S1 Ep 8Why You set Boundaries
In this episode we engaged in” Why you set boundaries foryourself?”Boundaries are just limits. It’s a line you draw that you feel protects you: emotionally, physically, socially, and or spatially. All through life we are faced with boundaries. From the time we were children, when our parents said, “No hitting yoursiblings,” to adults now having social distancing boundaries enforced. How often do you think about boundaries in yourrelationships? If you want a healthy relationship, you must be able to setand keep boundaries. Without them, you’re likely to have unnecessary conflict. You can set boundaries while you are dating or once you’ve actually made acommitment to a long-term relationship.Conflict can arise even with boundaries, but more conflictwill come without them. For example, during the dating stage, men and women maynot talk a great deal about each other having friends of the opposite sex (Orsame sex, depending on where your preferences lay.).Whencommitted to a long-term relationship and one or both of partners may want tohang out with someone who could seem competitive to them, it could cause anissue. Somemales don't like their partner to hang out with other guys - even if they saythey are just friends. Some women are the same way. If their partner wants togo have dinner with a female friend, it is often times difficult for theirpartner to feel good about it. The same is true with same sex relations or anyrelationship. Granted, some couples are completely fine with such arrangements, but the important keyto note is to have a discussion about it. State what you are comfortable withand set boundaries if necessary. Doublestandards are a no-no as well. If your partner tells you they are allowed tohang out with someone, but you are not allowed in the same way, that's a doublestandard. There have been incidents where one partner may restrict theirpartner of going out seeing their family or friends. This an abusiverelationship of power and is not healthy for the one who is powerless. Theyneed to get out of the situation immediately as there may be no room for theirneed for boundaries. Foroptimal growth in a relationship, healthy boundaries ought to be discussed andagreed upon. Each person needs to take responsibility for their role in therelationship and draw lines when it comes to what is acceptable and what isnot. It’salright for you to say no to things that you are uncomfortable with in arelationship. If he / she is flirting with the waitress bothers you, tell them.If she’s texting her ex and it bothers you, let her know. Yourexpression may or may not result in your partner changing their behavior, butat least you can discuss how it makes you feel and not end up with resentmentsdown the road. You’ll also find out, if this is the type of relationship youwant long-term. Withinour body energy system, the belief and values we grow up will may need tochange as they are not health. Often change in our boundaries will not beexcept by others as the are use to the old system. In my own family there wasno clear boundaries in thinking differently, in behaviour, and rescuing systemto keep you in the same system as before. Anexample of this could be in a cult, where having no boundaries around sexualintimacy, only one way of thinking, not being allow to explore knowledge...

S1 Ep 7Ways to Help You Release Sorrow and Grief
Good day, today’s podcast is“Ways to Help You Release Sorrow and Grief.I have been a United Church ofCanada Minister for over 35 years and I have ministry in many churches. I haveseen Grief and loss take on many forms. Grief is a natural response to loss. It’s the emotional suffering you feel when something or someone you love istaken away. Often, the pain of loss can feel overwhelming. You may experienceall kinds of difficult and unexpected emotions, from shock or anger todisbelief, guilt, and profound sadness. The pain of grief can also disrupt yourphysical health, making it difficult to sleep, eat, or even think straight. These are normal reactions to loss—and the more significant the loss, the moreintense your grief will be.Copingwith the loss of someone or something you love is one of life’s largestchallenges. You may associate grieving with the death of a lovedone—whichis often the cause of the most intense type of grief—but any loss can causegrief, including:Termination from a job, company closing, serious illness, divorce or break-up of a relationship, financial stability, a miscarriage, retirement, death of a pet, loss of a friendship, loss of a dream, loss ofsafety after trauma, selling the family home, and so on so forth. Evensubtle losses in life can trigger a sense of grief. For example, you mightgrieve after moving away from home, children changing schools, graduating fromcollege, or changing jobs.Whateveryour loss, it's personal to you, so don't feel ashamed about how you feel, orbelieve that it's somehow only appropriate to grieve for certain things. If theperson, animal, relationship, or situation was significant to you, it's normalto grieve the loss you're experiencing. Whatever the cause of your grief, though, there are healthy ways to cope with the pain, in time, can ease yoursadness and help yourself come to terms with your loss, find new meaning, andeventually move on with your life.It can appear when you least expect it, such as when youfinally think you’ve processed what has happened. At other times, it may feelheavy, like a crushing weight you can’t quite crawl out from under. Many of ushave been taught not to cry in north American culture especially males as it isa sign of weakness. In fact, processing grief can take significant time andvarious rituals. Some even say we don’t actually...
