Show Notes
In 1996, Nickelodeon premiered the groundbreaking preschool series Blue’s Clues. The show’s unique interactivity—in which viewers help energetic girl puppy Blue identify clues to solve a puzzle—helped change the way kids watch television and has remained one of the most popular preschool shows of all time.
Now, Blue and her crew are back in Nickelodeon’s remake, Blue’s Clues & You!, which features a brand-new live-action host Josh (Joshua Dela Cruz) alongside all-new CG animation and refreshed iconic items from the original series, such as an updated Handy Dandy Notebook.
Raised in New Jersey, Dela Cruz recently appeared in Disney’s Broadway production of Aladdin, as well as CBS’ Bull and ABC’s Time After Time. Dela Cruz—who was inspired by the original series to become an actor—can discuss why Blue remains an iconic character in children’s television and what young viewers and their parents can expect from the new show.
