Show Notes

This week Kat (@kat.defatta) takes us through a history lesson as she talks us through how the diagnosis of PTSD (post traumatic stress syndrome) in war veterans used to be looked at and how far we have come in understanding the effects of psychological trauma on the human experience. Both women and men suffering from this diagnosis used to be seen as morally flawed humans thus resulting in a poor prognosis of recovery. Kat has a lot of feelings in this episode and expresses why it is sooo important to meet victims of abuse with empathy rather than blame. You will also learn the difference between PTSD and complex PTSD.
