Show Notes
Tropical Storm Chantal continues to leave a trail of destruction across North Carolina, with 120 roads still closed due to severe flooding and storm damage. In Chatham County, Gilmore Road was washed out entirely, prompting emergency crews to block off the hazardous area. Meanwhile, in Chapel Hill, the Eastgate Shopping Center remains a scene of devastation—mud covering the lot, vehicles pushed together by floodwaters, and at least seven businesses reporting major structural damage.
Kim Deaner with the North Carolina Department of Transportation joined Jeff Hamlin to talk about the ongoing recovery and what it will take to get roads reopened.
