The Police Chief of Apex will step down in October. Jason Armstrong has been the leader of the police department since 2021. A 23-year veteran of law enforcement, Armstrong graduated from North Carolina Central. He started his career in Forest Park, Georgia. The town will start the recruitment process to select Armstrong’s replacement soon. Armstrong joined Jeff Hamlin on the WPTF Afternoon News to discuss why he’s retiring now.
