strike
As Walleye fishing and Walleye anglers continue to grow and expand their sometimes old school thought processes, more and more Walleye anglers are starting to resemble bass anglers. Multiple rods used to optimize the number of baits that hit the water in a given area. Aggressive shallow water tactics and less live bait produce more tournament wins then the traditional live bait presentations. In this episode we talk reaction strikes and what that means. How to go out and make them bite. We need to stop coaxing Walleyes to bite and we need to fish for active Walleyes that are actively feeding. This conversation gets carried over in tomorrows release of the Next Level where we are joined by Josh's tournament team mates Steve and Brooks Tyser and we continue to discuss reaction strikes!
Ep 83Boat Ramp Nightmares Reboot
It's that time of year. Time to sit back and watch all those who sit on the ramps and load their boats. Time to watch the cover come off for the first time this year while the boat is blocking a lane and is backed to the waters edge. It's time to see all the dock smacking, chest wading, bad weather loading of the year! BOAT RAMP NIGHTMARES. If you are a long time listener, chances are you have listened to this one before, but if you are new to the All Eyes podcast we wanted to share one of our most popular episodes with you. You don't want to miss this episode of some great stories of some of the worst boat ramp behavior we have seen.
Ep 82Trolling Leadcore For Deeper Fish
This is one of our original episodes on trolling leadcore for Walleye. A lot of great information about using leadcore to get your baits down closer to the bottom and in those deeper strike zones. Spring, fall and basin trolling are all prime examples of how leadcore can be used to produce more and bigger Eyes. Don't forget leadcore can be used to troll for trout, salmon and other suspended predators that hover around the deeper water. If you have never used leadcore, it is a must have in your fishing arsenal.
Ep 81Stick Baits
Early spring is stick bait time! Night time or day time, stick baits of every shape and size seem to be the bait that sets off those early spring Walleye. We tell you our favorites and how to work them to trigger those strikes. While we all sit in social isolation you can be listening to all eyes all the time! Don't forget to subscribe to the Next Level and get extended podcasts with hours of additional great fishing info!
Ep 79Fishing Nightmares
As open water season approaches, lets take a minute to reflect back on some of our...not so great trips on the water. Just when you think paradise is just a warm month away, we would like to remind you how quickly things can blow up and become an absolute FISHING NIGHTMARE. Break out the popcorn and get ready to laugh at how bad some of our fishing trips have been. I am sure you can relate and you will appreciate the pain we felt.
Ep 77Early Active Fish
The ice is coming off in some areas and the daylight is getting longer. Spring is just around the corner and so is the spawn. Walleyes are staging and getting ready for that water to start warming up so they can begin the spawn. Finding fish this time of year can be tricky and finding active fish can be absolutely brutal. It's important to know fish still feed while they are waiting to spawn and they can be aggressive eaters. In this weeks episode we talk about locating those active early fish so you can start your fishing season off right. Looking for warmer water and knowing what spawning areas look like can make all the difference in finding active early fish.

In this episode we pair your first order with how some of you will want to go after those ice off Walleyes. We know some of you still have several feet of ice, but a large portion of Walleye nation will be ready to start fishing in the next 30 days and we want you to be ready. Ep 68Catch and Release
Catch and Release... Conservation vs. Meat on the table. It's your right to keep fish, but it seems to spark fierce reactions from some. Is it healthy for the fishery? Can a fishery become more healthy with fish being kept. As long as your operating within the law keeping fish can be very healthy. In this weeks podcast we discuss the different aspects of catch and release to promote a healthy conversation about.... conservation. Ep 64Color Concepts
What role does color play? We all use colored baits and we all focus on color when choosing baits, but the question is why? In this concept podcast we discuss if color is really the deciding factor for a good bite or if it's the only factor we have to explain why we catch fish...sometimes. More concepts to make you go hmmmmmm! Don't miss it.
Ep 63All Eyes on Ice 2017
Our first ice fishing podcast from 2017! We cleaned it up and just couldn't bring ourselves to get rid of it. Some great information that never gets old. If you have listened to it before...give it another listen. If you haven't heard it before, we think you will like it!
S1 Ep 62Next Level Tournament Prep
It's early season and the holidays are over. Time to start looking at your equipment and getting ready for that first tournament. Now is the time to check everything on your boat and start to order replacement fishing gear. Make sure everything works so if repairs are needed you have plenty of time to get parts ordered and the repairs done. Evaluate your tournament schedule and start your research into the lakes listed on your schedule. Good preparation breeds success.
Ep 60ICE ICE Baby
It's that time of year. The boats are all snug in their beds with visions of hard water dancing in your head. The ice houses are all set up with care in hopes Mr. Walleye will soon be there. Now on Ford, Dodge, Toyota, Chevy, Nissan and GM but don't get to crazy the ice isn't quite thick enough yet. Early ice and where to start looking!
Ep 59Custom Painted Colors vs. Stock
Let the debate begin! Custom painted baits vs. Stock out of the package beauties. There is a definite art form to painting custom baits and some look like fish catching machines, but the question and the debate comes down to...do custom baits catch more fish? I know they catch more fisherman. Are they worth the extra money? We discuss our thoughts on custom baits and what we think is overkill and what seems to be the perfect extra touch.
Ep 58Tournaments, The Begining
Ever wonder how some of these guys get into fishing tournaments? Or how you can get started fishing your local circuit? What drives a person to turn a weekend hobby into a competitive sport? This winter we are going to start a new series talking about tournament fishing. We are going to cover all aspects of tournament fishing and have you fired up and ready to go when tournament season 2020 rolls around. In this episode each of us tell you how we got started and the motivation we have to fish competitively. Don't miss the start of what will have you ready to rock this spring.
Ep 57Favorite Fall Fishing
We all have that favorite story of heading to the lake in the fall to test your luck one last time before ice forms and you get into them. Maybe that trip wasn't about catching big fish or a bunch of fish, maybe that trip was with someone you may never get to take fishing again. In this weeks episode we recall some of our favorite fall fishing memories and the meaning they have for us.
Ep 56Fall Slabbing
Nope...not talking about filling your freezer. Even though that maybe what happens. We are talking heavy metal! Not the "Motor City Mad Man" or Metallica, but jigging spoons and glide baits. Heavy baits that work well when fished vertically during the fall and early winter. They come in all different shapes, sizes and colors, but one thing is for sure...they produce fish!
Ep 55Fall Concepts
Fall fishing is in full swing in some areas and getting ready to start in others. There are a few fall concepts you need to be aware of before the wolf pack frenzy begins. In this episode we discuss fishing from shore for Walleye and locating fish from a boat in mid day. We discuss baits that need to be in your box as the fall fishing frenzy approaches. You don't want to miss the next important step as we walk you through fall fishing.
Ep 54Fall Transition Bite #2
The fall bite will be in full swing in the weeks to come and it's time to start looking for fishing in those classic fall bite areas. If you haven't figured out what those areas are, we can help. The fall bite can be precise when fishing structure and it's important to know your electronics. Fall Transition Bite #2!
Ep 53Fall Transition Bite #1
As we watch summer in our rear view mirror we notice the fish maybe a little harder to catch. A little harder to find. It is transition time where the fish are beginning to school up in "wolf packs" on structure and vertical presentations become the ideal method for catching more fish. Fishing is about to get really good, but we need to keep our tactics fluid and flexible so we can keep catching those Fall Transition fish!
Ep 52Desensitized
This bait is my favorite bait! Two years later you can't get a bite on the same bait. What changed? In this podcast we discuss the theory of fish becoming desensitized to baits. What bait will the next two year wonder be and what stands the test of time? Why do fish seem to grow cold to baits after hot starts? We discuss all these questions in...Desensitized!
Ep 51Dog Days of Summer
It's hot. Really hot. It's the dog days of summer and the old guys have hung up their Walleye rods till fall. Not so fast! Walleyes don't just disappear or go on a hunger strike because of the heat. They just move and there is more competition with plenty of bait. This time of year is when you really start to learn about Walleye fishing.
Ep 50Trolling #3 Midsummer
It's midsummer and your bite close to shore has vanished. Traditional Walleye wisdom would have you believe the fish are deep in cooler water. That is partially true, they are in the deep water but they are suspended only a few feet down. During the hot summer days those fish slide out from night time feeding locations and they suspend over deep water and they relate to pods of bait fish suspended over the same deep water. Trolling #3 midsummer suspended Walleyes.
Ep 49Casting To Structure
It's summertime and the bite is on. Little fish abound and bigger fish are a little tougher to find. Tournaments are in full swing and boats are starting to troll for suspended fish. Plenty of big fish are still to be had casting to structure.
Ep 48Trolling Part 2...Spinners
It's that time of year when trolling for suspended fish and fish relating to submerged structure requires some trolling skills. Crankbaits are a great choice, but sometimes Walleyes want a little thump and a little meat to entice them to bite. Trolling spinners is a great way to catch big Walleyes on all types of water and a tournament winning tool to have at your disposal.
Ep 47Live It, Love It...Live Bait Rigging
Early spring and the fish are starting to feed. The only problem is the weather doesn't always cooperate and sometimes those fish can be slow to bite. Slowing down your presentation and putting some meat in front of them can be the difference between a three fish day and a thirty fish day. In this episode we discuss live bait rigging!
Ep 46Open Water Trolling Ep.1
It's open water season and time to break out the trolling rods and planer boards. Whether it's spinners or cranks, spring is the start of open water trolling and one of the most productive ways to put fish in your boat.
Ep 45Bass Fishing for Walleyes
Shallow! That's for Bass guys. Heavy brush! Hope those Bass guys don't get snagged up on all that junk in the water. Sound familiar? If you have said this or you think this, you are probably not alone and you are MISSING OUT! Bass habitat and Bass baits catch Walleyes! Lots of Walleyes. Countless times I have talked to a Bass person at the boat ramp and I am always amazed when I hear...we had a pretty good day but couldn't keep the damn Walleye off! Wow, did they just say that? Swim baits and Jerk baits which are commonly associated with Bass fishing are a great option for Walleye and are often over looked. Bass fishing for Walleye...This podcast will change how you look at your favorite body of water.
Ep 44The Deadstick
If you don't know what this is...stand by! If you do know what this is...listen close! The term "Deadstick" is kind of like Madonna or Parsons, only one name needed to know what I am talking about. The ultimate force multiplier and a great way to try out different theories. The Deadstick is in a class all its own. This weeks podcast we help open you up to more ways to catch more fish. DEADSTICK.
