Dry January has come to an end, but a new survey from Suffolk University and USA Today shows that while 86% of people don’t plan to change their drinking habits, awareness of alcohol’s dangers is growing. Outgoing Surgeon General Dr. Vivek Murthy recently highlighted alcohol’s links to 100,000 cancer cases and 20,000 cancer-related deaths each year. Despite these concerning numbers, only 13% of people say they intend to drink less. Paul Nagy, Assistant Professor in the Duke University Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, joined Jeff Hamlin to discuss strategies for cutting back on alcohol consumption.
