In this video we’re taking a look at Adafruit’s Clue dev board. This features the same shape and size like the BBC micro bit so it’ll work with existing add-ons. Adafruit Clue has a 1.3in IPS display so you can make projects with text and graphics. It’s packed with sensors like accelerometer, gyroscope, magnetometer, pressure, temperature and much more. It features the nrf52840 cortex M4 processor with 2mb of internal flash. It also has a microphone, speaker, neopixel and STEMMA connector so you can plug and play even more sensors. With bluetooth you can make wireless projects that can control your BLE devices. For example, you can control your phone using Apple’s Music Service to play, pause and even change the volume. With adafruit’s circuit python you can make cool projects using adafruit’s libraries and demo code. The learn guide has all the documentation you need and examples so you can quickly get projects up and running. With circuit python your code and libraries live on the board like a USB drive so you can access your code on any computer. The CLUE board has a 9 DoF motion sensor (accel/gyro/mag) that can be used to calculate orientation. It's hard to visualize using just text. Normally folks would use a Processing sketch to display the 3D model but now that webserial is available in the browser, it's much easier to use that! This website uses webserial to get the Euler angles & three.js to display a bunny that moves around. Luckily, the genius programmers at Adafruit have taken the time to create and build the amazing Monster M4sk -- a plug-and-play TFT display "mask" that makes bringing life to your props and creatures incredibly easy. Power it with a USB cable or battery and upload custom graphics with drag-and-drop. In just minutes, your project will wake up, blink a few times, and proceed to delight and astonish anyone who encounters it. This tutorial goes into detail about the Monster M4sk setup process, and gives a lot of info about how I built the tree to house it. It's not a step-by-step tree-build tutorial, but it will definitely give you the tools and a road map of how to create your own tree or monster or movie prop using expanding foam and a few simple hand tools.
