Dr. Ruth Roberts joins me today for the first part of a two-part series on longevity in pets. In this episode, she talks about how our pet’s longevity can increase if we have them spayed or neutered later- or not at all. She also gets into the benefits of feeding pets a whole food diet high in vegetables and fiber and how to make that in a crockpot.

A balanced ratio of macronutrients for healthy pets:

  • 1/3 protein
  • 1/3 healthy fats
  • 1/3 carbohydrates (both vegetables and other simple carbohydrates)
