With the low fall foliage color now in the Piedmont and Charlotte metro areas, you might notice some of the leaves already look dry or faded. That’s a sign of drought stress. The mountains, only under a slight drought, which means minimal impacts. Some leaves are browning and dropping early which is a clear sign they’re struggling without enough water.
