In Sintra, Portugal kwamen deze week centrale bankiers, beleidsmakers, wetenschappers en journalisten bijeen. Het belangrijkste wat daar uit kwam was volgens econoom Arnoud Boot de openingsspeech van ECB-president Christine Lagarde. Daarin plaatste zij het monetaire beleid van nu in historisch perspectief. ‘De onvoorspelbaarheid van het landschap was de kern van haar opmerkingen over het beleid.’
