It is round two of veto override at the General Assembly. Republicans in the Senate have overridden Governor Cooper's veto of House Bill 10. The bill now becomes law. Governor Cooper, back in September, called the bill a real threat to public schools and said the money would be better spent for providing retention bonuses for teachers.
