This verse reminds believers that their ultimate struggle is not against human authorities, but against deeper spiritual forces "not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, the powers of this dark work". This perspective can create tension with modern statism, which often elevates political structures, national identity, and institutional authority as primary arenas of meaning and loyalty. Christianity, by contrast, frames power as transient and subordinate to a higher, spiritual sovereignty of God, challenging believers to question where their ultimate allegiance lies. When the state demands moral conformity or ideological alignment that conflicts with conscience, this tension becomes especially pronounced. Can faith rooted in spiritual warfare and eternal authority fully harmonise with systems that claim authority over every aspect of earthly life or must one ultimately give way? When Christians today read this verse many often think of genetic abominations, hybrid creatures and the Nephilim. Our minds instantly conjure up the most horrific monstrosities imaginable, creatures and entities reminiscent of the days of Noah. But what if it's something smaller that we should be concerned about? Something naked to the human eye. The unchecked tinkering with humanities food chain through genetic manipulations and creation of synthetic life in the form of microorganisms presents a nightmarish risk to unravel our ecosystems and subvert Gods creation at a micro level. Imagine genetically modified plants cross pollinating with native flora, decimating natural production, creating diseases and impacting wildlife. The ecological potential for collapse cannot be ignored. Engineered man-made food from CRISPR edited crops presents us with greater risks, as the old saying goes "you are what you eat". We are turning the most intimate daily act of eating into an uncontrolled multi-generational experiment. So many of us envision the end times producing demonic entities and genetic hydras, perhaps we should be thinking about what is on our plate and in our soil? An ideal cohesive society is governed by robust and just laws that both guide individuals and promote moral conduct. However, the question arises as to whether being a "good" man is synonymous with being a godly one. "A shadow shall fall over the universe, and evil will grow in its path, and death will come from the skies". ConspiracyTheatre 3000 is back with another commentary episode. That's right the guys got together to watch the 1981 animated cult classic Heavy Metal. This one is a childhood classic of Bob's and a regular on Ryan's rotation. Ashamedly enough this is one Drew has not seen until today! This is a great hangout and banter episode between the guys. (Don't forget you can always listen along as you watch Heavy Metal at home). Heavy Metal is a 1981 adult animation, sci-fi fantasy film divided into a series of animated vignettes dealing with science fiction themes. All the stories are connected by a green glowing orb (The Loc-Nar) meant to represent "the sum of all evils", which is first seen floating through space before the movie's title appears. It begins with an astronaut that brings home a glowing green orb for his daughter. However, the green orb wipes him out and corners the girl for its purposes. Claiming to embody ultimate evil, the malevolent sphere, known as the Loc-Nar, terrorizes the little girl by showing a series of bizarre and fantastic stories it has influenced. The first is "Harry Canyon", a cynical taxi driver in a squalid futuristic New York who finds himself involved with a damsel in distress who is relentlessly pursued by murderous thugs who desire the Loc-Nar her archaeologist father found. The second is "Den", which chronicles the adventures of a nerdish teenager who is thrown into the fantasy world of Neverwhere, where he is transformed into a handsome muscleman, desired by beautiful women, who must get involved in a conflict revolving around possession of the Loc-Nar. The third is "Captain Sternn", where the title character is a handsome but irredeemable scoundrel who stands accused in a trial that the Loc-Nar throws into chaos. The fourth is "B-17", where a World War II bomber plane limps home after a bombing run, only to have the Loc-Nar ram into it and revive the dead crew members as murderous zombies. The next is "So Beautiful, So Dangerous", where a voluptuous secretary at the Pentagon is abducted by stoned alien wastrels and an oversexed robot. The final story is "Taarna", where the Loc-Nar has to come to a future Earth and changes a peaceful people into a horde of murderous barbarians who rampage with genocidal zeal. Only the last Tarrakian, a silent warrior woman known as Taarna, can avenge the victims and stop the Loc-Nar. The driving force behind this film is a classic tale good overcoming evil. Driven by its toughness and nihilistic nature, this animated feature is off on its own track, combining science fiction, mysticism, sex, violence and rock music. This concept when combined with terms such as "history is written by the victor" it is easy to see why one of the most hotly debated topics is the historical existence of Jesus Christ. Conspiracy Theatre 3000 is back! In light of the attempted assassination of ex-President Donald Trump we thought it was high time we delved into a political conspiracy film. In the Line of Fire is a 1993 conspiracy, political thriller directed by Wolfgang Petersen. It tells the story of veteran Secret Service agent Frank Horrigan (played by Clint Eastwood) a man haunted by his failure to save President John. F Kennedy while serving protection detail in Dallas, Texas. Thirty years later, a man calling himself "Booth" (played by John Malkovich) threatens the life of the current President forcing Horrigan to come back to protection detail to confront the ghosts from his past. The film delves into the shady background dealings of intelligence agencies such as the CIA, their own trained assassins and the 'what if' scenario of one of their own going after the President of the United States. The film draws on heavy themes of bravery, heroism and all through the lens of the boomer generations unwavering patriotism. That's right Julia and I are back with another childhood favourite film breakdown of the 2012 supernatural, dark comedy 'Dark Shadows'. Dark Shadows tells the tale of the Collins family. Starting off in the year 1752, with Joshua and Naomi Collins and their young son Barnabas. Setting sail from Liverpool, England to start a new life in America. But even an ocean was not enough to escape the mysterious curse that has plagued their family. Two decades pass and Barnabas (Johnny Depp) has the world at his feet-or at least the town of Collinsport, Maine. The master of Collinwood Manor, Barnabas is rich, powerful playboy...until he makes the grave mistake of breaking the heart of Angelique Bouchard (Eva Green). A witch, in every sense of the word, Angelique dooms him to a fate worse than death: turning him into a vampire, and then burying him alive. Two centuries later, Barnabas is inadvertently freed from his tomb and emerges into the very changed world of 1972. He returns to Collinwood Manor to find that his once-grand estate has fallen into ruin. The dysfunctional remnants of the Collins family have fared little better, each harbouring their own dark secrets. Welcome back for another episode of You're Missen the Point Podcast. This week I have a fantastic bonus episode for you all. Earlier this month I was invited on to the "6+4+3=Conspiracy Podcast" by Hank and Kyle to discuss the origins of the word Amen and whether it has any connection with the ancient Egyptian god Amun-Ra. You all know I’m a massive geek when it comes to language, etymology and the origin of words. Which many history savvy people would know weren’t ethnic Egyptians rather a semitic people from the Levant region that invaded and adopted Egyptian culture ruling the north for 108 years.
